I am so sorry to hear of the Wolfpack discouraged review and how you may have felt that day. I am the owner of the Duchess's Tea. I host Tea Parties every weekend at the Oakwood B & B and have been hosting them for 1 1/2 years now. I was not aware of this happening at the time and wish that I had been advised that day. However, Gary and I spoke breifly about this. With knowing him the way that I do and his work ethics, Im sure this was an off day for all people involved.
I have been working with Gary and Doris at the Oakwood B & B and both are wonderful people and gracious B & B host. We have a great working relationship and they trust me with their home to provide the wonderful tea parties that people have hosted there. This is unfortunately the first negative reply/review that I have been aware. Again, I sincerely apologize for this situation. In responding to Gary's defense, I do offer water when anyone would like it before, during, or after a Teaparty. There are areas in the home that are designated for the guest of the B & B. Of course, many of the tea party guest would not know this. This brings to my attention to make this comment prior to each teaparty. That to please ask me if you need anything at all while the guest are attending the tea parties. The Oakwood is absolutely wonderful for a Tea Party. I hope the comment doesnt discourage anyone from experiencing how sweet and beautiful the home is and how wonderful the Tea Parties are.

The Grove Cafe and Bar is inside the Sheraton Imperial Center in downtown Raleigh on South Salisbury Street. They serve New American style cuisine and are open for breakfast, lunch and supper. A rarity in Raleigh, the Grove Cafe accepts reservations, although they are not required, especially for small parties. For large parties, reservations are highly recommended.

I enjoy the concept, big suites for rooms, had a meeting in the living area. Two nice TV's. Nice steak last night at the Bistro and hot breakfast. Wonderful atrium with skylight concept. Very comfortable bed and nice showers. Beautiful thing for the business traveler.
Pros: I like the embassy concept

OK so I am not so sure about the rooms in this hotel, but as a event location this can be a fantastic choice. I know because I have lived in Raleigh all my life and have been to many events at the Velvet Cloak. Their are several choices of rooms, but the Pool Room (in my opinion)is by far the biggest wow for your buck. Watch out though, if your event is in the winter, the pool room is glassed in and can feel a bit cooler than other rooms.
This hotel gives you a feeling of charm and history....but, it is still very spacious and elegant. I love that kind of thing. About the prices, I think you will be surprised at how affordable this place is (compared to other event locations in the triangle).
Pros: Ambience, charm, history, location,luxerious rooms available
Cons: hotel rooms are not going to have that just built feeling

They have the best customer service ever! The room was inviting and had a wonderful smell. I would recommend anyone stay here for any occasion!
Pros: Staff, atmosphere, close to EVERYTHING!

Great business hotel. It has a perfect downtown location, wireless internet access, and free parking. The restaurant on the 21st floor has views of everything in Raleigh. Sit by the window. The bar is good. Beware of the older bartender,(forgot his name), he'll talk your ear off just looking for tips. You may luck out and get one of their good looking younger helpers to make your trip enjoyable. Try the burgers or salmon, those are the only two I've ever ordered, and they are really good. Best downtown hotel in my opinion.
Pros: great view, good food, hot staff

Stay here on business several months back and found this location the best so far in the chain. I have stayed at Hampton Inns across the country and none compare to this location. Friendly helpful staff. I asked about restaurants in the area and was given several great recommendations. One in particular was a little out of the way and one of the employees offered to have me follow him so that I would no problem finding it. Where else would you get that? (Did find it on my own.)
