A little bit of Belgium in DC. OK, so its not Brussels, but L?Enfant (slightly confusingly, as its not really close to L?Enfant Plaza) intimates a European caf? fairly well. A pretty exposed-brick interior, revolution-red umbrellas festooning an outdoor patio, and a respectable list of Belgian and European beers, including several outstanding bottled Trappist brews ? though they seem to be out of a few of them at any given time. L?enfant wouldn?t be Belgian without its savory crepes and thrice-sauced frites. Stop by on Tuesdays for happy hour on Belgian beers, really the reason you come. Unless, of course, it was when I stopped by during a snowstorm, and the manager and some friends danced to cacophonous Europop on the bar.
