From reviews over two years ago, saying bad service and overall not so well experience, here is yet another bad review of this place. You would think high standards for this place...

Surprised 7/10/2009

My husband and I stopped by there the other day on an outing to the Galleria Mall. He needed to get his sports fix and I needed to refuel. When I think of a sports bar, I think wings and burgers. Though these options are on the menu, this place has many options and the quality was surprisinly good. Our waitress was friendly as well as effcient. I will deffinately go back. : ) Pros: Good Food, Great Service more

Interesting place 4/3/2009

My first to this establishment went well I admit. I ordered chicken tenders with fries and a drink. The tenders weren't that great. The fries were too small and a bit salty. I ordered a baked cookie pie in a pan with an ice cream scoop. The cookie was great. In fact, I think that was the highlight of my time there. Pros: In the Galleria,TV's, cozy feel Cons: slow service, hardly any servers around, food is average more

wow, its still bad here. 7/14/2008

From reviews over two years ago, saying bad service and overall not so well experience, here is yet another bad review of this place. You would think high standards for this place, but no. Service takes forever for anything. The food is alright. The reason i give it two stars is because of the atmosphere is the only thing it seems to have going for it. Ive been here twice in like the last year, I would not really recommend this place or will i go back to it. The food is alright. Pros: atmosphere and plenty of TVs. Cons: service, long wait for anything. more

Worst customer service in the world 4/30/2008

This review is after my third and final visit. I hope Gordon Ramsay pays a visit to this place so that he can rip the entire place apart. If not for the name recognition, location, and sports channels unavailable in other sports bars, this place would be out of business. Pros: Proximity to The Galleria area Cons: Service, Service, Service more

Good food, deplorable service featuring bait and switch 3/26/2008

The food was delicious, but the service was really bad. Pros: Good food Cons: Overlooked by server, table flyer was misrepresentative and management supports it more

fox sports grill 1/5/2008

if someone is having a special event they tend to discriminate on your looks. especially if its a long line and crowded. this happened to me NBA allstar weekend in houston Pros: great mall to shop at Cons: head of security was very rude for the galleria more

Typical bar 5/29/2007

The wait staff is terrible especially near closing time. The food is something you would expect from a bar and grill. The atmosphere is the only thing this place has going for itself. If you are looking to waste time with bad service and mediocre food then this is your place. Otherwise Champs would be better. Pros: The amount of TV's Cons: Service from the waitstaff more

Extremely poor service and waitstaff are willing to commit credit card fraud 5/20/2007

I went to FSG on May 3rd with some friends to watch the Rockets game. The restaurant was less than half full due to inclement weather. We had very poor service from the waitstaff. The waiter kept stating that he was swamped but he was only covering about 4 tables. It took over an hour to get our check from the time we requested it. When we complained to the manager, he acted like he could care a less. I left a small tip which I felt represented the service. However, when I checked my bank statement recently, I found that the SOB decided to change the amount of his tip to over 50%. He did this with each person's check at our table. That is theft and credit card fraud. There are plenty of great sports bars in Houston, don't waste your time and money at FSG. The food is overpriced for the quality which is that of typical ""Bar food"". BTW, everyone at my table was an attorney, so Fox will be hearing from us. Pros: Would be great if staff was monitored and changed menu Cons: Dishonest waitstaff, overpriced, extremely bad service more

Is it me, or does the wait staff hate us??? 4/1/2007

My wife and I have given FSG the benefit of the doubt several times since it opened. Each time we visit, we do so in hopes that it will have come around (i.e. that corporate will step in and fire the entire wait staff) but unfortunately, it has only gotten worse with time. Our latest attempt to enjoy a meal there took an unbelievable amount of time considering what we ordered and that the place was only half full (for a Final Four game no less). It is only a matter of time until the cool decor ceases to compensate for the total disrespect given by the wait staff. more

Lunchtime was good 3/8/2007

Went there on a Wednesday early afternoon for lunch. Server was very prompt in taking my order. Food delivery did seem a little slow for being as few people as there was in there. Food itself was great, ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich that had its share of heat. Server got the order right, including my request for ranch dressing instead of bleu cheese, which tamed the heat of the sandiwch down nicely. I found it ironic that while being a Fox branded restaurant, most of the TVs on this day were tuned to ESPN stations, but hey, I guess you cant corner the TV market completely. Would have rather seen more local Fox sports on, but this may have been due to the timing of my visit. Overall, a very good visit, and I would certainly go back again. Pros: Lunchtime is easy on the wallet as long as you dont go to the bar Cons: The wait time for food seems to be a chronic issue here more

