This is a cool pizza place in Ballard right by the high school. Simple menu and you can pile on what you want. Parking can be a little tough but there are a few spots in back. more

Great Old School Pizza Joint in Ballard! 8/31/2010

I love the pizza at Crash Landing! The service is great and the pies are real East Coast style pizza. This place reminds me of when I was a kid back in PA. It's not gourmet, it's simple. I think the simplicity is what makes it sooo good. Dan the owner is often there serving up the pie, and everyone on the staff is super friendly. Crash Landing is perfect for the Ballard local looking for an affordable meal. more

Rather Ordinary Regular Pizza 3/19/2008

I was told this place has great authentic pizza by more than one time Seattle-ite, but I have to say, *yawn* it was just kinda regular old pizza to me. Pros: It's Pizza! more

Pining for the East Coast? 7/12/2006

As an exiled New Yorker, I searched high and low for a good pizza. A couple of places come close, but when all the stars are in alignment no one in Seattle gets it closer than Crash Landing. One of the reasons is that the owner hails from Philadelphia- northeast coasters know a good pizza. I'll admit that sometimes it just misses- but for the most part, it has a nice thin crust, that certain mixture of cheese that recalls 6th & Bleecker. Prices are good. The place even has a video game! They don't deliver (wish they would). Check it out, especially you northeast folk- Seattle has finally become absolutely perfect! Pros: True NY style pizza! Cons: No delivery more

Best Pizza in town! Great slices and a great deal 6/13/2005

Love this guy's vegetarian slice selection and it's a reasonably priced place to get a quick bite. They also sell excellent whole pies with a nice selection of quality toppings. Best kept secret pizza place in Ballard!! Pros: Quality ingredients, Cheap, Friendly staff Cons: Kinda small seating, parking sucks more

No cardboard crust here 4/15/2005

This place is the real deal. Competes with the best in Seattle. No delivery, but well worth the drive to pick up or eat in this ""non-abienoic"" pizza joint. Pros: Excellent Pizza, Real NY Style, Good Crust Cons: No delivery more

Ballard's Authentic East Coast Style Pizzeria! This is Real Pizza!

Owner Message
  • Crash Landing Pizza's recipes go back to 1978, and master pizza maker Ramon P. Moretti, originally from the East Coast. Ray taught me how to throw pizza dough and a few rules about pizza making. According to Ray, a pizza should represent the Italian flag: red for the tomato sauce, white for the mozzarella and green for the oregano.
Crash Landing still upholds the basic standards established by Ray serving our customers real East Coast Pizza right here in the heart of Ballard. We make our dough every morning and hand throw our crusts, we ladle on a spicy tomato sauce full of fresh garlic and spices and we top every pie with best quality mozzarella!
Don't forget to check in for our seasonal specialty pizzas!
