What a mess! Skip this restaurant for sure!! 6/7/2009

I can?t believe this place is still in business! Pros: Location, convenient before games and concerts. Cons: FOOD! Service, price for what you get, food, food, food ... more

Meh.... 12/23/2008

I went last Sat with someone who really raved about the food (though other friends said the food was not very good). Got the bruschetta salad with chicken - the chicken was kind of blah, the ""salad"" part was overdressed, and it was served ""deconstructed"" (not how it was described). The head chef seems to aspire to a trendier experience, but this is called NBA City, and is classified as a sports bar/restaurant.I was not really impressed...maybe if I had gotten the wings I would have had a better experience. Pros: Apparently the quesadillas and wings, though I would not know. more

Former NBA City Employee's review of NBA city 11/11/2008

NBA City's atmosphere is someplace I would be proud to take my family around. If you're with the pickiest of eaters (like my former fiancee), they have familiar food with a twist that even the pickiest of all eaters would enjoy. I would highly recommend their wings and their ever popular hamburgers. Even though I haven't eaten them before, my non-vegetarian friends LOVE their burgers and wings. One of the things I've eaten before, the Margherita pizza, has a thin, crisp crust and the sauce is a tangy marinara with fresh tomatoes topping the fine mozzarella. Pros: Good old fashioned food, a variety of drinks at the bar, large portions Cons: The budget concious may be a bit wary of some of their more popular items. more

Bad place to go out to 6/6/2008

I really don't understand why an NBA Rest is in MN when this is clearly NOT a basketball state. The employee's are not knowledgable about the game, service was pretty poor, food is expensive not to mention the parking. The Restaurant is empty minus a few times when big games are on but it's not a fun atmosphere. The worst part is how can you watch a playoff game WITHOUT big screen t.v's. When yout sit you have to move around and position yourself to see a t.v. Those little itty bitty t.v.'s they plaster on the wall can barely be seen. The crew is not friendly..this is a sporting environment it's supposed to be Fun, Loud, Crazy!! When i call for information about possible parties no one knows anything and they tell me to call back in the morning lol. Cons: parking, NO BIG SCREEN T.V'S, service is bad not friendly, empty most of the time. more

Great place to watch the games/ close to the center stage! Good food and people! 10/22/2007

Hi, my wife and I came in on 10/21/07 with our kids to watch the Hannah Montana concert! We had a blast. The food was great the service was great. They definitely seemed prepared to handle a big crowd! We had a very friendly server named Jody! The only downside was there seemed to be alot of Bears fans in the house! Although, more than adequate choices for us to see what we wanted to see on tv! There seemed to be managers on the floor, one specific very accommodating gentleman was I believed named Dan, short hair and very concerned with our satisfaction! They even have a little shop and a place to take 3d photos with yourself in the picture! My son loved that aspect!. I do believe this would be a fun place to go even outside of a big concert day! Thanks! Rich. B Pros: Ambience! Selection of TVS to watch! Food! People! Cons: Parking. Busy during event days! more

Bad experience 10/9/2007

My family and I went to NBA city for dinner. The restuarnt was empy there we were the only people in there. My husband and I were going to have a glass of wine for happy hour because it was advetised form 5-8pm . It was 6pm and we were told there was no happy hour we asked a few questions but never really understood why. After that deal our service was slow and thwe food took 20 min I could see why we were the only customers. when our food finally came there was no appology or concern shown by the server. When we got the food it was less then expected very bland and dry. I would not recommen this experience to anyone Pros: quiet Cons: slow service, bad customer service, more

atmosphere 1/4/2007

The atmosphere at NBA City is amazing, myself and friends attended the bar on a game night and it was packed and electric. We had the privelage of having Jim as our bartender. Jim is very funny and played off our comments and the other bartender very well. It didn't hurt that he is very hot and has great arms we found ourselves staring a lot and talking about him often. I will be at NBA City every time i go downtown and if Jim is working i will stay all night. This bar is that fun and Jim is that good and great to look at. Ask for Jims special drink it is one of the best shots i have had. WE LOVE JIM Pros: hot staff Cons: can be too busy to talk to your bartender more

Awsome Bartender! 12/26/2006

My friends and I just discovered NBA City. We love it! Great atmosphere even if you are not into sports. We sat at the bar and had a good time with Jim, the friendly bartender. NBA City is a great place to start a night on the town or just stay there for terrific service and a great time. Make sure to look up Jim, he will take good care of you! more

BEST HAPPY HOUR IN THE TWIN CITIES -HANDS DOWN 12/11/2006

Best kept secret in downtown Minneapolis is NBA City! Recently opened as ""NBA City"" in March, this restraurant/bar offers the best happy hour downtown. Including ALL liquor from 5 to 8pm and 10-12pm 2 for 1! (The hh is 7days a week but NOT on nights where there are events in the T-Center.. Wolves games, concerts etc.) Not to forget on Sundays 2$ tap beer and 2$ bloody mary's all day for sunday football. Extremely clean, bright atmosphere, surrounded by at LEAST 25 flat screen tv's. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EXTRODINARY NIGHT OUT>> go to NBA City on a game night. Doors from the bar into the T-center are left open for your viewing pleasure of the target center floor during the game WATCH THE T-WOLVES LIVE WITHOUT PAYING FOR A TICKET!! Great food, amazing desserts, and even better pizza with 1/2 off apps included in the HH. Experienced great bar staff genuwine and outgoing, my friends and I loved Danielle as our bartender. After dinner, playing the NBA 3-point shoot out is a must ! Not to mention NBA City is a great place for people watching with wolves as frequent customers in their personal VIP. more

