I absolutely loved Eastbank Hair!! Karen did a wonderful job on my highlights and I enjoyed her bubbly personality. The ambiance was soothing and I with impressed the personnel and how social and talented they were, especially Karen. My hair smelled great and was silky/smooth from the Aveda products. The rumors going around about Edward , from The Edward Amato Salon, taking over the Eastbank Hair are true! If you liked Eastbank Hair before, you are going to love it now! According to EBH, it will remain an AVEDA Concept Salon with even more emphasis on the overall experience. I have been staggering around trying to find ""the best place"" for me and my difficult hair. Well, look no further, Karen at East Bank Hair has done a fantastic job and also took me from 90% grey to a wonderful shade of vibrant, shiny auburn. I feel great and am told I look 10-15 years younger. Scott, the owner and a stylist as well has a lovely shop that just feels warm and friendly when you enter. The atmosphere is great, a wonderful staff and receptionist/shampooers are there at your beck and call. They offer coffee and tea while you have yourself taken care of by a very professional staff. East Bank is top rate in my book, try it you will agree, I am sure. Pros: Great sylists, Jackie, at the desk (great shampooer!!) is wonderful and makes you feel at home. I am a guy, and even though I am, I want my hair cut right. When i say fade, i dont mean bowl cut. Etc etc. I hate sitting in a chair at a generic places, sweating the outcome of this ""just got out of cosmetology school"" girl's hair cutting ability. So i go to Laura. She takes her time and always does a great job. never once has she rushed through and just given me a quicky cut. I am very conscious of my appearance, so I go to Laura. The salon is great and comfortable, and everyone there is really nice and personable. Great place overall. Cons: A little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. . . . more

During my travels I've been lucky to have had haircuts in the top salons in NYC, Miami, & Paris. And, back in my former hometown of Tallahassee, I was a loyal, 10-year customer to my Aveda stylist there. Thus, I know of what I speak. Caroline Franke & east bank hair salon are world class! I'm a new-comer to Baltimore & I'm relieved to find Caroline . A gamine beauty, she knows how to cut hair & she's very knowledgeable about color. She's also a great listener, & smart. I recently tried Eastbank Hair and I love it! Caroline gave me the the best haircut I've ever had and believe me...I have tried MANY people. She also did a fabulous job with my color too. Nestled along Falls Road, on the left before hitting the Whole Foods 'area', Eastbank Hair is a hidden gem among soooo many salons in the Baltimore area. I was on the prowl for a stylist who can handle long curly hair... I met my match in Caroline at Eastbank. She not only gave me a fantastic cut, she advised me on some great products that actually work!! Imagine my surprise when she didn't try and sell me everything, just the items that really get the job done. \r \r The other great thing about this salon is that they use all Aveda products and they offer skincare services, which I haven't used yet but have to imagine are just as high quality as the rest of the place...\r \r I say give Eastbank a try and I don't think you will be sorry you did. more

I have been getting my hair cut by Laura at East Bank Hair for over a year now. I love her! She is very creative and does wonders with color! She always listens and makes excellent suggestions. People complement me on my hair all the time. After seeing my hair, my mother and several of my friends are now Laura's clients. EastBank Hair is a small wonderful Salon. I have been getting my hair cut and colored there now for about 6 months and every time Caroline does a fabulous job. Her haircuts and color are consistently great. She takes time to listen to what you want and does a terrific job. I would highly recommend her. The salon is very relaxing and the Aveda products are super. If you want a great cut I would feel confident in suggesting that you ask for Caroline. East Bank has a very soothing and calming atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door. The receptionist and hair dressers are attentive and sincerely interested in making you feel comfortable and ensure that you enjoy your experience. Karen has been doing my hair for years. She s very personable and takes her time doing your hair. the colors always come out beautiful and natural. Karen is very knowledgeable mixing colors and creating the best look for me. the haircut always looks great; i ve never been disappointed. In addition she has done my hair for several fancy special occasions. her choice of up-do is thoughtful and fitting for the style of my dress and the setting of the evening. karen recommments great products and simple techniques for me to do my hair on my own at home. more