Salads are Redeeming 10/27/2006

The restaurant is neat if you like sports and lots of TVs. The service is fair, but you have to stare at the waitstaff in hopes that they make eye contact with you so you can signal for a refill. They have great salads, big enough for two, which I recommend. more

Don't ever go here 6/11/2006

wow, unbelievably bad service and very poor attitude from waitress. Place was about 3/4 full and it took 50 minutes to get a soup and salad for lunch. Server never apologized for wait, simply said ""we have a lot of tickets"" when asked why it took over 45 minutes for a cup of soup and a wedge of iceberg lettuce. food was so-so at best. After going there today, I heard the same thing about the service from about 4 different people. Pros: nice flat screen TV's Cons: bad service. mediocre food. rude waitress. more

not recommended 4/13/2006

food below average, special menu wasn't good at all. service was awful. waiters were more interested to chat with each other than to check on their customers. Pros: promptly seated Cons: service, value, food more

LOTS OF POTENTIAL 1/29/2006

Visited Fox Sports Grill on a Tuesday night. Maybe 30 people inside. Very impressive atmosphere. Server nice but only showed up to take our order and deliver our check. Food took forever coming out (salad, soup and an app) and no drinks were refilled. Was charged nearly $20 for a Mexican Martini. Most expensive drink I've had and I've lived in Boston! Would have complained to the waiter if we saw him more than twice. Had to find the manager and explain our issues. He was more concerned with the satellite system not working to pay attention to me. Contacted corporate and they still can't figure out the charge for the martini. Huge potential here but until they get the service figured out (even on slow nights) I would stay away. Pros: Atmosphere, Location, Potential Cons: Service, Service, Pricing more

Horrible Treatment of Loyal Customers 11/30/2005

We went here for every UT Football game. Each time the service and food got worse. Then came the Texas/Texas Tech game. Some of us got there an hour early to reserve a table for our party of 10 only to find out they no longer seat incomplete parties. There were many empty tables. I told the hostess we had spent over $1200.00 at FSG, but she said no exceptions. Other people simply broke the rule and took a table. When I explained this to the manager he couldn't care less. I told him we would never go back. None of us have. The word has gotten out about this place. Each time, it was less crowded. Sad because the ambience and TV's are nice. But terrible service, declining food quality, and absolutely horrible treatment of loyal customers ruined it. All 10 of us have banned FSG. Pros: Nice Televisions, Nice furniture Cons: Horrible Service, Mediocre Food, Overpriced more

Don't Waste Your Time! 8/31/2005

Some coworkers and I went to the Houston Galleria location of Fox Sports Grill on Tuesday, August 30, and were very disappointed by the quality of food and drinks and the service. We put in orders for side items such as sour cream, kethup, etc that were basically ignored, even with multiple reminders. Many of our orders were incorrect, and were also never corrected with multiple requests. The food we ordered was poorly prepared - for instance, my nachos had VERY little cheese, and was not melted. The service was incredibly slow, and many times the servers would walk right past us, ignoring our desparate attempts to get attention. We were there during the ""happy hour"" time, and I have to say that honestly this is the worst happy hour experience I have ever had, and the restaurant was mostly empty! Pros: ambiance, location Cons: service is terrible, food is bad, drinks are weak more

Not a Good Experience 8/8/2005

We don't have a chance to go out often but I thought I would surprise my husband and invite his friends for a nice dinner. I was very disappointed. They steaks we ordered were dry, the bread we had to ask for were hard, and the waitress hardly came by even though it was not crowded. Too expensive and not worth the money or the time. Pros: area Cons: food, price more

Not for Average Sports Fan 7/10/2005

Think of an upper deck ticket to a baseball game as a typical sports bar then Fox Sports Grill is the luxury box. Very few people can honeslty afford to pay that much for a sandwich and a few beers. Pros: TVs Everywhere, Awesome Atmospher Cons: Extremely Expensive more

Good place to hangout 4/28/2005

I went for the first time to watch the Rocket's game. Good atomsphere. Bartender was great. Food was not great. The BBQ nachos were a no-no. But it is a good place to drink, mingle and chill. Pros: Atomsphere Cons: Food more

terrible service 4/14/2005

My cousins and I went out for lunch here and the food was good, but our waitress was pretty bad. She came to us with a frown on her face the whole time, and she came to our table only 3 times-- to take our order, bring out our food, and to give us the bill. The atmosphere is nice though. Pros: Great atmosphere Cons: BAD SERVICE! more
