WOW. It's really hard to understand what all the other reviewers are talking about.

low on cost but high on value 9/16/2011

Great gyros at $5-6 a pop. You get served quickly, it tastes good, and you end up full. I'm not sure how the other dishes are, but I'd bet they're pretty good considering how good the gyros are. more

Great Greek on E.B-side 2/13/2010

I used to work near by and go for lunch. It's prety fast and you get alot for your $. Pros: best afforable Greek grub around town Cons: Not open on Sunday's more

cheap and good 8/18/2008

GOOD QUICK GREEK FOOD FIX! 8/13/2008

I AM A FOOD FANATIC AND ABSOLUTLY LOVE MY GREEK AND MIDDLE EASTERN CUISINE. THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO STOP AND GRAB A QUICK BITE IF YOU ARE CRAVING SOME GOOD GREEK. THE SERVICE IS QUICK BUT SEATING IS LIMITED. THEY ALSO DO TAKE OUT ORDERS WHICH MIGHT SUIT YOU BETTER IF YOU ARE IN A RUSH. I ORDERED A LAMB GYRO W/ FETA AND IT WAS WHAT I WAS EXPECTING. NOT THE MOST EXCEPTIONAL GREEK FOOD I HAVE HAD (I EAT ALOT! FREQUENT MANY PLACES AROUND PORTLAND) BUT IT DID THE JOB AND PRICES ARE DECENT. THEY ALSO HAVE A FEW AISLES OF GROCERY WHERE THEY SELL SOME THINGS FROM OVER SEAS THAT YOU CANT BUY IN YOUR TYPICAL GROCERY STORE WHICH I LOVE BECAUSE I LOVE TO COOK. OVERALL I GIVE IT THE GREEN LIGHT TO STOP IN AND GRAB A BITE. ALSO I WAS WONDERING HOW THEIR SAGANAKI IS SO IF ANYONE HAS HAD IT LET ME KNOW...MAYBE I WILL HAVE TO GO TRY IT MYSELF. more

Best gyros ever! 8/24/2007

I love this little hole in the wall family owned deli. I miss working down the street and having the option of getting a gyro for lunch. I still drive from the west side to get my Foti's Fix as often as possible. The prices are decent for the quality of the food and like the other reviewer said when you ask for feta you get a chunk... not just a few crumbles like other places! My favorite lunch is a lamb gyro with feta and an order of spanikopita. The lady at the counter still remembers me from when I used to have lunch there constantly and it really makes it a great place to go. I'll support a family run business before a chain any day. Pros: awesome food that is authentic and they have grocery items! Cons: its usually very packed at lunch time and may be hard to get a table more

Great food, atmosphere 6/4/2007

The food here is great. When you order something with feta cheese on it, you get a whole huge chunk, you can tell that they aren't trying to scam people at all. Everything is priced really well for how good it is. If you like to serve yourself, go here and pick from a HUGE section of greek and american wine, beer, and regular drinks, along with package deserts and fresh made pastries. This place rocks. Pros: They have a mini arcade too! WITH tetris. Cons: Kinda shady area, so sometimes you get some freaks in there. more

Best Gyros I have ever had. 5/26/2007

Foti?s is my favorite place to get lunch! If you wait all year for Greek Festival like me, you will love Foti's Greek Deli. I live about 45 minutes away from the little spot but I drive out at least twice a month to have one of their PERFECT versions of a Gyro and Greek salad. Their Calamari is great too, it?s a pretty small serving for the price but it is well worth it, absolutely delicious. When you walk into the Greek Deli it looks like a little family owned corner store. It is not fancy by any means but don't let that fool you, the food is incredible! Nevertheless if you don't like the atmosphere then take it to go. When I get married I?m going to find out if they cater, no kidding you will not find a better gyro, Greeks salad or calamari in all of Portland. Pros: Great food more

old style, consistently good 5/12/2007

Love this place! Love that they are not trying to be ""fancy"". Reminds me of the great little ""hole in the wall"" ethnic eateries I used to haunt in New York. Just a family working hard doing what they do best- making good food. The hoummas is uniquely garlicky- my 10 year old is addicted to it, the calimari crisp and light, with wonderful tsatsiki(sp?) to go with. Pitas are warm and fresh and fragrant. Prices are great, atmosphere is charmingly ""no frills"". Staff is sweet and familiar. The bulk feta (my favorite is actually the french), in the grocery case is better, and much cheaper, than anywhere else in town. Exotically packaged boxes of bulgarian chocolates from the grocery make fun, inexpensive last minute gifts. more

Excellent Greek Comfort Food 2/16/2007

What's not to love about this place? Best hummus on the planet, imho, personable and efficient service -- add a scrumptiously satisfying souvlaki sandwich and you're in comfort-food nirvana. Authentic -- however, throwing plates is NOT appreciated here. I found this out the hard way. Pros: Food, service more

Best Ggyros in the World! It's TRUE! 1/18/2007

OMG this place is Addictive! I gind myself craving it at odd hours of the day.... Traveling across town in bad weather just to get my fix... The food is EXCELLENT! I go there weekly. It is our Saturday treat. The family that owns the shop is friendly and inviting. The facility is clean and they have lots of cool foreign candies and treats in the shop for cheap. The prices are right and man... my mouth is watering just thinking about it now. Pros: Food is soooo mouth watering good... Cons: None. Except maybe it could be closer to my house, like RIGHT next door! :) more

Solid, quick Greek food. 11/1/2006

I have been going here off and on for years. A wonderful family has been operating it for many years. They are friendly and efficient. The Greek food is always authentic, freshly prepared and good. A small deli and grocery area can fill out most of your needs, if you are making some dinners yourself. Foti's is a tasty place without a lick of pretension attached. A perfect place to go for a quick lunch in or ""to go"". Pros: Quick, authentic, friendly Cons: not a date joint...well, maybe a cheap date more

The Real Deal! 2/6/2005

Foti's is the real deal --- a cheap Greek restaurant with great food, and a Greek grocery store as well. The staff are friendly and helpful, food arrives quickly and tastes GREAT. Try the souvlaki, especially the lamb, and order ""extra feta cheese."" Retsina by the glass is a great value, and you can take home a bottle of the same if you like it. Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, Greek wine store Cons: A bit cold in winter more

I give it a 10 12/3/2004

This place is amazing. I am a huge fan of greek food and they have some of the best I have tasted in america. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant clean and very reasonably priced. Try the spanakopita and dolmathes. Also their baklava is to die for. Its nice to see a small business like this still going even through the rough times. Pros: Amazing food, Friendly staff, Clean restaurant more

Great Lunch Spot 7/30/2002
