Best

A relaxed, romantic setting with Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine make this a perfect date spot. Call ahead for a seat on the patio when the weather's nice.

We used to like eating at Fino's. After a recent visit, we noticed the wrong tip amount was on our cc bill. It took three phone calls with the increasingly snooty management to ge...

OVERPRICED! 11/3/2006

I almost laughed out loud when we got the bill. My girlfriend and I ate here and it cost us 117 dollars for two entrees and two drinks a piece. I ordered a scallop entree that cost over twenty dollars and came with THREE scallops. My girlfriends meal was twenty five dollars for no more than rice, sauce, and a few pieces of chicken. I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. I have no problem paying for good food, but this place is a JOKE! This place competes with fine dining in new york for prices. DO NOT EAT HERE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Pros: nice space, good atmosphere Cons: OVERPRICED TINY PORTIONS more

You People Just Don't Get It 10/30/2006

I eat at Fino a lot, and I'd no idea there were all these negative reviews here until I suggested it to an out of town friend and she pointed this out to me. We went anyway and had a wonderful meal. Pros: great for groups, but also nice for dinner for two Cons: weekends often busy, but almost always room at the bar more

Fried goat cheese and dessert cocktails 10/23/2006

Sounds like a few folks are missing the whole small plate, large plate option. Pros: inventive cuisine - excellent patio for happy hour and appetizers more

Wonderful!!! 9/18/2006

We went to Fino to celebrate our daughter's 20th birthday. We had a large party with an age range from 12-73. The waitstaff was wonderful with everyone. The atmosphere was wonderful, relaxed at the same time it is upscale. The food was perfect! I never thought you could have a very thick pork chop that would be cooked so perfectly, well-done but juicy and tender. All the plates looked wonderful and tasted even better! The portions were absolutley perfect. I am tired of going to a resturant and ordering a plate and having enough food for three people. I still did not finish my food but there was a lot less left on it than anywhere else. Thanks for not getting dragged in the hype of super-sizing. I am so thrilled our daughter picked this resturant. It was well worth the two hour drive to have such a wonderful meal with three generations. I highly recommend this resturant for a nice, quiet, wonderful meal. Pros: Totally wonderful more

Very Disappointing 8/17/2006

I have been to Fino three times--once by choice and twice as a guest of someone else. The first time was for my anniversary. The other two times were for a casual lunch with a friend and then a large group (8) dinner. Each time was a disappointment. The food is good, but the portions are tiny. The drinks were watered down. Also, I found the lunch menu to be very limited. The first time there our waiter was overly attentive and because it was for my anniversary, that was very annoying. The other two times the waiters were rude. The host of the party of 8 asked to see the manager regarding the service and the manager was very rude and did not offer anything to compensate us for the poor service. I will not go back. Pros: food tasted good Cons: poor service, tiny portions, rude manager more

Portions are ridiculous 5/25/2006

My husband and I love Asti, so we expected that Fino would be equally wonderful. Because they're still new, we've given them three chances, but each time we've been disappointed. The food is delicious, but the serving sizes are really absurd. We don't mind spending a lot for a great dining experience, but we do mind feeling feeling taken advantage of. I should add that we are both light eaters, so when I say the serving sizes are too small, I'm certainly not exaggerating. And $4 to add barely any chicken to your thimble-sized salad? Our servers have all been friendly, but not extremely attentive or knowledgable - again, unlike Asti. We're not going back unless we hear that they've made serious changes. Pros: ambiance, menu, chef Cons: portion size, waitstaff more

Were not impressed 2/11/2006

My husband and I went for our anniversary for the first time. We wanted a really great experience and had been excited about trying Fino. We chose the special and it was not edible. The grilled fish tasted charred and like lighter fluid. The beans that came with the dish were undercooked. The sangria was very watered down--I saw that it was premade and had been sitting in a pitcher most of the night. The waiter offered us another dish and we opted for dessert. The service was great despite the food. more

$11 for two scallops! 1/28/2006

Doesn't that say enough? We love Asti and are frequent patrons, but we didn't fall in love with Fino. Cool atmosphere, but the food is overpriced with skimpy portions (even the entrees) and seems more concerned with being interesting than being good. We won't go back. more

Good Food - Rude Owner 11/22/2005

I ate at Fino with a group of friends while celebrating a birthday. The dinner was excellent and the service was great. It was unfortunate, however, that our experience was ruined by the owner of the restaurant who was rude to our entire group. While I will continue to rave about the food, I do not plan to go back to Fino. Austin has many other restaurants with great food and friendly surroundings. more
