First the positives: these guys fixed a problem with my Toyota 4Runner that two other shops could not. And their lifetime oil change program is a great deal. But.... Pros: E...

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/1/2013

I bought a lifetime oil change service from Midas in Factoria, and then they changed ownership. The next time I brought my car in, they said they would not honor my lifetime change because it was done under the previous owners. more

Thank you Midas for all your help on my vehicle. I came in with a extremely high idling problem. So test drove my car and scanned it they didn't find a problem but they decided to try and clean out the throttle body area just in case it was sticking and sent me on my way. Well all I can say is I haven't had a problem since. I would really recommend them to anyone and my family. Thank You :-) more

MANAGER DAN IS: RUDE, CRUDE,SELF CENTERED 2/5/2012

Where should I begin: This Midas has the worst Manager ever. He is rude, could care a less about what the situation is how you came in the store for service. Not only does he (Dan) try to add on things to bump up the bill that didn't need to be done but then proceeds to call me an idiot and I don't know anything about cars or I would not be there in the first place. And I am wasting his time and shop space with my car. Well unknown to him and he ego I happen to own a retail chain and was looking for a business in which I could bring in my work cars. I was going to see how this went so I could bring them all in to have major work done on them all. So Manager ""Dan"" you have just lost one hell of a Huge account and not only will I blog this to all my friends and family I will also see to it that NONE of my 125 employes EVER come into this MIDAS EVER. P.S>you don't deserve the one star . more

I could write a book... 11/22/2010

I found this place in Sept 2009 right after moving here. I was sold a bill of goods and a maintenance plan. Some repairs made to my brakes were not only poorly done - the guy left metal bits in the brakes which got jammed in the mechanism, doing more damage. I was ready to nuke their reputation. A month later I saw a ""new management"" sign and decided to swing in for an oil change (and chat with the new manager). The new owner was in the shop and we talked for a long time. I heard the whole story about the previous owner's IRS and legal problems and money owed to Midas, among others. He said he couldn't refund my oil-change and maintenance plan - but offered me 3 free oil changes (plus the one I was in for). Since then I had a transmission problem on my other car - I took it in and the manager showed me the dirty fluid and said she didn't feel comfortable flushing the transmission. She recommended a great shop across town - who were able to diagnose the problem that was burning the fluid. Now - they could have easily just flushed it - and then charged me a month later for a transmission. But they didn't. Last month my wife's van's check engine light came on. We brought it to them and they found a few deferred maintenance items (which we knew about) and diagnosed a timing belt issue - good thing... cause the belt was about to go. They fixed it (and the 5-6 deferred maintenance items) for under $1300 (other quotes were for up to $2500). The engine idled rough afterward - and they fixed that for free. My car needed a 120k mile service last month. I had them do the work without hesitation - and the car hasn't run better. Some folks on here have been posting what bad service they offer. I have yet to have them do anything badly - and when they do make a mistake... they fix it right away and with no charge. The owner even called me on a Saturday afternoon, a week after the service work was done, just to ask what I thought of the 120k mile service and invited me to bring the car in if I had any issues. Even the dealer didn't do that when the vehicle was under warranty. People make mistakes. These guys know what they're doing, and they're committed to running a better ship than the last owner. Give 'em a chance and let them impress you like they did me. more

Do not go here... 7/27/2010

My wife bought a pre-payed plan for oil changes and tune-ups from these guys and I don't think they actually ever die any work. We were driving to Portland several weeks ago and the engine suddenly seized up and froze. I couldn't even pull the dipstick out. We had to replace the entire engine for several thousand dollars. There was no oil leak and the coolant was all there. Bottom line ...if these guys were doing the regular maintenance this could not happen. Cons: Had to replace the engine. more

absolute morons 4/24/2010

worst decision you are trying to take care of your car, not damaging it. failed to detect any defects and denied any responsibility. not sure why they're still in business. Pros: location Cons: unprofessional more

New (and Original) owner 10/29/2009

I brought my car in for some electrical work earlier this week, and got a prompt fix and a fair price. Pros: Fast service, reasonable price Cons: Recent reputation more

Put my safety at risk - stay far away! 9/14/2009

I took my car in because of squeaking brakes and was told I needed new pads and new brakes. I had everything replaced and assumed I was good to go. I was recently in the process of selling the car when a third party inspection told me that the job was not done properly and that they should not buy the car until all items were fixed. I'm not as well versed in ""car speak"" but I know when something is cut and/or leaking after a break job, it's not a good thing. I can't believe I've been driving around in a car with brakes that weren't fixed properly... it's a very scary feeling. I too will be escalating the problem if I don't get resolution from Midas. Although I'm not thrilled at the idea of having them ""fix it"" again if that's what they suggest. I wish I had just gone to the dealer or someplace with a better review. I've learned a good lesson. Pros: I discovered the botched job before my brakes went out Cons: Made the problem worse more

