This place is one of the most excellent place for a casual grub in the city. They have great burgers in here and their bar is just fantastic, great clientele too. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/11/2013

Just tried Raz'z on Sunday 2/10/13 After searching 'Food network, Nashville"" I wish pancake pantry was open, Because this was a waste of 50 bucks..The waiters seem to be a little Off..He would walk by our table, pretend not to see us then come back AWKWARDLY! He made jokes about putting an extra 1,000 on our bill. Never refilled drinks, Said he would bring rolls a few times but never did, He also made weird jokes about feeding our food to the wolves.. He just wasn't funny at all. The Caesar salad was pretty good, Along with the razz hamburger but, The Jambalaya Pasta was HORRIBLE I don't think the person that said ""the best thing I ever ate"" probably went there a couple years ago. My Jambalaya was off.. Everything tasted fishy and the sauce was just strange.. The second waiter came over when I was about 1/2 thru and just took my plate, then offered to bring me a to go box but, never did... Don't waste your time or money! more

Definitely NOT a do-again! 5/28/2011

Ate there years ago, and Chicken Victoria soup was my favorite. We quit going there, when we were refused service because I was wearing a shirt without sleeves (tank top), for lunch. Today was the first time I have been there in over 5 years. We were one of only two tables of customers being served. (BTW, the guy at the other table was wearing a tank top). Service was pretty good. MY food was not. Salad was appetizing but house dressings were thin, watery and tasteless. I ordered a Prime Rib French Dip sandwich on a soudough roll. What I got was slightly warm spoonful of fatty, tough, overcooked meat on a heavily buttered and grilled hamburger bun with a slice of unmelted Swiss cheese. The fries were at least edible, but for $12, not worth a do-again. more

Great place for wonderful food and a great experience! 2/14/2010

We went for Valentine's day. We were greeted at our table by the Chef and were made to feel very special. Our server was new and made a few mistakes but she was friendly and professional and the rest of the staff stepped in to help her out making our evening wonderful. Pros: Great team service more

American food with a foreign twist 2/5/2010

I am from Buffalo, NY, arguably the food capital of America. The typical ""Buffalo-nian"" rates these items in order of importance: 1.) Local Foods 2.) Snow Removal 3.) Oxygen/breathing 4.) Buffalo Bills/ Buffalo Sabres We know good, hearty food and expect the best when we go out to eat. Raz'z deliver's. It could easily integrate into the superb Buffalo food culture competing with Buffalo (Chicken) wings, Italian and Polish foods, Buffalo pizza, Beef-on-Weck, Sahlen's hot dogs, Weber's mustard, Chiavetta's Chicken marinade, etc.... Pros: Great Choices and hearty portions Cons: Not advertised that much! more

Great little restaurant 12/27/2009

We eat here pretty regularly. The food is great and the service is excellent! Pros: Friendly owners more

Nice Atmosphere, Good Food 11/30/2009

We recently ate at Raz'Z in Antioch, and the food was great. I loved the jazz band playing while we were eating. The hot sauce that they have was very good. The prices were affordable as well. The service could've been a little better as we were waiting for beer for a little longer than I would have liked, but overall, it's a great place to eat. Pros: Food, Prices Cons: Service more

Something's different 11/1/2009

I dunno folks but over the last 5or so times I have gone there is something that has gotten worse. Smaller portions. The deal of the day is a joke- very small, puny even. No deal there cause it only comes with one side. Then just today I witnessed a couple that ate outside, They seemed very happy until he found a roach in his cole slaw. I can't blame them for being mad but they pretty much paid (paid something is all I know) and left without eating or drinking anything more. Fast. Quietly and fast. I lost my appitite about then too. They lady chef person really shrugged it off after the couple left. Which kinda shurprised me more. Pros: Friendly staff Cons: Smaller portions and creepy's more

Great Owner, Great Servers, Awesome Food! 10/31/2009

Wanted a peaceful lunch to go over some financial reports. I remembered in the past this place was so friendly and just needed a quiet place with good food! They are always so friendly, EVERYONE, I can tell that the owner has high expectations from staff. He always comes to the tables and you would think you were his best friend...very sincere nice guy. In a world full of horrible customer service I have to say this place gives you your faith back in customer service and the food is fantastic. I would suggest the Chicken Alfredo with ham and mushrooms! Very fresh salad and when the waitress brought my salad she asked if I wanted extra salad dressing, it was not a bother, lol. Every restaurant I go to it just seems like I am an interruption, NOT HERE FOLKS! They really do make you feel comfortable! Thumbs up to the owner and the staff, job well done:) I would recommend trying this place! Pros: Friendly Staff, great food, owner really cares Cons: N/A more

Great Food, good price, good atmosphere 8/7/2009

New in Nashville and tired of the big chains. We were really impressed with the food, prices, and service. Our three kids loved the food and atmosphere. We wish there were crayons and coloring pages for kids, but our waitress had her own stash of crayons and let our kids use them. The chef came out to spend time with us which was a really nice touch and rarely happens these days. We can't wait to return and hope to catch some live Jazz. One of the best restaurants we've been to in Nashville so far. Pros: Good food, personal touches Cons: Need more Kid activities more

