TRY EMPERIOR'S GARDEN, THEN YOU'LL SEE WHERE THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN BOSTON IS AT !

Can't go wrong 2/28/2007

I have visited a few of these around the country and theyre all just as good as they other. Consistantly good food, great prices, fast. Order a bunch of dishes and share. Great martini list. Mongolian beef, chicken lettuce wraps, orange chicken, noodles, and the spicy egglplant!!! We always get the banana spring rolls. These dishes are more of a contemporary asain cuisine, not authentic Chinese. Good luck getting in on the weekend evenings. They never took reservations before, but I think they started taking them or at least call ahead. Its still a long wait. Nice modern atmosphere. Pros: Never had a bad dish, order a bunch of dishes and share Cons: parking, crowded, the wait! more

good for a chain restaurant 11/20/2006

Excellent ""Upscale"" Chinese food 7/6/2006

If you're in the mood for table cloth Chinese food, this is the place. I've eaten at the PF Chang's in Las Vegas, Columbus, and Boston, and all 3 were excellent. Try the Mongolian Beef! more

OVER RATED 4/21/2006

given its location, PFs food fails to compare to numerous restaurants a block away. i find the food not-authentic and the atmoshpere was very unappealing. for the price they charge, i expected a lot better service than was received. the waiter seemed over his head and paid our table no attention whatsoever. i'd rather save some $'s and go to chinatown Pros: location Cons: expensive, highly over rated, unattentive staff more

Crowed but worth the wait 1/13/2006

We went and saw blueman group but needed a place to eat, so my family tried PF changs. Everyone got something on the menu we enjoyed--the food was fast and tasty--if only the line wasn't so long to get in. Pros: great food, delicious , variety Cons: crowded more

Not a Chinese Restaurant 12/23/2005

This is American food with Chinese-esque flavors, that's it. Anyone who considers this place to be Chinese food need to have their sense of taste tested to make sure it is still working. Cons: Expensive, Bland, Not Authentic more

Best Chinese I've had in the Greater Boston area 10/6/2005

I just moved to the Boston area last year, and, after several disappointing Chinese restaurant experiences, I found P.F. Chang's! The food is fantastic! I can't get enough. My favorite dishes are the steamed vegetable dumplings, wonton soup, beef & broccoli, and fried rice. Pretty much everything I try there is a favorite of mind! Highly reccommended!!!! Pros: GREAT food, Great value, Good location Cons: Crowded at times more

turned out good place for drinking also :-) 8/28/2005

we went out to this place to get drunk in one hour time which we had before going to movie. they seated us promptly and the server(Rose) was awesome straight away, making us feel comfortable though we weren't there to eat, but just to drink and it was our first time in that place. For me, this is the first time taking hard liquor after a long long time(1year, 9 months). Started with beers, then went to Buddha's Margarita and Lucky Cat Martini. My friend also took Martini's with Crab-Wontons and finally we signed-off with beers. Though not much of drinking, we were satisfied. Seems like this place is also good to eat. When I go to Boston common again, definitely I will try eating there. the server was cute and got our drinks very very fast ;-) Maybe she wants us to get drunk. Cons: parking more

Love this place...haven't had a bad dish yet... 4/21/2005

I really enjoy eating at this restaurant. I've tried a number of dishes, and have loved every one. If you go, an order of the chicken lettuce wraps is a must, they are to-die-for. I also like the kung-pao chicken and shrimp, Chang's spicy chicken, Mongolian Beef, and chicken lo mein. The great wall of chocolate is good, but you need to split it with at least 4 people. The banana spring rolls are yummy as well. There's usually a wait to be seated, so I'd advise calling ahead, but the bar is well stocked with lots of delicious martinis, so waiting isn't that bad of a thing. Pros: Great Food, Reasonable Prices, Great service Cons: Crowded more