I've been going to East Bank Hair for the past three years to get my hair done. My stylist, Laura, has always done a fabulous job cutting and coloring my hair exactly the way I want it. I live in DC and I always make the trip to Baltimore to go see Laura. She does a great job recommending what colors and cuts will look good on me and it always turns out great! I just recently had my hair done by her and I really love the way the new color came out. I was nervous at first, but now I love it! East Bank Hair is one of the best salon's in the baltimore area if you're looking to get a great cut and color, and Laura is one of the better stylists because she takes time to work with you and give you advice to get what you want! more

So I had never been or heard anything about this salon which I really wish I would have known about sooner. I loved the color of my hair after Laura did it. The color she used made my hair look soooo healthy and shiny without all the bad chemicals. Also the salon had such a nice and calm atmosphere which was such a nice change from the busy salons. As a four year patron of Aveda salons, I made my first appointment with East Bank hair after moving to the Baltimore area two years ago. I met Laura who was not only friendly and down to earth but exceptional with color and styling my thin and difficult to manage hair. Laura did my hair and that of my bridesmaids for my wedding last year and we received numerous compliments on the unique but classic styles.\r \r I would highly recommend East Bank hair to those who are looking for a relaxing atmosphere with highly professional and capable stylists. I have been an East Bank Hair customer for a long, long time. What sets EBH apart from the other salons is their attention to detail, charming ambience, relaxed style, professional work ethic and quality products by AVEDA. Hairstyles are extremely personal and Scott and his staff take the time to listen to what you have in mind and make thoughtful recommendations about how a particular style best suits you. I have never been disappointed, even when I don't have style in mind and say ""just do something fun."" I have complete confidence in Scott's creative ability to make my hair look better than styles we see on the cover of most magazines. I always leave feeling refreshed, relaxed and really excited to hear the compliments I know I will get with a fresh haircut and color! \r \r If you are interested in an impersonal, big box, wal-mart type salon, EBH is definitely not for you. But if you want impeccable results every time and a great way to spend your afternoon this is the perfect place. I have been to many upscale salons in DC, Austin, Chicago and New York and EBH's cuts are just as good if not better!!!! more

I moved to Baltimore not too long ago and initially went to Studio 1612 to get my hair cut. Based on the reviews here, I decided to give Eastbank a try. I'm sooo glad I did. This place is an Aveda-concept salon. All their products smell so good and as toxin-free as shampoos and conditioners will get. Everyone is so polite, and it's such a calm and peaceful place. Plus, they have free parking behind the salon. Everyone from the person who washes your hair, to the person working at the front desk, to the hairstylists is really nice and treated me with courtesy and respect. The first time I was there 6 months ago, Kim cut my hair and she spent a so much time with me and going over how I should take care of my hair and how to achieve the same results at home. Kim is no longer there, so this time, Laura worked on my hair and did a fabulous job. She spent a good 5 minutes going over what results I wanted to achieve, and explained to me what she thought I should do. I decided to just go with what she suggested. My hair looked so aweful and dull when she started, but afterwards it looked so healthy and bouncy. I got so many compliments on my hair today, I can't believe it. Plus, getting your haircut here costs around the same as other salons in the neighborhood. Also worth mentioning, when they wash your hair here, oh it's heavenly. You get a whole scalp massage and it's so relaxing. I've already referred several of my friends, and when my family comes up to Baltimore to visit me, I'm going to take them to Eastbank to get their haircuts. I love this place and hope that it stays the same! I don't feel rushed, everything's on-time, everyone is polite, I never felt pushed to buy any products, and they do an AMAZING job with haircuts. Very impressive. Pros: Great haircuts, nice staff, free parking, relaxing atmosphere, prices not too high Cons: Nothing...I wish the salon was closer to my house...It's 45 minutes away from me! more

Eastbank Hair is the best! Scott has been cutting my hair for years, and I can't imagine going to anybody else. He's especially good with short cuts for women. The environment is great, very soothing and calming. more
