Salespeople with unnecessary attitude 11/5/2006

I love Foster's for their funky products and reasonable prices. However, as someone who shops there consistently and makes consistent purchases, the customer service is much less than stellar. Without a doubt some of the employees who work there are some of the most sullen and un-helpful EMO people I have encountered, which ruins a lot of the atmosphere of such a great place. On more than one occasion, I have asked a question of the salespeople regarding a product and gotten a snippy response. I inquired about a table I liked and they told me it wasn't for sale, said it was special order, and then turned and went back to chatting with the other employee - and wouldn't offer me any more information on it. I asked to purchase the store display of an item since it was the last one and they made a big stink of repackaging it in the box for me (it was glass). I bought curtains and asked about their return policy on them in case they didn't work and they arrogantly told me that maybe I should figure out exactly what I wanted before I bought something so I wouldn't have to return them. They made it so difficult for me to register there for my wedding that I changed my mind and didn't register there! They are lucky they have such good product (it keeps me going back) as it must make up for their lack of customer service! Pros: Great products, space, location Cons: customer service and employees more

Oh so Mod! 11/14/2002

I absolutely love this place! It's got all sorts of mod gems for forward-minded people. The sales people are fabulous. The prices are just right for the quality of the items in this store. Pros: good decor ideas, relaxed atmosphere, great sales people Cons: too small, not enough furniture more

Small Gift Heaven 8/13/2002

Head here for stocking stuffers for your "kewl" friends. Great sense of humor in the products as well as unusual but useful things galore. Check out their sale table for bargains. Great selection of coasters too. more

Editorial
  • In Short
Old City's coolest home décor shop expanded into cavernous digs, housing hip designs for urbanites dwelling in studios and penthouses alike. Bathed in the glow of green, orange and blue walls, the Old City gallery crowd shops for bottle openers and magnets. The former machine shop is chock-full of elegantly funky home elements on the edge of modern design. It's a grown-up mixture of downstairs at Urban Outfitters, Ikea, art gallery and Michael Graves for Target.
