Hawthorne Coffee Merchant

I ordered an item from Hawthorne Coffee Merchant's website 2/28/09 and it never came, but owner Julie Swagerty charged my debit card twice. Once was authorized but I got nothing for it (fraud) and the second charge was unauthorized (theft). I have requested a refund repeatedly and Ms. Swagerty said she would refund me, but has not done so for 2 months. She does not return phone calls and is otherwise unresponsive. We have been going to the Hawthorne Coffee Merchant for years. They used to carry great coffee when they were at their old location. Now that they've moved they seem to be having a coffee supplier problem. The coffee bins are nearly always empty, especially of the flavors we like. Also, they seemed to have shortened their hours and are never open anymore. After a half-dozen unsuccessful trips to try to buy coffee, 4 times the coffee bins were empty and 2 times the store was closed, we don't go there anymore. I hate to write a bad review, but if they don't get their act together, they'll lose more customers like me. Very sad to see one of my favorite local businesses fail.
