So after reading some great reviews I called to make an appointment, to my surprise when i called they answered the phone Stan Parente Salon (formerly Salon JBU) Evidently the salon is under new ownership either way it is a beautiful salon. They were very helpful in helping me decide which stylist to see and boy did I luck out, I have finally found my stylist, Carrie was awesome, she was so patient and gave me the BEST haircut and foil I have ever had. I have gotten more compliments on my hair in the last 3 weeks than i ever have in my entire life.\r Also the salon was super clean and everyone there was so nice and inviting so THANK YOU Stan Parente Salon for making my hair look soooo good. more

Gwendolyn gave me the best haircut I've had in years. Everyone in my office has been going to her for years and though I've heard of her over the years I paid no attention. I have got to be the pickiest person when it comes to hair. I started coming to Gwen after my last hairdresser retired. I should have gone in to see her sooner!! The cut not only has lasted pass eight weeks the style is so much better on me, all the compliments I have been getting has been almost embarrassing! She only cuts hair so she's very good and very fast too. Parking is tight during lunch time. more

I was afraid to have my long hair cut until I saw this adorable stylist-OANA-who also has long hair...I said to myself, ""I bet she understands how I feel!"" And you know what...she really did. My hair remained long but with a lot of style, plus the scalp massage she gives is amazing. When I got home, my husband said that I looked GREAT. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. more

I had been to about 5 stylists in the last 5 years until I finally found Oana. She was at a different salon at the time and when she told me she was leaving, I told her I'd follow her anywhere! I love the new salon JBU she's part of now. It's very relaxing, sophisticated and in a perfect Bellevue location. Oana is truely an artist at what she does - she makes magic happen! more

Homeira has been my stylist since 2006. She does an AMAZING job at coloring, highlighting, cutting and styling my hair. Having a beautiful person do your hair is key...she's drop dead gorgeous (you know she does a great job because she looks great)! I have referred my sisters, friends and mother to Homeira and they have been going to her ever since. I will never switch stylist because I have found the one. Pay her a visit and you won't regret it. more

Well I thought it was going to take forever to find a stylist that I liked. I searched salons in bellevue and found Salon JBU. They have a really cute website, and I called to make an appointment with Megan. Well I finally found my stylist!!!! Megan is great, she gave me the best highlights and haircut I have ever had!!! Megan gave me exactly what I wanted and was very sweet! Shes a great stylist and I cant wait to go back! more

After searching the Internet for a Top Rated Hair Salon, I found Salon JBU. I called and was able to get an appointment with Cathy that afternoon. What a great experience. Not only is Cathy beautiful, vivacious and smart, she's a very talented Stylist. I love my new hair cut and It's exactly what I was looking for. Salon JBU is an attractive and welcoming salon, very close to the downtown core, with parking on-site. Cathy has been cutting my hair for years and I love her discerning eye, her wonderful talents as a stylist, and how she knows what will and what won't work for me and my hair.\r \r As a senior I'm not too concerned with being mod or funky, I just want the soft lines of a great cut that flatters my face and and I don't want it to take much product or work on my part. Cathy is the magician who pulls this all together for me, and she does it with much personal charm and grace. I always exit smiling and feeling good about myself. more

I cut my long hair off and donated it few months ago, and I knew Cathy was the only one for the job. Haircuts were not common when I had such long hair. I've lived in Washington for three years now, and I had only gotten my hair cut twice. I met Cathy through relatives who go to her for haircuts. My sister, brother-in-law, niece, and two nephews all go to Cathy for haircuts and would not have it any other way. They have followed her for four years wherever she goes. With that in mind, I knew I had to go to Cathy when I decided to cut my hair off. I did some research online to find her on my own (I didn't want to ask my sister because I wanted it to be a surprise). I called Cathy the same day I wanted to get a haircut. She was able to put time aside to color and cut my hair before the salon closed. I brought my laptop with me, which had a picture on it for reference. I started with that picture, but gave Cathy a lot of changes for the color and cut. I'm very picky and specific when it comes to using shears vs. razors, products in my hair to create a wet style or dry style, etc. I don't leave anything out! She was able to combine the original picture and my changes and comments to create the perfect color and cut for me! I couldn't get over it! I have been having a blast with my hair ever since, and I always look forward to my appointments with Cathy! I love talking to her, and there is never a dull moment! I have gotten countless comments on my haircut and color every since the big change, and everyone always wants to know who did it. I know my family and I will continue to go to Cathy for anything and everything that is HAIR!! more

So I have been going to the same hairstylist for a long time and was getting pretty bored. I kept asking her for something new, a different cut or a new color but it never would turn out the way I wanted so I decided it was time for a change!\r \r I started looking online and found a lot of great reviews about Salon JBU and noticed a lot of those reviews were for Megan. So I thought I would try her out! When I went to the salon website and read Megan's bio I thought to myself... shes young, beautful and she has to keep up with the lastest trends...she'll know what to do!!\r \r I made my first appointment with her for color, foil (gotta cover those grays!!) and a haircut and when I was done I knew I made the right decision!! Megan listened to me, she understood what I wanted and how I felt bored with my current look and she gave me her professional opinion on what to do with my hair. Ive been going to Megan for awhile now and everytime I see her I love my hair! The salon is great, everyone is so nice! I would highly recommend Megan to anyone and everyone! more

