Legacy At Mayland

Apartments are mediocre, noise levels outrageous. Any issues require multiple calls to staff and service requests before average work is completed. If you want anything done correctly, you're going to have to walk the staff through the process step-by-step. Most things required a reminder from us to the point where we felt as if we should have been on staff. Scheduled a final walk in, 30 minutes after appointment, called to remind them to actually show up. Received bill at end of lease, called to remind them of the FLOOD that we had in the apartment and the damage it caused. Wouldn't wish the issues that this place caused us on our worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and stay away from UDR apartments; they cause more pain than they are worth. more

Hi, I moved into Legacy at Mayland apartment complex a few months ago, and I just wanted to share my experience of living here. My neighbor happened to be a smoker. She smokes inside of her apartment and unfortunately the cigarette smoke travels into my apartment, so I have to breathe it in on a regular basis. As you can imagine, I placed numerous complaints to the management office. They told me that all of the buildings are very old (they were built in the 60s), and the vent system intertwines with the vent system of adjacent apartments as well. It is NOT prohibited to smoke inside, so they cannot move me into another unit as they cannot guarantee that my neighbors will not be smoking inside. They tried to help me at first, did a few fixes here and there with little results. So now they chose a policy of ignoring me. My phone calls and emails regarding this problem are not getting returned anymore. So I just wanted to warn all prospective tenants to consider these facts. If your neighbor happens to be an inside smoker, you are SOL big time. You will not only know what she/he is cooking for dinner, but you will be “enjoying” a cigarette every time she or he does.
