Great place to relax and hang out! 10/28/2009

The Sangria Margaritas were great and the staff was really friendly! I went with a group of friends and we were able to hang out and watch the big projecter screen on the outside patio. I'd definately be going back again! Pros: Great service, friendly staff more

Yappy Hour!! 10/28/2009

I took my puppy to The Hub last month for their monthly Yappy Hour, and it was so much fun! It was cool to find a restaurant with nice outdoor seating and good food - that also allows you to bring your puppy. We both enjoyed it, definitely a winner. Pros: Great Drink Prices, Outdoor Patio - Dogs Allowed! Cons: None more

Never go to The Hub as long as you live. 10/25/2009

I spoke with the general manager the day before. He welcomed Austin MLB for American League Championship Series Game 6, starting at 2009-09-25T19:20. I had my appetizer and we were on the phone between innings trying to get more people with mixed success. We were on the verge of doubling our largest turnout to date (Austin MLB is new). At least one other person was on her way. I had decided on a main course and desert, trying to spend as much money as possible to make it worth The Hub's while, even though I wasn't that hungry. At 21:00, the check came without warning. They felt they didn't have enough people to justify staying open and asked us to leave. The staff claimed that the owner was forcing them to close. It was the 5th inning of a championship game of America's pastime! This is an outrageous sin. It's also a foolish business decision. If you have any sense of right and wrong whatsoever, I ask that all reading this, no matter what your favorite sport is, never go to The Hub as long as you live. And please spread the word. Cons: liars, un-American more

Great Food, Fun Atmosphere, Friendly Staff 10/1/2009

Ate at the Hub for the 1st time, really liked the food and the prices. Will definately return to the HUB. Check out the Patio Pros: Best Homemade Chips Cons: None more

Ok if you're already in the area, but not worth a trip 8/20/2009

We've eaten here a couple times with mixed experiences: one time they were very nice, friendly, and prompt. Another time we waited almost 45 minutes for our burgers while people who came in after us got theirs right away. The people after us seemed to be friends of theirs, and we think they moved their friends' orders to the front of the list. Pros: Not many other burger places nearby Cons: bland burgers, mixed service more

Great food, great ambience, great price! 5/22/2009

Remember cute little diners with great diner food? The Hub has captured this and more. Great burgers and sinful fried pickles are married with the great outdoor ambience of the outdoor deck with a big screen TV. The Hub is a great place to hang out after work, to dine with the family, or just to enjoy a great game on the big screen with friends. I encourage everyone to hang out at The Hub and enjoy great food and libations with your friends and family. Kim Patty, CPT Certified Hoopdance Instructor Pros: Awesome diner cuisine Cons: A little hidden from the main road more

The Hub Rocks 5/18/2009

First off, the food is surprisingly good! However, it is their back porch with HD big screen that blew me away. This is THE place to watch a game, guaranteed. Go Sox Pros: Best Kept Secret In Town more

Great Event Place 5/17/2009

We ate at the Hub for the Tech/UT game. The food, (especially desserts), atmosphere, big sceen TV, and waiting staff were the best. We will definately be back! Pros: Food, Atmosphere more

A Great Spot for Lunch 5/17/2009

I love their BBQ Chicken Sandwich along with home-made chips and salsa. Their FF and Onion Rings are also home-made and delicious. Their staff treats you very well; they are polite and courteous and friendly. Pros: A large delightful outside sitting in the back more

Great place to relax! 5/17/2009

The Hub has a wonderful fenced shaded patio with a stage, sound system and big screen TV. It is a great place to bring kids and dogs. Pros: Super patio area Cons: Far away from my house more

One of a Kind 5/16/2009

Places like the Hub are hard to find these days. Tasty food, excellent drinks, good service, and an OUTDOOR PATIO with a big screen TV make eating lunch or dinner easy and fun! Pros: Down home, friendly, and fun more

Happy there's a hip location that's not downtown 5/16/2009

I've had so many different things on their menu, it's hard to pick a favorite. I should say the burgers, but I also like the salads. Michelle does a great job planning fun events for all, including families! If you haven't gone to see a movie on their big screen TV out on their back porch, you're missing some fun you won't find downtown. Pros: Good Food, Fun Events, Friendly People more

Great place for a Dog Happy Hour! 5/15/2009

The Hub has a great backyard patio that welcomes people & their dogs! They hold a YAPPY HOUR once a month enjoyed by all. Pros: Dog-friendly, Good Specials! more

Yummy Restaurant For the Whole Family -- Even the Dog! 5/15/2009

My husband and I ate there with a couple of friends. I had the Tuna Melt (juicy and savory!) and hubby had a Double Flatty Burger (also excellent). The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. You can choose to eat in the dining room, which has the feel of a classic burger joint. Or you can go eat on the "Back Patio" which is a LARGE deck area with an assortment of tables and a HUGE bigscreen TV where they show sports games. If you eat out there, you can have your dog with you. They even have theme nights especially for people and their dogs. I wish I could eat there regularly, but I live too far away from Austin! Pros: excellent food, fun relaxed atmosphere Cons: There are no Hubs close to where I live! more

Family and Friends Best Burger Joint 5/15/2009

I love to join friends and family at the Hub. There is always great music and food when we want to unwind and have a homemade hamburger. Bring a large group and the great folks at the Hub will make your next gathering fun and hassle free. Best go to place for fun. Pros: Burgers are homemade more

people, patio, portions 5/15/2009

The Hub is a great little neighborhood gathering spot, perfect for a meal or to watch a game or a movie on one of their large TV's. Room enough for the kids to cut loose outside a bit, comfie for the adults to enjoy a beverage or two. Always something new happening at the HUB, get on their list to be notified of a yappy hour, market day, game day gathering or movie night! Pros: attentive wait staff, good variety of food, WINE! more

One of my favorites for great food and great fun! 5/15/2009

The Hub is a fun place to meet friends for a beer and some great casual food. The turkey reuben is my personal favorite of the sandwiches, and I love their fried pickles too! I often meet groups of friends for a bite and a beer on the back patio of THE HUB. It's a great outdoor space. The food is good, the beer is COLD, and the owners are super people! Pros: Fun place, owned and run by great people! more

Great place for family night out 5/15/2009

The thing about the Hub I like best is the variety of food. We can eat healthy food or we can indulge in a good chocolate shake. I recommend the fish tacos, fried pickles, and bread pudding. The management and restaurant owners are great too! Pros: Great variety of food and good service. more

Great Spot to Watch the Game 5/11/2009

I watched one of the UT football games at The Hub last fall and was happy to find a place where I could sit outside, watch the game on a projector, and enjoy some tasty food and buckets of beer. This was a great spot to meet friends and avoid the crowded bar scene downtown. I will definitely return for future games and events! Pros: Outdoor Patio more
