We see a lot of bands and bowling while waiting for your band made it so much more fun. The staff was great! Other reviews said there weren't enough employees but there were plenty that night. The owner let us bowl for an extra half hour free since no one else was waiting for a lane. The sound was even high quality which was something I worried about in a bowling alley. And I'm glad to see there are still some duckpin lanes open! Pros: you get to bowl while waiting or listening to bands Cons: can't think of any more

Went to Plaza Bowl on New Year's Eve and had a blast! I'd never duckpin bowled before and it was so much fun. There was live music and glow in the dark lighting while you bowl. Prices were reasonable and the staff was super friendly. This place is so cool. Can't wait to go back! more

I've been going to this alley since I was a kid since its the only duckpin alley in Richmond. I'd been stationed in Safwan (Iraq) for the past 3 years and coming back to Richmond was an uncomfortable surprise. First off, there was a cover and all the charges for bowling had been greatly increased, which was fine because I had loved the place; I didn't mine paying for the service I'd been used to. There was a metal show that night, and me and my friends were having fun bowling-- until the guy working turned off our lane and when I asked him why, he eventually told me that he didn't want me or my kind there. I don't know if he hates military or if we'd done something to aggravate him, but he told me that ""he was weeding out the people he didn't like."" I felt his behavior was completely uncalled for. Despite loving this bowling alley as a kid, after being told that we weren't wanted there, I don't think I'll ever return. It's a shame, this used to be an amazing place. This place is great!!!!!!! Took a bunch of co-workers there and everyone had a blast. Could not have a better time anywhere. We are all going back about once a month for more fun. more

The bowlingfan guy that had a bad experince caused that on his own. I always take friends there and we have a great time. You cant beat the beer prices and the bowling is inexspensive also.The bowlingfan guy expected the owner to hold lanes for him while other people were wanting them, that in turn causes the bowling alley to loose money. If you go bowling there you will have a great time. The owner is really nice and accomadating to everyone except those that get attitudes.Bowlingfan should realize that you cant hold up the whole bowling just for him. I think this is a great place to go and have tons of fun. more

The last and only duck pin lane in town. The food is great (old fashioned fries, hamburgers, etc.) and my kids loved it! 5 well deserved stars!! Pros: Affordable, great bowling experience for the kids and adults! Cons: Usually doesn't open till noon (call for times) more

Live Music, Cheap Beer, Huge trays of fries aimed to please everyone! Last Duckpin Bowling Alley in Richmond! This place won my heart over the first time I stepped in. Great classic sport that truly challenges even the best bowlers! more

The place was dingy, the equipment was old, and the service was slow and rude. There was only one guy working there (which I understood from other people is typical) and he had to not only man the register and shoes and whatnot, but also ran the snack stand, and had to go out to lay out foam pieces that were used as bumpers. I told the guy that I was waiting for some friends to arrive and asked if we could get two lanes. He said that was fine and set me up with two lanes and said he'd start them we I was ready. I waited around for 10-15 minutes for my friends and went back in line to ask the guy to go ahead and turn on the lanes because I didn't want to wait any more. Of course, there were 5 people in front of me and I sat in that line for a good 15 minutes. I saw he was the only one there so I tried to be sympathetic. My friends came and I finally went to bowl. This place charges based on time. I saw the guy look at the clock and rounded the time down a few minutes when we started. Slihgtly annoyed, I let it go. After coming back at the end of bowling, the guy charged me $5 extra. I asked him what the discrepency was about and he said that because I held the lanes that could have been used by other people so he charged me extra. It would have been one thing if the place was booked, but the guy had at least 4-5 other lanes that were still unoccupied. When I tried to debate it with him, he told me that I needed to have some common sense. I think the guy was the owner. He was a rude a**hole. I'll never go back there again.
