Nice folks. They even had waffles in the shape of Texas. It wasn't the newest facility but, the pricing was good and management provided a quiet safe place to stay. more

Great location, if you're going to the Thompson Conference Center or UT Austin more

I spent very little time in the room because I was there for a conference. I was able to check in early and that was great! The room was pretty decent. The WiFi was great and the air conditioning (important here). more

The location of the hotel to the location of the place I was going could not have been better. The room itself was clean more

Bed was a little too hard for my comfort, but other than that everything was great. more

About $8 to cab it to 6th street. Its not luxurious, but if you are looking for a cheap place to stay, this could be it. It was walking distance to the stadium as well. Just a note if you are going to 6th, leave the bars early to catch a cab! more

This is by no means the Ritz Carlton, but it's safe, clean, convenient, and inexpensive. It's 5 minutes from downtown, and it's located right off of the interstate and next to a hospital. Those factors add an element of safety in my opinion, as I would feel more afraid of being in a secluded area. It's not the nicest hotel you'll find, but for the price you can't do much better. I was only in Austin for about 15 hours total so all I did was change clothes, shower, and sleep there. If you need a cheap hotel, this one will do just fine. The only thing I found strange was that they asked for a deposit at the desk. It's not a big deal because they did give me the deposit back when I checked out, but still odd. I love the city of Austin so the next time I'm in town I would absolutely consider staying here again. more

Extremely satisfied with the room and the location in regards to where I had to be while I was there. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and plan to use your location more often in the hear future. more

Room was older, but clean and linens were clean. Pets are allowed there, and so is smoking, so the room had a slightly musty smell, but furniture was comfortable and homey. Desk clerk was very helpful about directions to different points of interest and breakfast was outstanding considering the price of the room. I would stay there again. more

Due to financial constraints and the central location, I chose this motel/hotel. I very rarely go to Austin so this location was perfect for getting to and from downtown without any trouble or headaches. The room was standard and met our--me and my girlfriend's--needs, though the beds were pretty stiff. The AC units worked extremely well though the parking was a little tight. Considering most of our time was spent out of the room, this was a perfect fit. Obviously, I wouldn't mind a nicer place, but hey, it got the job done. more

Thought it was a very good hotel at the price and met all my needs being so close to the city centre. An ideal hotel for travellers or for people who just want somewhere simple where they can have a good nights sleep. The only problem i had with this hotel was the first room they gave me had no glass in one of the window panes, which i was a bit shocked at, however as soon as i reported this they gave me another room right away with no hassle. Dont think it would really be suitable for families or romantics due to the location. more

I had a fine stay here in very hot 100 degree weather. I was grateful for the small refrigerator in the room, the cold drinks vending machines and the AC. Nothing fancy, but everything I needed for three nights. They were very friendly an helpful at the front desk. I loved the option to cook a Texas-shaped waffle for myself as part of the simple continental breakfast (the batter was made, the timered waffle iron was on -) fun! Reasonable price was and is a priority of mine and I would stay here again. more

This hotel was exactly what the doctor ordered. We paid a fraction of what we would have otherwise paid at other very similar hotels for the ACL weekend. We were close enough to downtown/Zilker and our favorite perk/guilty pleasure Starseeds cafe was a walk across the street away. The hotel itself left nothing to write home about positively or negatively which is a good thing, as the price point often is accompanied by negative traits. If you're in town for a show and just need a bed, fridge and a toilet, without any (negative) surprises, this place will fit the bill. more

Simple and humble hotel. Very convenient to work at the LBJ Library, 10-minute walk. Not many restaurants around, except for a good ethiopian restaurant next door. Good places for researchers and very cheap. more

The Rodeway Inn is a pretty basic budget motel. It's not much to look at, and has virtually no amenities (except for free wireless Internet access), but it's located very close to the University of Texas' main campus in Austin, and is in easy driving distance from downtown Austin and the Capitol building. I found the manager to be very professional and courteous. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/6/2013

It was expensive but what I wanted was a good night's sleep and it was real quiet so I got that. I didn't eat the breakfast so cannot comment on that. I would have liked more restaurants nearby but the one that was close was quite satisfactory. more
