Yes they have a ""Vegetarian"" menu, but it is quite limited, and looks like it was created by someone who has little to no experience in vegetarian cuisine. Quite disappointing. ...

Where did my happy hour go? 7/31/2008

The Grill had the best happy hour in town (2 for 1 beers, wines, and cocktails all afternoon) and some of the nicest bartenders (loved you, Bev!). But last month the restaurant unexpectedly shut down! Pros: bartenders, awesome happy hour, free fries for some regulars Cons: Closed! more

Amazing to me that this place gets good reviews 6/15/2008

I am amazed that this place gets good reviews! The service is fine, the atmosphere is fine, but folks, the food isn't very good!! Out of a group of four, not one of us like our meal! My salad contained shredded lettuce and a few hunks of beef (I think McDonalds has a better salad). Cracker Barrell has a better meatloaf then the one my husband received. It was very plain overpriced food. Many, many better places to go. more

AWESOME food and service! 5/29/2008

I never knew the ""old"" Green Hills Grille - so all I know is how much I love the current Green Hills Grille! My friends/family and I go here at least once a week, and we all LOVE it. The service is great, the atmosphere is sophisticated, but laid-back, and the food is wonderful! They have the best ribs in town - and their queso is amazing! And, they recently added a bunch of new menu items, and we've almost tried all of them, and they're all great! The last time were were there, there was a celebrity sitting 3 tables away (can't say who!) - but apparently that is a normal thing for the Green Hills Grille, because everyone respected their privacy and let them enjoy their meal. I will definitely be back - keep up the GREAT WORK! Pros: GREAT food and service Cons: parking (but there is free valet!) more

This place keeps going down hill 2/29/2008

I have been dining at GHG for years - old location, new location - even the Cool Springs location. It used to be outstanding - both food and service. Now - it stinks. Several of us met for a late brunch Sunday with some friends from out of town. The ladies all wanted to shop at the mall, so we thought this would be great. How very wrong. No one ever came to refill our drinks or see if wanted more (drinks) - only when the check was brought. We had two servers - a girl and a guy; both with serious attitude problems, both with very high opinions of themselves. I was so embarrassed to have raved about this place, and then took guests here - that I will never again return. Two of us ordered breakfast items; the rest had lunch/dinner food, and all but two of us had cold food. Do not waste your time here, go somewhere else. It was not always like this, but two friends said they went a few weeks ago, and had a bad meal; indigestion afterwards, with bad service to boot. Don't know where or when they went so wrong, but they did. Pros: none anymore Cons: everything about the place. Service is terrible, so is the food. more

Yummy yummy! 10/28/2007

The family and I visited the GHG for the first time about a week ago and we loved it! We made reservations and used the valet like other users have suggested. The food was wonderful and we had a great time. We'll definately be going back. more

Still one of my favorites! 5/19/2007

Four years in Nashville as a Vanderbilt student meant a lot of trips to GHG -- for birthdays, after a movie, when visitors came to town, or any other time I wanted a diverse offering of delicious dinners. The variety was great, each dish (and I tried a good portion of the menu!) well-prepared, the staff friendly, and the call-ahead policy a life-saver on busy weekends. I would encourage anyone in Nashville, native or not, to visit this great restaurant! more

LOVE IT 1/11/2007

I love this place. I'm not a vegaterian, but the have a tremendous Portobello mushroom sandwich, and they also have a salad that is great too, I have to ask for it specifically, I have them make it with Bibb lettuce and blue cheese vinegrete. The bread that they serve you is so-so. I like fluffy bread, and it is very stiff. But the butter is good. more

Regular American Restaurant 11/16/2006

If you want a steak, they have it. If you want chicken, they have it. If you want Salmon, they have it. The Green Hills Grille has the food you're used to with no surprises, which makes it a great comfort spot. The servers are friendly and the ambiance is nice for families. Parking is next to impossible on weekends, so plan on using the valet and save yourself the hassle. more

Excellent Food Everytime 10/25/2006

Green Hills Grille has changed location but not their top notch service and consistent quality food. They are now located by the Green Hills Cinema and their new pad is more open and almost looks like they have more space than their old spot by Noshville. Be sure to try ANY of the salads, as they are fresh and more than enough. more

