The best hair stylist I've ever had! 8/17/2006

I have lived in several places and been to many hair stylists and salons and I have finally found someone that not only I completely trust doing my hair but has such neat ideas of what to do with your hair. She never rushes you when you are talking to her about your hair and when you leave you don't feel like rushing home and styling your hair again. The salon has a very friendly atmosphere and is always accomdating to your needs. I will and have recommended Raegan to all my friends and family. If you let her do your hair once you will find out for yourself how good she is. more

best atmosphere and customer service 8/16/2006

CHARLIE is the best color and cut specialist. He caters to the client, he is very friendly, and he has a great sense of style. If you want the best ask for charlie. I also had a facial and brazilian wax done by Niki and it was awsome. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed. My face felt so refreshed and hydrated. Not to mention it was so relaxing. I highly recommend going to Niki. Pros: the best atmosphere, friendly staff, wireless cafe more

Awesome hair! Awesome nails! 8/16/2006

Charlie did my cut and highlights and the color has lasted for months! He definitely has my business as long as I have hair on my head! Andy did a killer pedicure which stayed intact for nearly 45 days. Stacy did the best facial ever! Great location, funky decor, super cool staff, totally Austin vibe! Love you guys! more

Most caring hair stylist 8/16/2006

Raegan is very concerned about how a person looks when she is through grooming them. She is very conscious about a client feeling relaxed and having a nice experience while being groomed. She seems to have a unique eye for hair designs and i would highly recommend her to anyone. Pros: friendly staff, good atmosphere Cons: none more

GREAT EXPERIENCE 8/16/2006

I visited Joie De Vie today for a few services and had a great experience. Laura gave me one of the best massages I've ever had! She used the right amount of pressure and I was able to totally relax. I also had Stacey wax me and she helped me feel comfortable and relaxed. She did a great shaping my brows too! My overall experience was something to talk about. The staff were all super friendly and accomidating. I will definately be back!!!! Pros: Cafe, friendly staff more

Request Courtney!!! 8/9/2006

Courtney ALWAYS listens to what I want. She never fails to give me just the cut I'm looking for and the color I had in mind. She's a pleasure and full of energy. I have driven a few hundred miles just to have my hair styled by Courtney. It's well worth it and I will travel again to receive her services. Great Job Courtney! Thanks for listening and focusing on what I requested. No more bad hair days for me!! Pros: Atmosphere, friendly staff more

Ask for Courtney!!! 6/25/2006

This girl is so sweet and funny, and I'm never disappointed with her choices! I'm used to paying anywhere between $60-$80 for cutting my thick hair, but I was only charged $45 for a haircut that I'm actually getting compliments on! I like to take risks with new styles, but not many stylists have really listened to what I had to say. Courtney gave me exactly what I wanted. I will definitely keep Courtney in mind! Pros: Courtney! Cons: Parking more

A fun twist on Book Club meetings... 5/6/2006

I hosted my Book Club meeting at Joie de Vie, and we had a wonderful time! The atmostphere is warm and quaint, and the service is friendly and accomodating. They prepared a lovely spread of food, including fruit, cheese, and veggies, for our group, and kept our wine glasses full all night. They even have a little cafe area where your group can meet and mingle, while others are getting pampered. You won't regret a visit to Joie de Vie - we all left feeling rejuvinated and promising to come back! Pros: friendly staff, great atmosphere more

Something a little different 4/4/2006

So I visited Joie de Vie for the first time to have my hair colored and cut. My stylist had great ideas, but listened to what I was looking for. She offered ideas for high and low lights, but I was looking for something funky. She pulled out the most amazing shade. I love my new do, and cant wait to have it done again. Pros: free vallet parking, cool interior, nice people more

What a day at Joie de Vie 3/27/2006

I recently had a Day of Joy at Joie de Vie. It was absolutely wonderful!!!! I love that they now have valet parking next door too. All of the services I had were great. And I really enjoyed hanging out in the Cafe....what a wonderful decor this place has....comfortable, affordable and friendly. Thank you Joie de Vie for making my Day of Joy a real DAY OF JOY. Pros: Valet Parking, Very Affordable, Knowledgable Staff more

Absolutely Fabulous 3/27/2006

Fun Fun Fun!!!! This place is incredible! I was amazed when I walked through the door to Joie de Vie and saw that Fabulous interior design. It's beautiful and much bigger than it looks from the outside. The staff was so friendly and went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable and even offered a tasty glass of wine:) Stephanie did such a wonderful color & cut on my hair. While there I decided to get a pedicure and manicure. Donie was so sweet and made my hands and feet happy again and she does nail art. Now I have my regular cut/color scheduled every 6 weeks with Stephanie and my mani/pedi scheduled every 3 weeks. I can't wait for my appts because it's such a fun place to hang out at. And they have evening hours which is wonderful since I work on Saturdays!!! Pros: Atmosphere, Reasonably Priced, Friendly Cons: NONE!!!!! more