I've been searching for a stylist since I moved here from Minneapolis 10 years ago and I think I finally found her...Cathy at JBU! She knew exactly what to do and took time to match my color and tone down my highlights. What;s amazing is that when I get up in the morning my hair looks good BEFORE I do anything to it! Who says people with short hair can't cut long hair? Megan can and it looks so great!!! I am not very good about choosing a style to compoliment my face but Megan is an expert. Megan is the very best hair coloring expert I ever known in the area, she did my color highlight perfect everytime, I am a perfectionist and very picky esp about my hair color. I love Megan's work so much and I got many compliments on my hair highlights everywhere I go. She is awesome and detail oriented, she remembered what I like and what I prefer during every visit. For the first 3 years I moved to Seattle, I was a hair salon gypsy. I tried famous, well known, well established salons as well as Asian salons with Asian stylists. When I was just about to give up my hope of finding ""the one"", I found Megan. Since then, I said good bye to my gypsy life and I am completely satisfied whenever I see Megan. \r When I see her, I don't usually have a clear image of what I want to do with my hair. Megan takes time to talk/listen to me to figure out what I really want to do, and she gives me great result every time. I get lots of compliments on my hair, even from total strangers (that shows I'm not the only one who thinks my hair looks fabulous!) My last visit was a hair color/highlight, which I have never done in my life (oh, but I'm not a teenager. I'm old enough to have a kid or two.) It took longer than I expected, but that's because she wanted to make sure that the color was right and most of all, I WAS HAPPY with the color. I also like her honesty and eagerness to get my feedback. Every time I see her, she tell me that if I don't like whatever she did (after I go home), if things don't work out, let her know so I'll be happier and she'll be a better stylist for me. I live in Tucson, and my mom lives in the Seattle area. Whenever I'm there for a visit I like to go to JBU and always request Megan for my cut and color. She does a great job, and I have curly hair, so my haircuts are not always an easy task. She is easy to talk to, and is always willing to work with me to figure out the best way to get my cut and color just the way I want.\r \r I'm really looking forward to my next visit! After years of commuting to a hair stylist, I finally decided to try someone more local. A friend recommended going to Megan at JBU Salon... And I'm glad I did! Megan had some great ideas for my hair, but also listened to what I wanted to do with it. She made sure to keep in mind that I have a toddler and can't always "" do"" my hair. So if I can't make it in for a foil as often as I'd like, my hair still looks good. Now when I go in I don't have to make suggestions on what to do, I trust her with my hair. She is up to date with styles and is very professional. You can tell she has a passion for hair and of course her clients. I am so very picky when it comes to my hair because it seldom looks good even when I put in what seems like half a days work into it. Sadly I also think that my hair is my best feature. So you can imagine how I have struggled finding a hairdresser. I have found 2 in my 30 years living in the NW. One retired a few years after I started coming to him and the other moved away only after a few cuts. \r \r After much research and asking around people that I thought had a good haircut I found Gwen. She's God sent! I booked my appointment online and that in itself is wonderous. The parking lot was a little full but I managed after a couple of rounds. (avoid lunch time) The salon was clean and not as stuck up as some highend salons that I've been to. Gwen was running 10mins late but I didn't mind because it gave me time to check out her work on her previous client. (Who looked great and was very happy) She was very quick and to the point which was different but I like the no BS approach. The sampoo was good but not as pampering as some that I've had, then again I was here for a cut not a massage. She did something I've never experienced before: She gave me a haircuting class. By the time she was done, which was again very fast, I felt like I could instruct anyone to cut my hair. Then she showed me how to style it! Not just push a bunch of products at me but actually a lesson on how to style my hair and that was even faster. I loved how it looked but doubt that I could recreate it. Then she told me to come in for a bang trim in between cuts, again something I never even heard of. Lastly she surprised me by telling me to book eight weeks out instead of my usual five weeks. I thought she's got to be kidding me.\r \r It's been several haircuts now and I have to say I still LOVE my hair and I adore Gwen! I go in for the bang trim she suggested and she does more than just my bangs at no cost! I have been able to style my hair in less than ten minutes in the morning and it still looks good at the end of my day. It's a little long in eight weeks but I don't mind as much as I'd thought. I have gone to JBU for about a year for my haircuts; my daughter had her hair fixed there for Prom - all great. Unfortunately, about 6 weeks ago, I was referred to Megan for color and the result has been disastrous. I wanted my haircolor to gradually be lightened through highlighting to become closer in color to my increasing grey roots in order to avoid the monthly root touch-up. Megan applied highlights but also used a color darker than my natural hair at the roots unbeknowst to me. When she removed the foil, she was as surprised as I was and made some indication that another stylist had advised her to use the darker color. Although at that moment it looked alright, it did not get me any closer to avoiding root touch-up monthly. Megan indicated we would see how the color grew out and correct if need be. \r Five weeks later I again had the one-inch white roots with what looks as though a black Magic Marker had been used to draw a dark line between my roots and the rest of my hair. It took me three calls to get Megan to return my call. She was cool and unconcerned and left a message that I should call the receptionist and let the receptionist know what I was calling about. When I finally was able to connect with Megan, she admitted it would probably take at least two complete foils to correct the dark line and dark roots. In addition, she would make no price adjustment and instead was going to charge me the same $150 again. I am a single mom who works two jobs and am not able to afford $150.00 every six weeks. My recommendation is to avoid Megan’s handiwork at all costs. I would not have been so upset if she had owned her misjudgment in even the slightest way or shown any concern at all. Megan is unprofessional and incompetent at this stage of her career. \r more

Gwen gave me a hair cut more than one month ago, and I did not have any bad hair day since. In the past, my hair can look messy and fuzzy if I did not take care of it. However, her hair cut requires very little maintenance. My hair always look good even after I use cheap hair shampoo or forget to blow try it. Her hair cut brings out the natural beauty of my slightly wavy hair and it frames my face softly that I started to love and appreciate my face everyday. Gwen’s haircut is more expensive than other stylists. I had to wait 15 minutes for a 30 minutes haircut because she was running late from the previous haircut.