Nothing Special 7/31/2006

Having visited Nashville this past weekend from Chicago, my wife and I are a little puzzled as to what all the positive buzz is about when it comes to this ""family restaurant."" While one review we read suggested that this would be a suitable place for a date, I would have to say that I disagree. This is nothing more than a very clean, friendly family restaurant with a seemingly well-stocked bar. The food was okay, but definitely nothing special. I could see why local citizens would rely on Green Hills Grille as a solid place to take a family for a nice meal. The service was efficient and very friendly, and the menu had variety. While Green Hills Grille is, by no means, a horrible restaurant, I've rated it as ""average"". I wouldn't suggest to take a date to a family restaurant, just as I would never consider any family restaurant as ""upscale"". If you are visiting from out of town, I would suggest either something traditional to the Nashville area, such as ""Loveless Cafe"" or ""Jack's BBQ"", as well as trendy spots, such as ""Virago"" or ""Bound'ry"". Pros: Menu Variety, Efficient Service Cons: Ambience, Overrated more

Great service and same delicious food at the new location 7/22/2006

I have frequented Green Hills Grille quite a bit over the past several years. It feels like home. Service is top notch as is the food! more

Best in Green Hills 1/1/2006

My family lives within 5 minutes of ""The Grille"" and dine there at least once or twice weekly. It is consistently the best restaurant in terms of both the food and service. For lunch, the tortilla club sandwich, with chicken, guacamole, cheese, and bacon is incredible. For dinner, the Santa Fe Chicken and Shrimp Pignoli pasta are both out of this world and relatively healthy. The Caesar Salad is one of the better ones I have had in a restaurant setting. The cheeseburger is also great for either lunch or dinner. The Spinach artichoke dip is a great way to start the meal. Waiters are typically very attentive and the management is very open to suggestions and complaints. more

Vegetarian? Really? 3/4/2005

Yes they have a ""Vegetarian"" menu, but it is quite limited, and looks like it was created by someone who has little to no experience in vegetarian cuisine. Quite disappointing. I don't understand why this appears to be a ""popular"" place to eat, and I know many (non-vegetarians) people who agree with my assessment. Pros: Atmosphere, Ample Parking Cons: Crowded more

Reservations about no reservations 3/21/2004

Bottomline: Food -average. Service - poor. First, they don't take reservations, but do recommend that you call ahead and they'll hold a table for you (which I always thought was the point of a reservation). SO WE CALLED AHEAD and asked them to hold a table. We arrived on time, but no table was available. We waited for about 20 minutes. A group of folks came in ten minutes after us and were seated within minutes, before us. I guess they had a reservation or something. Ok, they food was average, but pricey. The salmon oscar was fabulous. The dessert menu was limited, but good. The Grille has followed in the footsteps many local restaurants and offers low carb items on its menu. I mean, low carb creme brulee??? Service was our biggest problem. Our server was slow, I actually think he forgot about us. He couldn't remember our orders. Cons: , expensive more

Rarety 5/16/2003

This is one of the most consistently GOOD restaurants in town. It is one of three that I can honestly say that - after more than 15 visits, I have never had a bad experience. The food is the same regardless of day, night etc. The service follows suit. It is a rare find. Pros: Service, Food quality, portions Cons: allways busy, parking is tight more

Good Value 2/1/2003

Maybe not incredible decor but good food and prices. Great neighborhood dinner joint. more

Attention to Detail 7/16/2002

The folks put thought and quality into every detail. Try the house salad made from beutiful bib lettuce. Me and my wife have this on our top five list for Nashville. Pros: Great food, great service, quality more

Wonderful Restaurant 7/5/2002

I have eaten at this restaurant for years and it continues to be one of my favorite in Nashville. Casul attire, pleasant surroundings and friendly efficient staff! Try the Artichoke Chicken and ""Smashed"" Potatoes. Everything I have had there has been equally as wonderful. I no longer iive in Nashville, but when visiting I always make this one of my stops! Pros: food, staff more

So Convenient 6/28/2002

GHG is great and their service is excellent. Also, their takeout is very convenient since the waitstaff will bring the bag to your car for you. more