Fun and energetic atmosphere. Great people watching 11/22/2006

Great food and the place to be before a game. Great place to start a night on the town, good bartenders and never overcrowded. Pros: location Cons: limited menu more

Best Happy Hour around, 2 for one on everything and half priced apps 8/30/2006

I went into NBA City with a bunch of my friends that are really into sports. I am not into sports and wanted to go somewhere alittle more quite with less T.V.'s. I thought it would be nice to actully have a conversation. Boy was I wrong. NBA City great. They had all these flat screen HD TV's that were everywhere but they were unintrusive. There was also so many different kinds of sports on that it actually increased our conversation. We also had a really great server named Nicole. Nicole recommened some great dishes. I had the filet and my friends all had pizza's. The pizza's were fantastic, the crust was thin with just the right amount of sauce. I think that the best thing though was the HH. We were in around 7:30 and did not expect HH to still be going(it goes till 8:00 and then again from 10:00 to Midnight). HH also includes everything, not very often do I get to drink Kettle one Martini's 2 for 1. Overall I had a great time at NBA City and plan on returning many times. My boyfriend says it will be his official NFL Football spot. He can bring his laptop and conect to his fantasy league( Wireless internet) while watching all the games. Pros: Great all around sports theme with very friendly service Cons: not a great patio more

BEST HAPPY HOUR IN TOWN!! GREAT SERVICE! HAS A ""CHEERS"" FEEL TO IT! 8/29/2006

I VISIT NBA CITY WEEKLY. I USUALLY GO FOR THEIR INCREDIBLE HAPPY HOUR. THEY OFFER 2 FOR 1 DRINKS BETWEEN 5-8 AND 10-12 EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. BEST DEAL DOWNTOWN. THEY ALSO OFFER 1/2 PRICE APPS DURING THESE TIMES. I HAVE COME TO KNOW MOST OF THE STAFF THERE. THEY ARE SUPER FRIENDLY AND ACCOMADATING, AND I KNOW THEY TRULY VALUE MY BUSINESS, ESPECIALLY NICOLE! SHE BARTENDS, SERVES, AND SOMETIMES SUPERVISES, BUT ALWAYS MAKES ME FEEL WELCOME. THE FOOD IS ALSO GREAT( CHICKEN PENNE, STRIP STEAK, AND THEIR HOMEMADE CARROT CAKE ARE SOME OF MY FAVS)! THEY ALSO HAVE SOME COOL GAMES TO PLAY W/ FRIENDS AND A RETAIL SHOP TO PICK UP THE LATEST NBA GEAR!! I DEFINATELY RECCOMEND THIS HOT SPOT FOR ALL!! Pros: GREAT HAPPY HOUR, COOL ENVIRONMENT, GREAT STAFF more

The Ultimate Sports Bar 8/29/2006

More and bigger HD TV's than anybody in town. A buddy of mine dragged me in to check out his new fantasy football hangout and I must admit I was blown away by the amount of TV's in the place. There isn't a bad seat in the house because you can see a TV and get wireless connectivity from anywhere in the restaurant. I've already got my spot picked out for next Sunday. Have laptop will travel. Pros: Many TV's and wireless connection more

Awesome sports bar with surprisingly good food 8/24/2006

Went in expecting the usual sports bar but was pleasantly surprised - good food, friendly service and a fun environment dedicated to all sports, not just the NBA. We went on a night when there was baseball, basketball and soccer all playing at the same time. The crowd was crazy and made the whole night entertaining. Pros: Food, service, flat screen TV's Cons: a little noisy more

Great for lunch 8/24/2006

I went to NBA City on my lunch break. It was great! The food was service was awesome. I wasn't late getting back to work either. I'll definately go back. I hear they have Happy Hour too. I'm going with my boyfriend tonight. The restaurant is clean and really cool. I'm telling all my friends. NBA City rocks! Pros: I don't usually go to bars but this is more than just a Sports bar. Cons: parking, but I found Ramp A was pretty easy. more

More than just basketball. 8/21/2006

I expected NBA City to be just a regular old sports bar with some basketball hoops here and there. What I found, however, was a really fun atmosphere catering to sports fans of all shapes and sizes - with that many HD TVs, how could they not? The food was phenomenal, and I have frequented the restaurant numerous times since my first visit; there has yet to be an item I disliked. The Happy Hour has got to be one of the best in the downtown area, with 2 for 1 you call its every night. The staff seem to have a good time working and are very friendly. The combination of the environment, delicious, DELICIOUS food, and an enthusiastic server staff certainly warrant a visit. Get down there and check it out - it's more than just basketball. more

great happy hour 8/11/2006

I went to NBA City for the first time just last week and it was great. They have probably the best happy hour in downtown Minneapolis, as it not only goes from 5-8 but also 10-midnight every night. The food was amazing and if ever there ask for Amy the server. She was awesome Pros: Service, Sports Bar, Food more

Best Lunch & Happy Hour in town! 8/6/2006

It was my first time and they gave me a free app! I would recommend it to everyone! I will be back soon! Thanks again. Pros: Parking, service, people more
