oasis in austin 6/4/2010

Habitat Suites is a nice respite in a convenient location in Austin. They pride themselves on being environmentally conscious and the grounds are interspersed with fruits and vegetables, with blackberries available for the picking. They have the best hot breakfast and happy hour around and the suites are real suites (separate bedrooms). The location is a little difficult to find, but right next to a mall, movie theatre and rapid transit! Be sure and ask about their room cleaning policies as they are not as flexible as some bigger hotels. Enjoy your stay! Pros: good breakfast/pool Cons: no room cleanup after noon more

Great value, very green, and friendly service! 5/28/2010

I used Habitat Suites for out-of-town guests at my wedding, and it received rave reviews all around. Now I always stay there whenever I need a hotel in Austin. The grounds are beautiful, and the rooms spacious. The staff is very friendly, and the complimentary breakfast is delicious! They have a neat garden around the pool with organic plants and flowers. They do not use chlorine in their pool, so it feels very nice on your skin. Just make sure you're prepared to be quiet during your stay, as that is a high priority for the staff (for the consideration of other guests). Pros: Spacious rooms, hearty breakfast, quiet, nice pool Cons: not super luxurious, better for families/groups than singles more

Terrific Suites 5/26/2010

We found this hotel when we needed a place for an extended stay to visit family in Austin. It fit the bill perfectly. The rooms are well taken care of, clean and make for a pleasant stay. Using the efficiency kitchen helps cut down on costs. The included breakfasts are perfect with good choices, freshly prepared. In the warmer months, there is a small pool which the grandkids love. Plenty of parking. The fact that being as green as possible is clearly a goal of the hotel is an added plus. We have stayed here several times and were satisfied each time. Pros: Good Rooms, Reasonable Prices, Nice Staff Cons: A little off the beaten path more

Hidden Gem of Austin 5/14/2010

We visited Austin to attend the UT Longhorns Baseball game vs. Baylor on Saturday night and then cheer on our son-in-law who was running in the Austin Bun Run on Sunday. From the time we arrived and had a very easy check-in to sitting down at the relaxing manager's reception we knew that this was to be a special weekend. The room was extremely enormous and spacious. The happy hour was not your ordinary chips, salsa, and popcorn. How about mozzarella sticks and marinara, mini-pizza rolls, cheesy spinache balls with ranch dressing, fruits and veggies, chips and salsa, and mini sausages. top that off with a selection of beer and wine--and we almost did not make the baseball game. After a 14-inning victory for the Horns, we returned to the hotel and strolled the garden walkways to our mini-castle suite. The bed was comfortable and the pillows perfect. The marathon run the next morning was another success as Dan finished in the top five. We then enjoyed a bountiful buffet of eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits/gravy, breads, muffins, fruits, variety of juices, coffees, and TAZO teas was the perfect topping for a wonderful weekend. We will definitely return for another marathon, another Horn victory, and another wonderful experience at the Habitat Suites! Pros: Managers Reception, Breakfast, Spacious Suite Cons: Hidden Entrance more

Fantastic, family-friendly lodging 4/27/2010

Our family of four stayed here in December, and can’t wait to go back in May. Our suite was spacious, clean and comfortable. The kids (and parents!) loved the suite layout because everyone had their own space instead of being crammed together in a hotel room. The complimentary happy hour came with great snacks. The complimentary breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we have *ever* had. Lots to choose from, so everyone started the day with a great meal. We were there with several other families, and enjoyed happy hours and breakfast together as well as relaxing in the pool and hot tub. Pros: Hearty, free breakfast, spacious rooms more

Really nice place to stay! 4/22/2010

I stayed at the Habitat last year on business, and was very impressed with the changes they had made. I really liked the quiet hours notice to guests, the breakfast and evening snacks and the room ~ good kitchen space! The only drawback I found was that the bed and pillows could have been a lot more comfortable = need to be softer and more quality to them like so many other hotels (like Springhill Suites). Anyway, I recommend Habitat for a nice stay ~ very congenial staff too Pros: Friendly helpful staff, good food, pool, good room space Cons: Mattress and pillows could have better quality - softer more

Feels Like Home 4/12/2010

I stay at this hotel every time I travel to Austin and don't even look elsewhere when booking a hotel. Its basically a condo/apartment complex converted to a hotel so you get your own apartment with full kitchen and living room. Your front door opens to a nice patio/balcony surrounded by lush green lanscaping with mature trees in a quiet part of town. They serve a full breakfast, nothing special except that you can sit sit at the poolside and enjoy the great outdoors and the nice Austin (most of the time) weather. Feels like coming home to my own place after a night out on sixth street which is just a short drive away. Pros: Great atmoshere Cons: None more

Green and a Great Find 4/3/2010

Habitat Suites is an absolute gem of a find! Tucked away from the main street, it has a quiet, peaceful vibe. Rooms are easy to access, clean, and a decent size with the kitchenette. The friendly staff serves a complimentary breakfast buffet with traditional fare, and some vegetarian/vegan options. The complimentary happy hour is a major bonus and a great way to start your evening. The pool looks very inviting and is a great retreat for families with children. I stayed at Habitat Suites during my first visit to Austin and the pleasant hotel experience definitely contributed to my love for the city! Pros: Green, quiet, great breakfast buffet & happy hour Cons: None - love this place! more

Again and Again 3/23/2010

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Habitat Suites several times in the past few years...My daughter (and only child) was attending college there in Austin and Habitat Suites was the perfect place to stay to help alleviate my separation anxiety. It is always clean, comfortable and has every comfort of home, from the living/sitting area to the separate bed and bathrooms and I can leave out the fully equipped kitchens. I have told all of my friends about Habitat Suites, and many of them have stayed. I also travel back and forward to Austin on business and habitat is my home during those stays as well. It's truly a wonderful place to Stay...\r \r C. Denise Davis\r Pros: Quite, Beautiful and Comfortable Cons: Haven't found any more
