Tasty Homestyle Cooking...and a store! 1/25/2006

I've only been here a few times, but they have some of the best maccaroni and cheese I have ever had in my entire life. They have lots of other "southern style" food items in a really retro cool looking place. In addition to a place to eat, there is also a store in the upstairs, and almost all the decorations are for sale. They have a pretty decent wine selction of bottles you can purchase to take home. Located in 5 points this place is perfect for dinner before a movie at the rialto, and third places in nearby for coffee afterwards. more

Hungry for some history 8/5/2005

Ever been to one of those "great food, terrible atmosphere" restaurant? The NOFO at the Pig is definitely not that place. Walking into the NOFO, you feel like you are entering a...well, a grocery store. Thing is, you are. A converted one, that is. Once a community Piggly Wiggly serving the 5 Corners neighborhood of Raleigh, this spot now serves traditional and alternative American cuisine, from standard deli cold cut sandwiches to classic Southern standards like caserole and gezpacho salads. Although the food is medium-priced, you can each for relatively cheap, provided you avoid the expensive wine list. Wine will add another ten to twenty bucks to your bill, not including your tip. Overall, this slice of Raleighcana is one you won't want to miss. more