Rude staff, slow service, and more... 1/9/2005

Excessively long waits and ""service with an attitude"" make this Theatre District Bistro an experience worth skipping. Food is quite tasty, but not authentic. No chicken feet or duck (head and all) served here. As the trend with many Boston restauarants lately, the inattentive staff and cold indifferent service leaves patrons with a sour taste. Pros: tasty food, location Cons: , excessive waits more

B+ Chineese 11/9/2003

This is a place to find good food in a good setting, if that food is Chineese. PF Chang's brings together a good combo of Chineese food with a setting you wouldn't be embarrased bringing your parents or a date to, as most Chineese restaruants might with its tacky paintings and red carpets. The make-your-own salad wraps are always a hit and you find yourself wishing you ordered two. We decided on family style dining and ordered two appetizers and three entres and shared them all. I think that this is the type of food that benifits from sharing as you dont want to eat a pile of lo mein by yourself. The waitstaff is knowledgable, so use them as a resource. The take reservations and we were promply seated, although I think we just got lucky... Pros: Good Atmosphere, Good Chinese, Good Value Cons: Noisy, busy more

authenticity 8/11/2003

this place is awful for chinese food. I've had authentic stuff and honestly, i find the flavors to be extremely bland, the food to be dull and unimaginative, and the whole experience to be an overall dupe. it was so surprising to me that the restaurant does well. go to chau chow city or oceanwealth or east ocean city for the REAL stuff. more

Excuse me while I gasp. 8/6/2003

I can understand why tourists, suburbanites and uptight families flock to PF Chang's (they just don't know better)...but I cannot believe that the editors/reviewers also give it the thumbs up and place it in the Best of Boston catagory. PF Chang's is NOT a chinese eatery by any means, but a dive that fashions itself after the schizophrenic theme restaurants at Epcot. If readers want greta Asian fusion, go to Blue Ginger...If you want fantastic, AUTHENTIC Chinese, stretch the extra 0.2 miles to Chinatown. But...if you're a goofy tourist, stay with PF...you deserve each other. more

Fab to Flop 8/2/2003

I've been a pretty regular customer at PF Chang's for a while, but the last few visits have been terrible. Service has gone down the drain and the 2 hour wait isn't worth my time anymore. Although the value here isn't bad, I suggest stepping up the dining experience and going to Golden Temple in Brookline where the food and DRINKS are 100%better!! Being a fan of Chang's over the years, I'm a bit dissapointed, but hey maybe I didn't know what I was missing.. try Golden Temple. Pros: value Cons: long waits, service, noise more

Pu Pu to P.F. 7/18/2003

I called ahead to be put on the ""call ahead seating"", they told me 45 mins, I waited 2 hours. The waiter was just as slow and inconsistant, bringing us the wrong order serveral times. The mixed drinks tasted watered down. The saving grace in the decor. The food was seasoned with MSG (yuk!) and the general gau chicken was soggy. If you are going the theater district start your meal in Brookline at the Golden Temple. Pros: Decor Cons: No parking, Poor service, Soggy food more

Very good food and nice atmosphere 5/14/2003

I've been to PF Changs numerous times and have yet to be disappointed. Though the food is not necessarliy chinese (and when do Americans ever really get authentic chinese anyway) it is very tastey. The staff is quick and curtious and the portious are usually generous. Try the low mein for a less greasy version of the classic or the General Gua's chicken which can be VERY spicy depending on the day. Go during lunch to beat the crowds Pros: Good food, great location Cons: Not exactly chinese, plastic chop stix more

Excellent 5/4/2003

This isn't the restaurant to go to if you're looking for chicken fingers and fried rice, it's for when you want something a little different (and really good!). The outdoor area is the only place I'll sit, especially in the nicer weather, the drinks are good, the staff is great and the food is unbelievably good. Pros: excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere Cons: gets a little crowded, a little pricey more

Gourmet Chinese???? 2/20/2003

The atmosphere is nice. The staff is curteous. The food....well....it's not good. Save yourself some money and go to your local chinese restaraunt. I have two words for anyone reading this ""Golden Temple."" Pros: Atomosphere, Curteous Staff Cons: Food, Food, Food more
