Will Never Shop Here Again! 8/13/2010

This place deserves a NO star review based on customer service alone. There is none. This rating system won't let me give them less than one but trust me, I personally give them less than one. I bought my daughter 2 dresses for her birthday. They both needed to be exchanged for different sizes. We went in today and I thought I had my receipt but the wrong receipt was in the bag. While I looked through my wallet an older woman, who was not the person behind the counter helping me, felt the need to add her color commentary to the situation with rude comments and to roll her eyes as though I was trying to pull a fast one because I couldn't locate my receipt. Pay attention to their ridiculous return policy, too: 7 DAYS and they will not even do an exchange, even with their original tags still on the clothes, unless you have your receipt. The girl behind the counter was at least nice, though not at all accomodating but the other woman was totally uncalled nasty. For all I know she may be the owner but I don't care who she is. I'll never go waste money there again. There are too many other cute shops in this town. No customer should be treated that way. It's a shame because we were on The Drag to shop. I'm sure my daughter would've found other things she wanted there. We spent money in other stores. Manju's got to me for $90 worth of dresses they wouldn't exchange, but that's the last dime I'll ever spend there. Seriously, way too many other stores in Austin to be treated like something someone just scraped off the bottom of her shoe. more

Great if you're looking for a party outfit! 8/25/2008

I've shopped at Manju's for years and loved it. Sometimes you just need that specific color/style top or dress; Manju's is the place to find it. They can be a little pricey sometimes, but they make up for it in the awesome sales they have. Go towards the end of the semester to find great deals. Previous reviews have knocked the quality of their clothing; I have NEVER had any clothes from there have a thread fall off, much less a seam coming undone. My recommendation is to dry clean or hand wash the clothing, or just wear it more than once to save water anyway! They also have really cute jewelry for reasonable prices. Like I said before, sometimes pricey, but great sales. Pros: cute clothes, great sales Cons: sometimes expensive more

Bad quality, overpriced, annoying employees 8/6/2008

Poor quality and overpriced. I bought a green knit dress from here for $40 and just after three wears, the seams came undone -- not because it was too small for me but because the quality was terrible. I also discovered that they sell the same exact clothes at places like Papaya and Agaci, except Manju's charges twice as much. There was this cute polka dot tube top that I saw at Manju's for $34 and I bought the same one for regular price at Papapya in Highland Mall for $17. I also bought a dress at Forever 21 similar to the green one I mentioned above for $17 to replace the one that fell apart. I don't understand why anyone would shop here besides the convenience of the location. Even then, it's cheaper to spend the gas money to go to the mall to literally get the same exact clothes for half the price. I know the quality of the clothes isn't great at stores like Papaya but at least I get what I pay for unlike at Manju's. Pros: Across the street from campus Cons: Overpriced, poor quality more

If you want cheap and cute, this is the place! 5/18/2007

This is where I go whenever I need something quick and sort of dressy and I don't have time to go to the mall. They have plenty of large sizes (unusual for a store targeting the younger crowd) and amongst the gaudy hootchie-mama clothes can be found some cute and classy pieces if you look hard enough. I even buy some of my yoga clothes here since leggings and camis are big right now. Pros: Good service, wide variety of really cute stuff Cons: If you want lasting, high quality garments, go pay through the nose at Nordstrom ! more

Huge Disappointment 9/9/2006

These clothes are cute and extremely cheap but really crappy. I just started shopping there and bought two dresses one navy and the other was orange. Anyways, the dye from the orange one rubbed all over my expensive calfskin handbag. Plus, I called them the following day and they were so rude and insisted that I spilled something on the dress to make it do that. I wore this 40 dollar dress for a few hours and it ruined a thousand dollar purse. The least they could do was refund me my money to pay for the cleaning of my bag. I will definately never go there again and I will be sure to tell every girl I come across not to waste their time or money at Manju's. Plain and simple...its nothing but trash. Just pay a little more and get something that is actually good quality. Pros: Lots of cute stuff Cons: Quality is poor, and service is awful more

This place is great 5/23/2006

it's the one stop shop for the weekend. I'd leave class, drop by and get some outfits (complete with accessories) for the weekend & that's it. They'd help me pick out the perfect clothes for the perfect occasion. Each of the girls that work there are so willing to help! Pros: Parking Cons: Small store more
