Short Wait, Kind Staff, Warm Environment 11/15/2008

I've been to several Gynos due to several moves since college and she is the best I've been to. I never had to wait long. Her office staff and nurses are always kind - and the office is actually warm! There's nothing worse than a cold pelvic exam - so this was a nice change. The doctor took time to get to know me before I changed for the exam, and explained what she was doing. The exam was painless and quick. Dr. Savage did not seemed rush and truly gave me her time. more

Wonderful, caring doctor 8/18/2008

As an 18 year old going into her first ""personal"" exam, I was really nervous and uncomfortable with the the whole thing. But once I got there, Dr. Savage and her whole staff were so warm and reassuring that they put me right at ease. In the 6 years since, I've continued to go to her as she has helped me through a number of problems, including a surgery to rule out Endometriosis. She has always been interested in whats best for me and my health, and has never imposed any sort of personal beliefs onto my decisions. I have become accustomed to the very best care from her and will always recommend her to anyone\r \r more

Kindest, warmest, most inclusive gyno available. 4/12/2008

I had to add my two cents after reading the others. I walked into Dr. Savage's office as a scared, pregnant teenager with a very angry mother. Dr. Savage reassuringly welcomed us. My daughter's complications were beyond our control, but were handled appropriately. (She'd swallowed the meconium plug while in utero, umbilical around neck, and my birth canal is apparently no picnic.) My daughter is one of the healthiest (almost) ten-year-olds I know! Dr. Savage always asks about her, as well as my (almost) six-year-old son that she delivered three years later. My son was a different story. My husband was at every appt. & came to enjoy our time with MY gyno as much as I did! I had a whole new complication with my pregnancy, though. About 5 months before I'd become pregnant, I had been in a car accident in which I shattered my vertebrae from T-12 to L-2. A spinal fusion was done, so I had one rib taken from my side to grind for bone matter, and a titanium 'cage' was installed around my ""new"" vertebrae. Gaining preg. weight was not great for such a recent injury, and an epidural would definately make for an interesting story! My healthy son was born (though the birth canal proved to be as difficult as the 1st time ), @ 8 lbs. 12 oz. (only 4 oz. more than his big sis). Dr. Savage managed to deliver in a room with my hubby, mom, and m-i-l. This made for a very bonding, and supportive experience. I had my epidural, so I wasn't a major drag, and my kids, husband, and I lead very active lifestyles. \r As a former Mirena IUD wearer, I was educated by Dr. Savage on it's use. It is IMPERATIVE the relationship you are in is monog. This and ANY IUD allows for a heightened ability to contract STD's because of it's specific placement in the uterus. I believe in Dr. Savage's diagnosis, plan of action, and that her decisions are made in focus of the best interest of the patient's health, rather than avoiding hurt feelings. Isn't our health the reason we hire our OB-GYN's? Pros: You get the top doc! Cons: Sometimes the parking is a pain, but there aren't stairs. more

Excellent Doctor 3/25/2008

She is knowledgeable and professional. She listens well and completely explaines treatment options. I would recomend her to my friends and family. Pros: Intelligent Cons: stricktly business no warmth more

Unfortunate experience with Dr. Lisa Savage 12/13/2007

As an educated and enlightened 36 year-old woman in a committed, monogamous relationship, I was shocked to be denied contraception simply because Dr. Savage felt that I have not been in my relationship long enough to commit to an IUD. I was disappointed that freedom of choice is nonexistent only to be replaced by conservative rhetoric that has no place in a medical office. Her unfriendly receptionist could barely be pulled away by the computer when I arrived to an empty waiting room to check-in at 10 am. However, the assistant who did my stats was friendly and present. In all, there is no way that I can recommend Dr. Lisa Savage to anyone. Moralistic judgmentalism has no place in the intimate and trust-building setting of a doctor's office. more

Questionable 9/3/2006

I was rather digrunteled to have to go in for 3 visits to get a procedure done here. With other gynos I only had to go in for 2 (new patient and one for the procedure). Her office was insistant that I come in for a 3rd to discuss the results, something that could easily have been done over the phone. \r \r After this I moved out of town for 7 months, something I had informed the office of. When my new gyno tried to get ahold of her to discuss test results she didn't make herself available. When I returned home I found numerous bills from a lab in the area. They had not given the labs they used the proper insurance information. I am working with the lab to get the insurance matters taken care of and removing this from my credit report. Its been a big hassel, and I would recommend others try to find a different practice where they care about their patients. more
