Best

I have been waiting to wear my Danskos after a strap ripped out, fearing I would have to replace them (lotsa $$$!). But he fixed them while I waited - a mere 5 minutes - and now ...

Worst

I dropped 3 pairs of shoes off on October 3. They told me he'd try to get them done over the weekend. At the outside, if he couldn't get them done, they told me two weeks. Said...

I feel cheated! 12/16/2010

I bought a pair of awesome healed boots at Macy's and shortly after the heel was worn WAAAY down to the metal studs. They are cheaper boots but they fit perfectly, so I want to try to have them for awhile. I brought them in for new heels, but also asked if there was a way to preserve the stitching on the top of the boot as it looks like it is loose and will easily fray and rip. Ramuta told me that I cold have them add a tip over the toe that would preserve the stitching- she even ran her finger over the stitching on the top of the boot to illustrate. I came in 1 day later than my ticket said- and they STILL were not done with my boot. Further more there was a rush when they figured out which shoes I was waiting for. I heard the cobbler swearing "OH SXXXX" while he was fixing- as if ..."ooops I just made a big mistake." Not good It made me feel like they did a half-assed rush job. They made me wait 10 minutes- which made me later to work...and they charged me $27 dollars-- when the boots were only $70 to begin with. This price was more than she told me when I came in originally. ALSO- instead of putting something OVER the seams on the top of the boot- like we discussed-- they cut off the tip of the sole on the toes and replaced with a new tip- THIS IS NOT WHAT WE DISCUSSED and not what I asked for or was paying for...and was NOT NEEDED. She charged my credit card BEFORE I got my boots and would not refund my money. They did work that was not needed, charged me for it...and did a rush- half-assed job. SHAME ON YOU RAMUTA!!! more

Ramutas - good work - train wreck of a business 5/1/2010

You want to bringing business to this family run store...really you do, and I have returned a few times. But as to why? I'm not sure. Others can do quality work AND deliver in an workmans like way - meaning they do what they say and when. If you are totally open ended on when you need your shoes back, then this place may be fine for you. If you need your shoes back when they say, find some where else. Pros: good work repairing shoes Cons: totally not reliable more

My hero! 1/8/2010

I have been waiting to wear my Danskos after a strap ripped out, fearing I would have to replace them (lotsa $$$!). But he fixed them while I waited - a mere 5 minutes - and now they are even better than before, because he even fixed an edge that was digging into my foot. The best $7.50 I've spent in a long time. thanks Ramuta's! Pros: Quick and competent Cons: none yet more

Shine 'em Yerself! 8/11/2009

Have always found the lady / proprietress a bit cold (reminds me of my 3rd grade math teacher), but the clincher was last time I took my wingtips in for a shine (June 2009). They already had a 1/2 decent shine on them, but I wanted them looking better for a presentation. When I picked them up- I should have said something. If they put 1 lick of polish on them, I am a banana. Last time I go there. Pros: Still thinking.... Cons: Clinical service + more

Void of Customer Service 2/29/2008

They were 2 weeks late with my shoes. Had a couldn't care less attitude. When my shoes finally were done, it took them 30 minutes to find them among the mess in the store. Pros: ok work, Cons: Horrible customer service, unknown when you'll actually get your shoes. more

Best shoe repair in Seattle 11/15/2007

I've always had great service and results from these folks. Their work is top-notch, and they really know how to treat hand-made shoes. I recommend them to everyone I know! Pros: experience, great service Cons: parking more

The worst service ever. 11/4/2007

I don't know about quality of the work, but i bought my shoes a month and a half ago and they were still not done. They asked me to wait there until they would do it in an hour aftere I went to pick them up five times. Very unrealiable. more

Don't waste your time or money! 2/28/2007

Don't deliver on time and there was no apology for my shoes not being done when promised. Owner's attitude was we could maybe have them done four or five days from the promise date. I have been there before and I thought I would try them again but it was still the same bad service. I was recommended by Nordstrom for thier shoe service and could not believe that a company that thrives on customer service and quality would refer customers to them. The owner needs a serious attitude adjustment. Pros: none Cons: to numerous to mention more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!! 12/15/2006

Ramutas gives horrible customer service with unprofessional attitude. The quality of work is just mediocre. Shoes take well over 2 weeks past the due date and the owner/employees flat out lie about their timelines and services. They will refuse service to you if you question their tardiness. Not worth your time or energy. Please take your business elsewhere. more

Terrible Service 11/6/2006

I dropped 3 pairs of shoes off on October 3. They told me he'd try to get them done over the weekend. At the outside, if he couldn't get them done, they told me two weeks. Said they'd call when they were done. Two weeks, three weeks, four weeks came and went. No call. I finally called more than a month after I'd dropped them off and was told "tomorrow." When I asked them to call and let me know when I could pick them up, she said, "Oh. OK." We'll see. Not holding my breath. DO NOT drop your shoes off here if you think you'll be needing them any time soon. Pros: Convenient downtown location Cons: Couldn't be slower! more

Quality work but shoes NEVER ready on time! 8/8/2005

This place does good work, but, they are absolutely horrible at having the shoes on time as promised. Three out of four times I have gone there the shoes were not ready, or only one pair was ready. In fact, I just called them again today and asked if my remaining shoes were ready (even though they were due 10 days ago) and she said "oh yes, I just have to polish them". Thank goodness I called this time before heading over there. I will never go there again. Pros: Open on Saturday Cons: Closed on Monday, Items aer never ready more