MIDAS employees are fraudulent. 7/16/2009

Like most other reviewers, I was not only ripped off at Midas in Bellevue, but it bordered on fraud. Pros: Close to my house Cons: They will lie about your brakes to get you to replace them more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! 4/3/2009

DO NOT go to this Factoria Midas!!!!!! I can't stress this enough! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I went into the Factoria location for the first time to get an oil change - the location was convenient. The guy at the front desk showed me (in a condescending way) the form that they use for the Courtesy Check and explained that as part of the oil change package, they also rotate tires, do a visual brake check, and inspect the battery, air filter, fluid, belts and hoses. Just 5-10 minutes after dropping off the car, they called and said that I needed to replace the radiator cap (it was broken), flush the coolant system, and clean/adjust/resurface the 2 rear brake drums. I came in for a $35 oil change package, and now was quoted services/labor of $300!!!! Okay... so are these add-on services really needed? Decision: My boyfriend and I decided to just go with the oil change and radiator cap replacement (those didn't cost much) and we held off on the drums and coolant. Horrible part #1: Just before picking up our car, a customer, who had just picked up her car returned. She had just left the Midas parking lot and noticed her car driving a bit strange. As she was returning to Midas, her TIRE FELL OFF and her car was stuck IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD!!! Seriously she is lucky that this situation wasn't any worse.... After collecting our car, we went straight to the Issaquah Midas (been to this one several times before and have loved the service - excellent customer service!!!!) and asked them to verify Factoria's work and recommendations. Issaquah Midas looked thru all the documents/receipts that Factoria gave me, and noticed Factoria failed to give me a copy of the Courtesy Check results. This copy would've documented the results of their inspection, including the pH levels of the coolant which would determine if a flush is needed. So Issaquah Midas kindly did the pH test for us and it came back NORMAL! COOLANT DOES NOT NEED FLUSHING!!!! Drums were just fine too. So that says it all... Horrible part 2: Factoria Midas tried to charge us for services that were not necessary!!!! On top of that they failed to provide standard documentation to their clients - that way there's nothing to disprove recommended services!!!!! And... they are just rude!!!! Go to Issaquah Midas!!!!! Great people and great service there!!!!! Issaquah, Bellevue, Kirkland, Bothel and Ballard are all owned by the same guy. The Factoria location and locations south are all owned by another owner. Pros: nothing Cons: They are Crooks!!!! more

Dishonest 12/13/2008

They told me that I had a damaged part to my car and gave me an estimate which was $600.00 more than my regular mechanic said it would cost, based on Midas' diagnosis. My mechanic inspected the car and said that there was nothing wrong with the part! This repair would have cost me close to $2000. and no part was broken! Pros: hours available Cons: DISHONEST more

Midas 11/29/2008

well looks like im the only person writes positives review about this place. Pros: brake inspection, oil change, and other job your car needs more

Don't EVER trust these crooks 10/27/2008

So I took my car in for a brake job. I had read terrible reviews on these guys, and heard bad things about them from my friends, but they were conveniently right next to my work, so I decided to take it in for a new brake job. I did my homework online the night before, so I would have an idea of what it would cost. They called me back and quoted me $1000 (when it should have been about $400). I asked him if there was any way of making it lower, and he said that he would give me the ""military discount"" even though I was never in the military. This made it $25 cheaper. I then called Les Schwab and they laughed at me when I told them what Midas quoted me. They said that they would do EVERYTHING for $425. I called Midas back and told them to give me my truck back, and then he said that he would do it for $425. ALL OF A SUDDEN they are willing to cut the price in HALF as soon as I threaten to take it elsewhere. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE OR YOU WILL BE SORRY more

Stay away at all costs or it will cost you! 8/23/2008

The following events took place between 9:00am and 4:00pm on August 9th 2008. Pros: Immediate service with short notice. Cons: Terrible lengthy service. Unreasonably high priced. False ""needed"" repairs. E-brake was worse after service. more

Beware!!! Bunch of Thiefs and Liars 8/6/2008

So I got lured by the Midas touch and convenient location, and paid dearly for it! Pros: Always ready to get your business (money) Cons: Terrible service, overcharges, no repeat customers more

Good at fixing cars, but too expensive 7/8/2008

First the positives: these guys fixed a problem with my Toyota 4Runner that two other shops could not. And their lifetime oil change program is a great deal. But.... Pros: Expertise Cons: Cost of service; always find something that ""needs"" fixing more

Beware of padded prices and un-needed repairs 9/8/2006

Responded to an advertisement for $89 brakes. I thought my car only needed new brakes and Midas came back with a $1400 list of problems that were ""dangerous"" if not fixed. I took the car to another shop and they found none of the alleged problems and in fact stated that the brakes probably didn't need to be done for another 15-20,000 miles. This Midas cannot be trusted and is boardering on criminal behavior. Save your time and money and go to another business. Cons: dishonest shop more
