Im new to the area and decided to look online for high rated salons. The first one I went to was great, but an hour& a half drive...not exactly worth it. or so I thought. Salon 54...

thermal hair straightening 8/3/2004

I had the thermal hair straightening done with Joey. I was afraid of getting my hair damaged, but I love my hair now. I can actually keep it open, and it doesnt fall more than it normally does. Joey is very good, knows what hes doing, and works with you. I love my hair, and will keep getting it straightened. I also get my hair cut there, and after searching for a long time here in the triangle, I have finally found someone who knows what they are doing. I highly recommend Salon 54. more

WOW! Salon 54 7/29/2004

I went to Joey with an old perm, damaged hair & streaky highlights from running in the sun. I left with a gorgeous cut that fits my round face perfectly, great highlights and corrected color. Joey Studio 54 7/18/2004

I am a college student and I did not know where to go around Raleigh to get my hair cut. I saw Studio 54's ad online and read about Joey so I decided to give him a try. Joey was great! He is the best hair dresser I have ever had and knew exactly what to do with my hair. He has a great personality and definitely knows how to do hair. I would highly recommend him. more

Wow! I went to Joey for the first time with a head full of brassy blonde hair. I have fun with clothes but never really felt stylish with THAT HAIR! Joey is absolutely amazing with color. In just one visit he corrected the brassiness, covered my mousy brown roots and gave me an absolutely GORGEOUS shade of blonde hights & tone. After 10 years of highlights in other reputable salons and lots of money later, I finally have the blonde that fits me perfectly. I finally feel stylish! I love Joey! returning beauty 7/14/2004

Joey has an education and experience with hair coloring and straitening...He knows what he's doing! I had gone to the expensive places thinking if i spend alot of money...they'll get my hair the way i want it....sooo not true! you can spend alot thinking it will make a difference but it comes down to someone who really knows what he's doing...Joey! I'm not one to pick one salon and continously return...but i can't see myself going anywhere else. I got the japanese straitening and got exactly what i wanted and what I was told I would get. Couldn't be happier 7/7/2004

I went to Joey last week for thermal reconditioning. Not only did my hair come out looking great, what he promised would happen, did. I USED to have curly, frizz prone hair and now it is straight, out of the shower, out of the pool, and in 96 degree weather. I can barely remember how my hair looked before this treatment, and I'd rather not remember. Joey is excellent at what he does, and his is not overpriced at all. On top of all that, he was very funny, very personable, energetic and the 2 1/2 hours I spent in salon 54 felt like a half hour. If you are looking into this tretment, don't go elsewhere where they charge $100 an hour and take 4-6 hours, go to joey. He loves your business and he loves his job. Simple as that. more

Joey is Hilarious! 7/2/2004

I went with my best friend for the Thermal Reconditioning process, and Joey made it so entertaining. He was extremely knowledgeable about hair care and treatment. He had the best jokes and sense of humor. He is the exudence of public service; entertaining and providing a high quality 'product'; end result. I was very impressed. I would most certainly make an appointment for my hair cut, which I'm sure he would make trendy, and for color, knowing that he would envision a creative color scheme for my hair, with me. JOEY IS AWESOME! THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME TO SALON 54 AND I COULDN'T EB HAPPIER. MY CUT AND COLOR LOOK FABULOUS. HE USED COLOR AND TONER TO LIGHTEN MY HAIR INSTEAD OF BLEACH. MY HAIR FEELS SO MUCH HEALTHIER AND THE COLOR IS REALLY PRETTY AND NATURAL LOOKING. I JUST LOVE MY CUT - I USUALLY LIKE ONE OR THE OTHER - BUT JOEY GOT IT ALL RIGHT. THANKS JOEY!!! Joey Owens, Owner of Salon 54, is an excellent hairdresser and offers extremely competitive prices for all services. He is an expert colorist in addition to all other hair services. Want to go from drab to fab? 6/11/2004

I came into the salon with about 10 different shades of blonde in my hair and it was a mess. I left the salon with amazing hair and I owe it all to JOEY! I couldn't be more impressed. My husband was very skeptical at first because the place I went to before turned my hair orange but, when I got home he was like you don't even look the same. He loved it. Japenese straightning 4/14/2004

I LOVE MY HAIR!!! I was referred to Joey by a friend that has been going to him for a couple of years and recently had her hair straightened. I have always had curly hair with seasonal frizzing and I can't say enough as to how much I love my hair now! It is so soft and easy to take care of. Joey is very professional and I would recommend him if you want to straighten your hair. more

Excellent Salon 4/5/2004

Great salon. I had the thermal reconditioning (Japanese hair straightening) done at Salon 54. I am very impressed. I have had so many compliments since having this done. Joey is very knowledgeable and professional. I drove from Florence, S.C. to have this done and I can truthfully say it was well worth the drive. I will definitley be back. I am more than 100% satisfied. If you want a professional to do your hair, then I highly recommend Joey at Salon 54!! Pros: professional, knowledgeable, affordable more

UNBELIEVEABLY IMPRESSIVE 4/1/2004

i was at first very skeptical, since i had a coupon and the location was unfimiliar to me, however, when i called i was reassured that the stylist doing my hair was fairly new, but a perfectionist and she took her time. that was an understatement.... i had highlites done by linda, and could not believe how she took her time to not only listen, but to do each and every individual foil. she even told me she would fix anything i didnt like and at the end made sure i was happy. shes so soft spoken, but with the quality of work she puts forth, she should be more than confident. overall i felt better walking out of that salon than others- and i have paid hundreds and even had my hair done in NYC- because i was so happy with my stylist, the price, EVERYTHING! Superior Customer Service 3/24/2004

Joey is just fabulous! I have been a client for over a year now and consistently get excellent color, cuts, and overall service. Joey has great ability and has fixed my self-imposed hair disasters more than once! His highlights are very professional and I love the way he mixes the colors in my hair. I had the Thermal Hair Straightening done. WOW!! It is incredible and so is Joey. He will even accept appointments on Sundays. Super friendly and a nice salon, not a stuffy atmosphere. Can't wait to go back for my color! Pros: Experienced, Friendly, Flexible hours more

I have been to a lot of salons in Raleigh and never received as many compliments on my hair as I have with Salon54! Joey does an excellent job of combining exactly what you are looking for with his amazing creative talent. I understand now why people have been going to him for years!! more

THE GREATEST 3/14/2004

Joey Owens is probably the best hairdresser in all of North Carolina. He made my hair from godawful ugly to beautiful bouncing long hair. I don't know what I would do if I did not have Joey Owens to do my hair. He cuts, perms, colors, and puts in highlights. He also cuts my son's hair.
