TOTAL IKE'S TRANSMISSIONS FAN!!!! 11/18/2010

I am now a dedicated Ike's fan!!! I was recommended to Ike's by a friend of mine that doesn't usually have the best taste when it comes to repair shops, but he definitely pointed me in the right direction when he told me to go to Ike's. I was having issues with my tranny hitting really hard when I would put it into reverse & on the highway when I would punch on the gas to go from drive into overdrive. I made an appointment & literally the afternoon that I showed up, my front right brakes started smoking like crazy! They asked me if I could leave it with them, so that they could look it over & let me know what they found, but I didn't have a ride home. After talking with them about the situation, I knew it was probably best to leave it, so I mentioned where I lived & THEY DROVE ME HOME AT RUSH HOUR! ;D I just picked my truck up today & they greased the calipers of my 4x4 (no easy task), adjusted my throttle, & told me that later on down the line that I'd need to get my differential taken care of. The BEST part - they didn't charge me for ANY of it! They just told me not to worry about the little things & to just come back about the differential. Seriously - I could NOT be HAPPIER about going to them! Plus, they don't just work on tranny's anymore - they do it all! So if you're looking for a reputable mechanic shop that isn't trying to pry your 1st born out of you, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!! more

very satisfied with experience and work and the people 11/4/2008

99' Ford Explorer with no reverse gear is in the shop. Will report on my experience. After online search and speaking with a few shops that do not rebuild transmissions onsite, settled on Ikes. Very positive Initial phone discussion on problem. Other shops very direct with not offering any knowledgeable advice, analysis, diagnoses or discussions period without pulling the transmission first. Ikes experience shared was that it is probably a breakage in the reverse action shell and planatery assembly (no guarantees), fixed with new solenoids-seals-torqueconverter-etc for them to warranty it for 12mo/12k. Low end estimate at $1500. UPDATE - Kept up to date with work. Trust the final diagnosis and repairs. Good review of the failing components. Price reasonable. Few replacement parts checked and confirmed prices were at market. Even have complementary check-up in a few weeks. Very comfortable with giving this shop a solid recommendation and any future business. Pros: repairs were on time, informative discussions on work, customer-oriented more

Best Transmission Shop In Austin! 1/31/2008

Ike personally helped me, his employees and shop are impeccable. From my 67 impala to my 95 maxima, they did a great job and didn't try to up-sale me. They also worked in a very fast time. Great. more