Great atmosphere and a great price 9/11/2008

I happened on this restaurant accidentally and have fallen in love with it. The food is fantastic, the ambience is very relaxing and enjoyable. There is wonderful jazz music playing in the background and each and everytime I have been there the chef / owner as made it a point to come say hello and inquire as to how I liked the restaurant and the meal. Everyone that works there is very friendly and I immediately felt at ease and at home when I entered. This is definitely worth any drive, fortunately I live right aroun the corner. Pros: Food, service, price, parking more

Random stop in. New regular! 7/7/2008

My fiance and I just moved to Nashville. We live just about a mile from Raz's and figured we should check out the local food places that are closest to us. We didn't expect much but I can tell you that Raz's has gained a new regular. The staff was extremely courtious, and everything was prompt and delicious. We are really looking forward to checking out the live Jazz, and it's great that they have a patio to enjoy nice summer nights. Raz checked on us personally once we had finished and I have not had such a personal experience from a restaurant for such a great price. A+++ Pros: Great service. Great food. Ambience is perfect with live Jazz. more

Nice Jazz music Great wait Staff 6/28/2008

My sister and I are always looking for new places to experience. When we arrived at Razz's we found parking was extremely convenient (my sister is blind and I am disabled). We walked into the restaurant and were greated by the chef and owner himself who seated us. He was very personable. The music was soft Jazz which makes for appealing ambiance. I can tell that this place is probably a cut above the rest. From the beginning I wanted to love this place but unfortunately it was full of contradictions. the floors were horribly sticky yet tables clean with real linen napkins. The bread seemed to be those made from frozen dough and not handmade. The spinach/artichoke dip was delicious but the chips were almost burned. The salsa was the best I've ever had ...did it have okra in it? My sis got the special soup of the day ...she loves clam chowder and said it was the best she ever had. I got the chop with a minty sweet sauce. The sauce was great ...the chop was tough. My garlic mashed potatoes were old...they were stale tasting like they had just been reheated and made from old baked potatoes. The squash casserole was a yum fest in my mouth. Zucchini sticks were over cooked but the side sauce amazing and reminded me of a sauce I had in europe. My sister said her chicken salad was perfect. Now the most amazing thing I found was our waiter. We never had to ask for a refill he was quick and thorough. He was pleasant and made suggestions that proved to be spot on. I rarely leave a large tip but in this case I did. I will come back to this Restaurant, but I just pray that the food will be fresh and be as it seemed it should be. Pros: Great Staff, Pro-Active Chef/Owner, Sauces great,Soup and some of food above rest. Cons: Food was inconsistent. Restaurant was clean but the entire floor was sticky. Food wasn't fresh as it was advertised. more

Great Food and Even Better Staff 5/23/2008

My wife and I have been regulars at Raz'z for a few years now and used to be the biggest fans. The food was great, the service second to none. Razz himself used to visit every table to say hello. Lately. we have been going less and less frequently. We ate there for the last time this Sunday. The incredible service is gone, our server was MIA most of the meal. Our order was not deliverd correctly, or in a timely manner. When the blonde manager who pulls kitchen shifts is at the helm, there always seems to be problems. Even Raz was nowhere to be seen this time around. The floors seemed dirty and the whole place just seemed less taken care of. I miss the old Raz'z and hope to see it again someday. Until I hear of changes, we will go elsewhere. Sad Pros: Great Staff and Great Food more

Great food! 1/13/2008

The food here is wonderful!! The restaurant has a great ambiance and draws a pretty good crowd. The rolls there are delicious and a great predinner snack. You can't go wrong here, everything is great! The staff is wonderful and have never had a problem with being seated promptly. Highly recommend!! Pros: Everything is great! Cons: Parking can be tight sometimes more

Wonderful! 11/9/2007

The food is exceptional. Every dish I've had has been well seasoned and in healthy portion and appropriately priced. Friendly wait-staff and the owner came out to meet us. Very impressed! more

The Menu makes the place look better than it is. 8/11/2007

We just moved into the area, and thought we'd try some of the local non-chain restaraunts. This was a horrible place to start. The menu is really misleading, and makes you expect great things from the kitchen. Boy, was I wrong. For the prices in this place, the food was average, not the best, but still palatable. The sweet tea was bitter and not sweet...at least get that right, and at that I had to constantly ask for refills. The service in there was not up to par. The only time we saw our server was to take our order, and to give us our check, I had to flag down another waitress for refills, other servers brought items to the table, like simple sauces and mayonaise. And it was NOT a packed house! For what I was expecting, the staff and the food fell very short of the bar. Probably will never eat here again, and it is 5 minutes down the road. Cons: food, service more

Best in the area! 3/11/2007

We eat a business lunch at Raz'z every couple of weeks. We are always seated promptly, and have great service. Raz often makes a visit to the tables. The gumbo is great and the portions are generous. Everything I have tried has been tasty. I highly recommend it if you are in the area. Pros: location, staff Cons: none! more

Our favorite restraunt ever 2/27/2007

Great food with a great atmosphere. Friendly staff. We bring all of our family members here when they visit. Pros: service, price, atmosphere, taste more