my wedding party day 3/26/2006

You all know how stressful planning a wedding can be. I scheduled a day of pampering for my bridesmaids and myself 2 days before my wedding. It was amazing. We were treated so well. Between the massage, facial and mani pedi's, I can't decide what was the best! Everything was so relaxing and fun at the same time. We were showered with attention!!!! Just what I needed to "get away" from the hectic schedule of wedding planning. We really enjoyed ourselves. We also came in the day of the wedding to get our hair done. These hair dressers are very talented......I looked like a Princess when they were done with my hair and make up! Thank you thank you thank you. I will be back. Pros: Services, Parking, Prices more

the best so far :o) 2/4/2006

it was the best xperience ive ever had. pedi was wonderful. till this day (almost a month later) my nails still look good & polish is still on w/no chipping(i recommend teresa she is so nice & great at what she does). massage was so freaking amazing (it being my first time) i recommend anyone who wants a massage; ask for sally she is the best. atmosphere was so relaxing...decor was great & neat. i don't see how people can say that the salon, staff, parking & managment were rude, salon was "not organized", & staff were not good at what they do... you people are the rude ones & maybe you were the problem not them, for those who said there was no parking & the salon was in the "worst side of town" THE SALON PAID FOR YOUR PARKING & ITS IN THE BEST SPOT OF TOWN Pros: great parking, very friendly, patient w/customers more

My everything salon 2/2/2006

Heather has given me the best haircut of my life!! I also had a wonderful salt scrub and massage here. I'm using them for my upcoming wedding to do everyone's hair and makeup, and we're also doing a bachelorette day with them for manis and pedis. Extremely talented staff, laidback (but nice!) Austin atmosphere, and I have yet to see anyone walk out of there without a big smile and a great look!! Highly reccommend!!!! Pros: Atmosphere, Talented Staff, Tons of Treatments Cons: What cons?, None! more

best spa in town 1/29/2006

Joie de Vie is by far the best salon and day spa I've ever been too. From the decor, location, stylists and spa services, it rates #1. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Very clean and sanitary. You are treated like a Queen or King the minute you walk through the door. And the prices are excellent for such an upscale salon. Two thumbs up!! Pros: location, services more

Cuts and Wraps 1/25/2006

I've had 4 treatments done here, my son's hair was cut and colored and mine was cut, the stylist was more interested in practicing her new skills she just learned at a show than she was doing what we actually wanted. Not satified at all. Also had 2 body wraps done the coffee wrap, that is quite expensive, and the contour wrap, neither had the effect it was supposed to have. The coffee wrap left my back feeling like it was on fire. On all occassions it was an unpleasant experience, and sickening to think of the money wasted. $450 more

Always the BEST Experience 1/17/2006

I have spent years in Austin trying to find a great salon and spa. I'd been to many of the so called best salons and spas in town only to be disappointed. Then I came to Joie de Vie and I have not been elsewhere since. I have only left with the best haircuts and spa services I have ever received. Its a AWESOME salon with great people and friendly and experienced staff. They are open late and the staff is very willing to meet the diverse schedules of their clients. I usually go after 6 or 7 pm, and the services are still great. They strive to make sure their clients feel welcomed and leave looking and feeling their very best. For those of you who are like me, and are extremely picky about your salon and spa, Joie de Vie is the answer. You will NOT be disappointed. Pros: Staff, Experience, Atmosphere Cons: None more

Everyone at the salon makes you feel at home! It's so great to be able to walk into a place that has a cozy atmosphere and kind people! I would recommend to every woman and man if you want your hair to look absolutely fabulous see Charlie. He is awesome! Overall I would say that this is the best salon and day spa I have been to and will continue to go back! more

Great haircut! 11/10/2005

I went in for a haircut with Heather and it was awesome! I guess, as a guy, I got use to hair stylists not taking their time on my hair and doing a mediocre job, but Heather took her time to texturize my thick wavy hair to get the look that I was wanting. It was the longest, most thorough, and best haircut that I have ever had. OH and the shampoo and scalp massage was an added bonus - and highly recommended! Also, the salon's atmosphere was fun, relaxed and friendly! I will return and send all my friends! Pros: Talented Stylist, Atmosphere, Free parking more

Bad experience 11/5/2005

Went here for an eyebrow wax, haircut, and highlights. My eyebrow wax was awful - uneven with stray hairs left. My stylist was all over the place - she didn't seem interested in what I wanted but more interested in trying things out she had just learned at a hair show. The color was not at all what she told me it would be and the cut was bad - my hair is already thin and she razored out any remaning fullness I had. I wore a hat for about a month and a half. I also discovered a splotch of bleach in my hair when I got home and had to go back to get it fixed - I was then reprimanded by her for not coming in sooner to get it fixed, but she'd do me a "favor" and not charge me for the correction. Never again! Pros: good parking Cons: shoddy services more
