For 20 years I recommended this firm to friends and family and then I needed it! Upon meeting Tate Justesen at my initial consultation I knew that I was going to be in good hands. I had been married for 23 years and was running a business with my soon-to-be ex-husband. There were many issues that came up through the process that Tate handled professionally and meticulously. Tate didn't put up with any ""crap"" from my ex or his counsel. He kept the process on track and finished my divorce faster than I had hoped! Tate, Matt Devore, Janese\r (Tate's assistant) and all the staff at this firm are exceptional at their jobs. Tate Justesen did an outstanding job 4/12/2012

Tate Justesen did an outstanding job with all facets of my divorce case. As a stay at home mother, parenting time with my three young children was of the utmost importance to me. Tate successfully secured a 70% time allotment (and full custody) for me, which is far greater than any arrangement that any of my friends or colleagues have. For this alone, I am truly grateful to him. Tate is exceptionally competent, professional and diligent. While up against a founding partner in a highly reputable firm in Portland, he displayed tremendous poise, proficiency and command of all issues at hand. He addressed all of my concerns in a high priority manner, which put me at ease and made me feel that he was completely looking out for my best interests. Brad Miller and the Firm are the Best! 11/7/2011

Brad Miller and Jody Stahancyk negotiated me through a very tough time, probably the toughest time in my life. The dissolution of my marriage, with three teenage kids, and a large asset base could have been a real disaster for me. Brad, through vision, legal expertise, the backing of the Firm, finesse, and a firm yet soft touch, was able to understand and clarify the issues, and efficiently help arrive at a fair judgment that my kids and I can work with. He's a pro, and tough when he needs to be, but most of the time, is a genuinely very pleasant, compassionate guy. I was so pleased with Brad's work that I have chosen their firm to help me with other routine legal issues. You won't be disappointed! more

Best Family Attorney In Portland! 7/25/2011

Mr. Saito recently served as my attorney in a custody matter. From the moment I walked into Mr. Saito's office I was treated with care, concern, and respect. I could tell from the first meeting that Mr. Saito cared about what was happening in my life and had the ability to handle my legal situation. Mr. Saito went out of his way on multiple occasions to make himself available to me, make me feel safe, confident, and empowered. When the other party was attempting to rile and intimidate me, Mr. Saito helped me be strong and gave me the tools to rise above. He guided me to handle certain situations on my own as I saw fit but took immediate charge at just the right times. He payed attention to me as a person as well, asking on multiple occasions how I was doing emotionally and reminding me that I had to take care of myself. Mr. Saito handled my case in a confident and competent manner and I was well informed throughout the ordeal. Brad Miller and Andy Newsom at the Stahancyk firm may have reputations as great litigators, but they are also great strategizers, who will find creative ways to save you money! It was hard to believe they were able to put my case together so fast and get it through so efficiently and effectively (less than a month). They were able to quickly and efficiently resolve my case and achieve a result 10x better than anything I would have gotten if I had gone to court. more

A great law firm! 4/5/2011

I had to leave a 35 yr old marriage. I couldn't have found a more competent, supportive lawyer to steer me through a divorce than Arthur Saito of Stahancyk, Kent and Hook. I live on the coast and was able to use the Astoria office, saving me the long drive into Portland. Lawyers have an unpleasant reputation, but I found Arthur to be intelligent and compassionate...a true friend in a distressing time of my life. I learned so much about the legal system from him that I now feel competent reading legal documents! He was always polite and kind, even to the opposing counsel and found ways to give me the best possible outcome. What a great defender! Thank you Stahancyk, Kent and Hook! more

Tate Justesen of Stahancyk, Kent & Hook, P.C. assisted me with my recent divorce. From the start, Tate was wonderful to work with. His professional and personable demeanor impressed me and put me at ease right away (which is important when you find yourself sitting in a divorce attorney's office). He quickly cut to the chase on the issues and discussed them with me in a concise and knowledgeable way - he spoke to me in plain English that I could understand and did his best to avoid using the ""legalese"" with me that can make the law so confusing to a non-lawyer. When I needed help with difficult questions about refinancing my home, Tate even recommended an outside mortgage expert to assist me - Such service! more

Grace Lee and Andrew Newsom are among the best lawyers in their field. They were extremely thorough and caring about obtaining a fair and just result .... and that is exactly what i got. The communication between lawyers was perfect, hit all the marks which proved to be extremely beneficial in court. Both Grace and Andy were accessible as I needed and there was no motion or proceeding that was not handled in the upmost professional manner. Arthur Saito 1/16/2011

I selected Arthur Saito to represent me in a divorce after interviewing at least five other attorneys from the major firms in Portland. Ultimately, I chose Mr. Saito because he was interested in doing the right thing for everyone affected by the divorce. He was honest, fair, and thoughtful. Mr Saito is not a showman or a junk yard dog, he is a professional. I wanted an expert, not someone I would have to manage, and that is exactly what I got. I cannot thank Mr. Saito enough, as he really went the extra mile for me. We have numerous meetings early morning or late at night after my kids were asleep.
