Dr. Doss is an amazing doctor. I was trying to get have a baby and he gave me a full check up then suggessted that my husband also have a check up. Good thing he did, becuase my husband had testicular cancer and we would have never known. We caught it in Stage I. During my pregnancy his office took good care of me. I even had twins the second time and carried them to full term. I think Dr. Doss is the best in town. Pros: Number 1 Doctor more

I came to this sight to look up the address for Dr. Doss to have my records sent to my current doctor in South Carolina, where I recently relocated from Texas. I felt after reading other reviews that I would just like to take a few minutes to tell anyone reviewing Dr. Doss for a future doctor to find my experience helpful in making a positive decision. I began seeing Dr. Doss in 1979 and to this current day, 29 years later he still is my GYN. He birthed my two children and by the way, my 23 year old daughter is a current patient of his and the comfort he brings to my daughter and I during our visits is remarkable. He is very professional and genuine in regards to the medical care and concern he has for his patients. If you go through childbirth with him you will experience the comfort he provides for the new mother's to be. I have lived in the Virgin Islands for the past three years and found my way back to Austin for my annual checkups instead of searching for another doctor due to the fact that I feel it will be hard to replace Dr. Doss. I have lived through special staff members of Dr. Doss' losses with cancer and am always pleased with replacements of the staff. I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a sincere and dedicated physican. I can only hope my new found doctor in my current state where I live will fill his shoes. I have been a patient of Dr. Doss for almost nine years now. Dr. Doss has treated me with kindness and dignity during every visit. His staff is also comprised of a very warm and caring group of individuals. I am a very liberal, non-christian, single-mom and I have never felt judged or harshly treated here. This is even true for when I needed a sugical procedure done to treat abnormal cervical cells (caused by an STD). During this time I was given the facts about this disease and treatment options and felt very at ease and comfortable as a patient in his facility. Looking back over the last nine years I can recollect many examples of good care and would recommend a friend to be a patient under his care. In fact that is precisely why I came to this website today to find his information so I could refer a friend. He is presumably a Christian and caring family man (due to a cross and pictures of his daughters on the walls) but this has never detracted from view of him in fact it makes me feel more at ease in his care. Since I think he treats others as he would be treated (or have his daughters be treated) too. more

The best part about my visit, was the staff. The nurse that performed the initial check seemed genuinely cordial and put me at ease. Dr. Doss was fine, although I'm not sure if I will go back. He did some tests at my urging and when I called to get my results about 1:10 on a Tuesday afternoon, I got a voice message, saying the office was ""closed"", but I did not have the option of leaving a recorded message. That didn't set well with me. If anyone reading this, has some suggestions for an OB/GYN, please post them. Thanks. Pros: Aquarium in waiting area. I was recommended to this doctor by several people at my work, but would never go back. I have been on the same pill for several years, have extremely low bld pressure (90 over 60), and have maintained about the same weight for the last 5 years. Despite all of these factors this doctor will only write a perscription for the pill 6 months at a time, he make you return (and pay again!) to get weighed in and your bld pressure taken before he writes it for the next 6 months. I have never heard of doctors doing this before. I understand that it could be a safety precaution, but if he was concerned about safety, as a young single female, you would think that he would recommend all STD tests to me for safe measure (instead of just recommending Clymida - which can cause you to be sterile but no other health effects). As far as I am concerned this doctor is a crazy christain republican who is trying to influence his views over his patients by making it more expense and difficult to prevent pregnancy through use of the pill and only promoting STD tests that effect preganancy chances not the single women's overall health. He should have his lisence revoked for this treatment! I should not get the appropriate treatment I deserve because I am a single female who is sexually active! I left feeling judged and would never return! I do not recommend! more
