I had looked on citysearch for the best rated salon and unfortunately I didn't find Red Red Red right away. I found Follicle, a trendy salon with a nasty, elitist owner. Totally disappointed after my consultation, I went to Red Red Red and made an appointment with Monique. She was incredible...she listened to what I described and looked at the picture I brought and came up with something that was not identical to the picture but is absolutely perfect for me. It's trendy, it's fun, and it completely fits my personality and my lifestyle. I've received so many compliments...people ask me all the time where I get my hair done. I needed a new hairdresser and could only think of one friend with an exceptional cut and color. I am VERY VERY bitchy and particular when it comes to my hair. Monique at Red Red Red. I've been there twice and she is an absolute maven! I lived in NYC my whole life, and had my hair done at many TOP salons there throughout my life and have had several TOP hairdressers in Philadelphia do my cut and color. My cut, color, and highlights are the best they have ever been my entire life thanks to Monique. The salon is retro, comfy, and chic. The staff was so friendly. When it came time to pay, I was a nervous wreck... I thought that I would be paying FAR, FAR more for my beautiful new do. Monique is detail oriented and took her time with me. She listens and is a sweetheart- which many hairdressers DON'T do. Her technique for color, highlights and cut are updated and fabulous. While in Monque's chair, I noticed one of her coworkers doing extensions. My God! Fast, fabulous, gorgeous, and best of all... natural! Hollywood hair at a beyond reasonable price! I can't walk down the street or go out without someone telling me how fabulous my hair is and asking where I get it done. You are ridiculous and wasting your time and money if you get your hair done anywhere else! I really like the salon. The atmoshphere is very inviting. I didn't feel intimidated like I have at some salons in the city. I've had my hair done several times by Monique and have gotten compliments. The prices are reasonable for the city and the salon is sort of no muss no fuss. I've been going to Red Red Red for over four years now. I just saw their lisiting and thought I'd leave some feedback. Everyone there is super-friendly and takes an interest in their clientele. The owner Eleanor is always very welcoming when I go for my appointment. My stylist Monique always knows what I want to do with my hair and I get great feedback from all of the different styles she's given me over the years. It may sound shallow, but my hair is my thing and Eleanor is the only person I'd trust with my hair. After years of coloring (and also perming for a long time), my hair is still thick and shiny. Frequently, I am stopped by strangers who want to know where I get my hair done. My color is unique, and a perfect complement to my skin and eyes. My sister recently recommended that I go to see her stylist Monique. I was so delighted with the results. I have a short haircut and hair that's hard to cut. had to go back to get my color fixed!!! needed a trim and fill in my roots, called to get another appt. since it wasn't done right the 1st time. claimed that there's nothing wrong with having some roots...i dont think so...i came in the following wk. and they claimed that the foil must have slipped!!! plus did not listen when i wanted it trimmed shorter.. when i went back, monique fixed my color but again my length was not what i wanted it to be!! not worth the hassle at all!!! if i'm going to be coming back to get my hair fixed, i want it done correctly the 2nd time!! i'm shopping around for a new salon!! more

I drove from Brigantine, New Jersey to get my hair done, because the last time I was in Philadelphia, I saw a girl with a great haircut and asked where she had it done. So I booked an appointment with Monique for cut and hilites. I must admit, the salon is small-but everyone was pleasant. Monique listened to what I wanted, and gave me a great haircut, and nice hilites. I already booked my next appointment. more

I- as others have stated- took the high recommendations I have heard about this salon seriously and made myself a color appointment. I did not have Monique...so I don't know anything about the rave there but I can say that the staff treated me horribly, especially after I was upset with my orange hair (when I had wanted a simple touch up of my blond highlights). I left the salon with horribly damaged, orange hair and could not get the fact out of my mind that my hairstylist had rolled her eyes at my request to fix the orange and had insisted that it was ""like that when I came in."" Thanks to Monique, my daughter and I left Red Red Red feeling like we could grace the pages of Allure or Elle with our new, contemporary styles! At last! A stylist who does more than a surface cut. Monique did a great job texturizing and shaping our wild manes into submission. However, my highlights could be more dramatic. The salon is small but cozy, and everyone was friendly- no snobby wenches here! Afterwards, treat yourself to a great cup of coffee and biscotti across the street. Oo la la!
