I found this place in Sept 2009 right after moving here. I was sold a bill of goods and a maintenance plan. Some repairs made to my brakes were not only poorly done - the guy left metal bits in the brakes which got jammed in the mechanism, doing more damage. I was ready to nuke their reputation. A month later I saw a ""new management"" sign and decided to swing in for an oil change (and chat with the new manager). The new owner was in the shop and we talked for a long time. I heard the whole story about the previous owner's IRS and legal problems and money owed to Midas, among others. He said he couldn't refund my oil-change and maintenance plan - but offered me 3 free oil changes (plus the one I was in for). Since then I had a transmission problem on my other car - I took it in and the manager showed me the dirty fluid and said she didn't feel comfortable flushing the transmission. She recommended a great shop across town - who were able to diagnose the problem that was burning the fluid. Now - they could have easily just flushed it - and then charged me a month later for a transmission. But they didn't. Last month my wife's van's check engine light came on. We brought it to them and they found a few deferred maintenance items (which we knew about) and diagnosed a timing belt issue - good thing... cause the belt was about to go. They fixed it (and the 5-6 deferred maintenance items) for under $1300 (other quotes were for up to $2500). The engine idled rough afterward - and they fixed that for free. My car needed a 120k mile service last month. I had them do the work without hesitation - and the car hasn't run better. Some folks on here have been posting what bad service they offer. I have yet to have them do anything badly - and when they do make a mistake... they fix it right away and with no charge. The owner even called me on a Saturday afternoon, a week after the service work was done, just to ask what I thought of the 120k mile service and invited me to bring the car in if I had any issues. Even the dealer didn't do that when the vehicle was under warranty. People make mistakes. These guys know what they're doing, and they're committed to running a better ship than the last owner. Give 'em a chance and let them impress you like they did me.
