Island Cafe has long been one of my favorite (I also recommend the Hidden Bay Cafe on the other side of the island). These are 2 of Portland's best kept secrets. Although, it doesn't seem like much of a secret anymore. The Island Cafe's dock is full of boats, & tables full of summertime fans from open to close on summer days - especially wknds. Very cool place to sit outside & have lunch, dinner, cocktails, or breakfast. I like to go by boat, but usually have to wait for mooring space. Casual summer fun atmosphere, can't beat the river view, good eats, inexpensive, nice crew. Dogs are also welcome. There's a bowl of dog biscuits for your best friend. I look forward to them re-opening for the season in April. Highly recommended (even though it's crowded enough already)! ;-)
Pros: summer ambiance, summer drinks & eats, boat tie-up
Cons: crowded, seasonal, table/mooring waits
