Hot or Mild??!! 12/30/2005

El Burrito Mercado~Everything is so simple and homespun, it looks and tastes like it was made by someone's mom. Most options are served on platters with refried beans and well-spiced rice; all dishes are made to order and have the option of mild or hot shredded beef or chicken. Beef is the best choice for perfectly melty quesadillas and big, hearty burritos. Specials are offered daily and may include a hot little gordita, crisp and stuffed with spicy meat. For a sweet finish, there are fresh cookies and unbelievably moist tres leches cake!!! I love this place!!! more

Great Hispanic Market 8/19/2005

Located in the heart of Saint Paul’s Mexican district, El Burrito Mercado is the premiere Hispanic grocer in the Twin Cities. The market features a broad selection of packaged and fresh Hispanic foods. I head to El Burrito Mercado regularly for flan mix, Jumex, and Mexican Coke. The Mercado’s produce selection is good and cheap. The store regularly features the cheapest mangoes in town. The biggest draw of El Burrito Mercado is its prepared food. At one end of the store, you will find a cafeteria line full of the best Mexican food in town. If your Spanish isn’t good, just point. Whatever you get will be great. more

Great Mexican Grocery 8/18/2005

El Burrito Mercato is probably the best Mexican grocery in St. Paul. They have a great selection of grocery goods, but also have a bakery and a great deli style restaurant all in the same building. If you go there for lunch, you might just pick up a couple things to take home. more

El Burrito Mercado is the best and biggest Mexican grocery in St. Paul. They have anything you could want including many authentic Mexican items I don't even know what to do with. They also have prepared foods, a small cafe, CDs and a variety of imported crafts. All their food is top notch. Generally a great time, although I wish I spoke Spanish so that I could do more than just pay the cashier and nod. more
