AWFUL FROM START TO FINISH FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF 12/1/2010

If there are any favorable reviews for these buffoons, they were surely written by Computer Nerdz themselves. These guys sent out a 20 watt flunkee who had no clue what was wrong with the computer. He spent 8+ hours over the course of two days, then took the computer back to the shop for further diagnosics. Several days later they informed us that the computer would take 3-4 WEEKS to fix. Since the computer is vital to my livelihood, it was only after we purchased a new computer that we learned from Dell that computer was likely never opened (thus not accurately diagnosed) by Computer Nerdz. All that was wrong was the fan needed to be replaced. The Dell tech fixed it in a matter of minutes. It was then that we discovered that Computer Nerdz moved (rather than copied) the data from the old computer to the new one, leaving the old computer inoperable. So, several hundred dollars later, we found ourselves essentially robbed by Computer Nerdz. Numerous calls to the house plant of a Manager at Compter Nerds yielded nothing more than elevated blood pressure. We still dont have our power cord back. more

Recomend these guys to EVERYONE! 6/22/2010

You all have been fantastic. Your lady who answers the the phone was the bomb, and very polite. If I still had my corp. I would take her away from you. LOL. Derick who came to the house was great. He was most informative and helpful. He did a great job. I will recommend you to all of my friends. Great job. Thank you so much for your services. You now have a new Nerd. more

Such great Teachers! 3/4/2010

This was great! I learned a lot in an hour! Pros: they explain everything so that I can understand it Cons: none! more

Easy to Understand Solutions for Every Problem 3/3/2010

Whenever I have a problem, my first thought is NERDZ!. My past experience tells me they will do all that is necessary to solve my problem and explain what was wrong (if it was me or a real problem). Explanations are always in terms that I can understand. Keep up the good work!! Pros: best computer repair in austin Cons: none! more

Computer NERDZ! is AWESOME! 1/27/2010

I have used another computer company there was no comparison in the excellent courteous and knowledge that this technician showed. I will always use Computer NERDZ! for any problems I have in the future. Pros: wonderful customer service, can fix any problem Cons: none! more

terrible company 12/9/2009

If you are looking for computer repair please look somewhere else. This company's business model is to have their technicians take as much time as possible to resolve an issue they know little about and charging up to and well over 100$ an hour. Many of the technicians are inexperienced and unable to quickly get to the root of the computer problem, and in fact are encouraged to take as much time as possible so the company gets paid more. Sometimes they create new problems which the customer did not initially call about and charge even more to fix it. Don't get me wrong, some of the technicians I have used previously are intelligent, however there are others who believe running and installing scanning programs freely available on the internet is the solution to every problem. From what I have seen of this company, I am definitely not impressed. Pros: they have a pulse Cons: taking advantage of customers more

Awesome Computer Repair! 9/1/2009

They have helped our family for years through many computer problems. We think they're the best. They also give away a free hour of service to loyal clients every month! Pros: customer service, technicians are great Cons: none! more

Outstanding Service!!!! 9/1/2009

First of all, the Computer NERDZ! have moved from the Mesa Drive location. The new address is: 2438 W. Anderson Lane A-1 Austin, Texas 78757 Whew! When this problem happened I could have cared less about my computer. My primary concern was my un-backed up itunes. If I had lost that... well lets just say there is not enough fowl language... Big props to Chris. Pros: great customer service, can fix anything Cons: none! more

Great place for Computer Repair! 9/1/2009

Jon was very personable and very efficient. He worked quickly and wasted no time. He offered suggestions as I asked questions. We were able to work through a number of issues. He represents your company well and I would definitely ask for Jon to return the next time I have problems. Pros: personable techs, great help, fantastic customer service Cons: none! more

Same Day Service 9/1/2009

I am extremely impressed with you guys. I appreciate how quickly you responded to my initial email (within 8 hours) and how quickly you fixed my laptop. Thank you! Pros: great customer service, fast turnaround, wonderful techs Cons: none! more

Use caution 4/5/2009

The ""nerdz"" don't use common sense or logical thinking when working with customers. I went in prepared to leave my laptop so they could upgrade the RAM. But he opened looked at it went in the back got the RAM put it in closed it up, booted it and sent me on my way without checking to see if the laptop recognized the new memory, which it did in one slot but not the other. All calls go through their coprorate calling center (in Oklahoma), a real pain especially when they have no record of your call etc etc. Then when someone finally does call, i.e. the tech he says well you were in a hurry. Yeah, but did you ask me to leave it with you?? Did I say I had to take it with me? Nooooo. So he makes it look like I'm at fault for his failure to do handle it properly. Where was his brain...out to lunch as far as I am concerned. It has been less than a good experience. Cons: Bad service more

Creative billing indeed 2/1/2009

As a former nerd I can say that the previous comment of encouraged creative billing is spot on. I was encouraged to pad the bill, to increase the cost of my average visit such as run unnecessary system scans or diagnostics. more

The worst and last choice in PC repair 1/16/2009

From my experience and those of my friends we have found that some Nerdz are great, but others are just terrible. Why roll the dice when there are other firms in town where ALL of their staff are great no matter who shows up? Pros: Sometimes you get a really good Nerd Cons: Sometimes you get a really BAD Nerd more

Service seems to vary GREATLY depending on which Nerd you get 1/16/2009

Charged us for 3 hours of work and did not fix the problem. Called a competitor and they had it fixed in under an hour. Called Nerdz for a refund and it was obvious that the manager was not technically savvy and did not understand my computer problem, eventually got refund after getting the run around. I cannot recommend Nerdz to anyone based on this experience. Pros: They were friendly Cons: Did not fix problem, trouble with refund more

Great, consistent, courteous and knowledgeable support for all my computers 1/6/2009

I want to highly recommend Computer Nerdz. I have used them for many years and they have helped me through many, many situations including multiple crashes. I haven taken laptops in to the store to be repaired and had them at my home for setting up networks and fixing broken drives. They always know what they are doing, get the work done in a timely manner, and I have never had to get anything redone that they repaired. I can't speak highly enough about their work. Pros: Quick, efficient, reliable, any of the staff can help, will try to save money for client Cons: Can't think of one more

Great computer repair! 4/1/2007

The Mesa place is closed so I called the Anderson store. The Nerdz were on time, professional, helpful and fixed up my PC in no time. I would call them again without hesitation. Pros: Professional, friendly, timely Cons: no more

Best computer repair ever! 4/1/2007

Despite some of the poor reviews here, I called the Nerdz in to take a look at my PC. They were easy to work with timewise, and I value my time - I don't like sitting around waiting for people. The Nerdz tech arrived precisely on time, had my computer up and running very quickly then gave me a few pointers about how to avoid having the same problems in the future. I was so pleased with their work on my desktop that I then took my portable to their walk-in place to have them repair the hard drive; again received excellent service and the portable is working like new. The Computer Nerdz are great! (PS - I was curious, so I asked the first tech who came to my house about the gas thing, he said they are compensated for their gas, not sure what the other reviewer is talking about.) Pros: knowledgeable, quick, thorough more

Nerdz to the rescue, NOT 1/15/2006

A company that makes their employees pay for their own gas and then not pay them if the services are not performed correctly is not a good company to invite into your house. They don't appreciate their employees and will take advantage of you. I suggest trying another computer service as you'll only be further upset and broke. more
