I recently ordered take out at Pluckers. It was my first time to try them. I was horribly disappointed. Waiting about 20 minutes of 5 wings. They were the smallest wings I've ever seen and only one was a little drumstick. Won't be back Wasted $6. more

great place for getting diarrhea 3/5/2010

Let’s admit that being located in UT area, Pluckers is expensive. And when you spend that kinda money you expect your food to be good. I am a student at UT, and due to studying late and hectic work hours, I have to eat a lot at Pluckers because they are usually open late. But every time I eat from there, Jesus it messes up my stomach real bad. Like instant diarrhea (excuse me). I have been trying to complain about this but then I realize this is what it is. Their revenues are too high to worry about hygiene. But what I can do is try to spread this word out their so that someone will pick it up from here and do something about it. Pros: Great location Cons: Hygeine issues more

amazing bleu cheese 7/21/2008

I've always loved any type of buffalo chicken with lots of bleu cheese, so Pluckers is a favorite of mine. It's kind of dive-ish, and every time I've been have had to wait at least ten minutes, but the bleu cheese and buffalo chicken tenders/wings/buffalo chicken sandwiches are worth it. We recently had Pluckers delivered, but they forgot to bring an extra side of bleu cheese and an order of french fries, and the french fries we did get were soggy because they were packed in the same styrofoam container as the buffalo chicken fingers. I probably won't order delivery again...next time I'll dine in or pick up and save the $3 delivery charge and tip for the driver. Don't go on trivia night unless you want to listen to the highly obnoxious trivia guy who wanders around the place and shouts into the microphone while getting drunk on the beer he totes and swearing at the people who heckle him. Pros: bleu cheese Cons: obnoxious trivia guy more

Don't go if you're a sports fan 10/27/2007

Okay, so apparently this place is a sports bar...not so sure. If asked to put on the audio to any game, what you'll quickly find out is that the place does not put on any audio game footage unless it is a UT game. What they play instead is music. I guess this place is known for people coming for the loud, out-of-control alternative rock jams. Even the waitress said the music was so loud she couldn't hear herself think--not the kind of place I want to watch a football game. Won't be coming back, since what brought us here in the first place was thinking this place was serious about watching sports. Pros: Eating chicken wings Cons: Watching sports of any kind more

YUM!!!!!!!! 1/22/2007

We tried this place and were pleasantly surprised. Quirky service was fun, the food was tasty, and the carry out menu extensive. We will definitely return! Great wings, onion rings and fried pickles. Never thought something so strange would taste so good.\r \r Only down side is the place was pretty dirty, and we went pretty early on a Sunday. I guess I can learn not to look down while I eat! Pros: Great food, fun atmosphere & staff, prices are fair Cons: The 183 location Could be cleaner more

Great Wings 11/21/2006

Pluckers has some of the best wings in Austin. Pluckers has been a favorite of mine since I could use Bevo Bucks to order in to my room inside Jester. Still the place has the same great taste of wings as it always does. The different flavors for the wings are all delicious, the fire-in-the-hole wings are killer (literally), and the fried pickles make this place a great place to eat. If you have to get a burger, I would suggest the honey bbq burger. Overall it's a great place to hang with friends and/or family. more

Great Wings, Somewhat decent prices 10/20/2006

I am a big fan of this place. The wings are great. Be sure to get the cajun wings and ask for your favorite sauce on the side. The cajun seasoning is adds a great flavor. Tuesday used to be 25 cent wing night. Now that has risen to 50 cents. Wait can be long when students are in town. Service is usually pretty good. Be sure to get the ""Pluckers Card"" for $10 coupon for every $100 purchased. Pros: Cajun wings, Fries, Beer specials Cons: Can be busy more

crispy wings + cold beer = the best in austin 9/21/2006

big hot crispy wings and a ice cold drink is all you need when you're watching the game they just add the fun stuff restraunt activities that make everyone feel like one big happy family...i love going to pluckers it is my favorite restraunt in austin! Pros: excellent food excellent prices Cons: they're so good sometimes they're really busybut its worth the wait more

I love this place! 4/13/2006

I love Pluckers - a lot! I go there for all my special events - 5 year anniversary? Gotta go to Pluckers. I love the ""fire in the hole"" wings - the sauce is crazy hot & the wings are crisp and tasty. Their homemade blue cheese dressing is out of this world! And the beer specials - OMG! The only issues I have ever have has been with delivery - the food may arrive cold & usually never has enough celery sticks. But dining in has always been great. My vegetarian friend loves to go with me too - for the fried pickles & stuffed jalapenos. The staff is usually very friendly & helpful. Management has always been quick to resolve any issues & reacts very professionally. Pros: Wings, Beer, Price Cons: Delivery (sometimes) more

User review by pedicam 2/17/2006

I didn't think the burgers were good at all. I was really disappointed. But their fries were not bad. You must, however, try their fried pickles. I usually just come in for that. If you dare, try the fried twinkies, too, even at least once. This place gets really crowded comes game days, so get here early! Pros: service, fried pickles!, reasonable prices more

Finally, a restaurant gets it right! 1/31/2006

I can't say enough about Pluckers! The food is fantastic; it's cooked to order so it always comes out hot, and of course, delicious! The wings are the best in town, but the vast menu gives you so many options it's hard to choose! Fried pickles anyone? Pluckers has the best atmosphere on game days and is the best place to be if you're not at the game! Not to mention the fantastic service! Great job, Pluckers! Finally, a restaurant gets it right! more

Don't waste your time 1/12/2006

I've now been to both Pluckers in Austin (I think there's just the two). The wings are ok, nothing to write home about. But the rest of their menu, although vast for a resturaunt of its ilk, is greatly lacking in quality. I hate to say that I have been to Pluckers for times (due to co workers) and each time have left disapointed. Also don't dare to go to thier north Austin location in the evening, after you wade through all the employees smoking out front you have to put up with white trash regulars how act like they own the place and dominer the wait staff. I have never left a review for any resturaunt online or anywhereelse for that matter, but I cannot rail against pluckers enough. They are classless and there food, service, and demenor, just aren't very good. STAY AWAY!! Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Too many to mention more

More than just wings... 10/20/2004

Pluckers wings are amazing, but if you haven't tried their fried pickles or the honey BBQ burger you are missing out. Pluckers menu has enough to satify everyone. Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, fun environment more

YES 2/22/2004

Pluckers is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. It's VERY good and relatively cheap, plus the management always treats us like royalty because we go there so often. Go there for the wings or the ribs; they have other dishes, like burgers, but they aren't that great compared to places that sell burgers exclusively. The fried pickles are a must for an appetizer. All the desserts are good, but make sure you get the fried twinkies at least once! Pros: wings and ribs, desserts, management Cons: , sometimes bad service more

Best Wings in town 12/8/2003

The wings at pluckers are awesome The fried pickles are great as well Pros: big wings, awesome service Cons: parking more

great wings! 9/4/2003

Best wings in town, no question! Unless it's a UT game day, expect to be seated promptly but since everything is made-to-order service can be a little slow sometimes, deliever service even slower. Pros: great wings! Cons: a little pricey more

  • We make wings for people who know the difference: The difference between fresh and frozen; between hand crafted sauce recipes and something squeezed through an industrial tube; between layering on flavor instead of trying to cover it up. We use fresh breading on fresh chicken for a fresh, cooked-to-order meal. If you're fine eating wings out of a cardboard boat, go for it - we think you deserve better. Give our wings a try. We've been developing our craft for over 20 years. If these aren't the best wings you've ever had, let us know, because that's what we're trying to accomplish here at Pluckers.
