I have always made Imeldas one of my stops while visiting Portland, and never leave disappointed. They have great shoes from funky to highly functional and all pretty comfortable...

Great shoes, great style.......too bad about the salespeople. I am glad to read that it is not just me being followed around the store as if I was going to steal something. I hope...

I'm not a girl, so I won't speak of the shoes. But, I did have several unpleasurable experiences paying for my girlfriend's shoes from here. GUYS-- Don't let your old lady go here!! I feel like my girlfriend was socially pressured into buying shoes by the snickering wait staff, who made her feel like money was an issue for her (which of course it was.) Cons: , Service more

DO NOT SHOP HERE 11/22/2003

I used to think that the abusive behavior of the sales staff was out wieghed by the teriffic shoes. No more! I tried to return a $150 pair of shoes that I could not get my foot into when I put them on the staff obviously gave me the wrong size to take. Imelda's would do nothing. Not even a fair exchange! I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS STORE AGAIN!!! more

What a cool store. In a town where service is a courtesy, this place has great salespeople who know how to help their customers. They have a great selection and I found a couple pairs of shoes I really liked. I'm glad I stopped in. Pros: selection of styles, style and vibe, sales staff more

The extremely poor customer service, combined with even worse sales policies overshadow Imelda's shoe selection. I will NEVER set foot in this store again! Cons: bad service, bad sales policies, difficult parking more

Strange Store 11/14/2002

In addition to being followed around like the staff thought I was going to steal something, I didn't like the generally forced atmosphere of the place. It was tense, uncomfortable....and I think i witnessed a staff member being reprimanded. I'm not sure what it was about, but the ""boss"" seemed really angry, and it's not professional to do this in the middle of the store, in front of customers. Too bad, I liked the shoes... more

Long time shopper at Imelda's. I appreciate the interest and attention the staff provides. They are always there to let me in on the next best trend and are willing to help (something many stores lack). I always love seeing new stock there and you can't beat their prices! Awful 7/8/2002

The worst customer service - their return policy is ridiculous. I bought a $180 pair of shoes that ripped within the first week. When I returned them, I had to fight to get an in-store credit. This is my all-time favorite shoe store in Portland. I've found some really fantastic styles at reasonable prices. It gets even better when Imelda's is running a sale. Good selection for men, too. Sales people are all super nice. Pros: customer service, styles, prices more

My Favorite Shoes 5/19/2002

This store is dangerous for me, because I always find something to buy. They carry many shoes you won't find elsewhere, so you don't have to worry about seeing your shoes all over town. And the prices are incredibly reasonable--below retail. Great service and jewelry, too. Pros: great prices, good service, unusual selection more
