Wonderful experience! The food was excellent! Management and service were also great!

My friend and I went there for lunch. We had been told the house salad was to die for, but when I tasted it, I thought I was going to die! There was a huge mound of soggy iceber...

My boyfriend and I love little Italy. We have one restaurant that we go to religiously down there, but with this place being one of the ones participating in restaurant week we decided to give it a try. We made a reservation for a Saturday at 7:30 and we arrived 5 minutes early. The doorway near the hostess stand was packed with folks, but no one was at the hostess stand. We waited 10 minutes (or more) until someone finally came back to the hostess stand and we checked in with them. While waiting another 15 minutes we witnessed an older, grouchy waitress come up to the hostess stand and proceed to complain to the hostess in front of a crowd of people how ridiculous everything was and so forth. I have worked in the restaurant business for over 13 years and understand the stress and periodic need to complain, but you NEVER do so at the very front of the restaurant, at the hostess stand, in front of people who haven't even dined with you yet! more

Horrible salad 1/12/2009

My friend and I went there for lunch. We had been told the house salad was to die for, but when I tasted it, I thought I was going to die! There was a huge mound of soggy iceberg lettuce weighed down with tons and tons of parmesean cheese and dressing. That is all there was to the salad! There was no way it could be eaten. That was the worst salad I have ever had in my life. The waiter was kind and did not charge me for it, since I sent it back when I was unable to eat it. Pros: service Cons: salad more

Avoid Chiapparelli's 9/16/2008

Okay, this is my first online review about anything.....That should be a clue about how unhappy me and my friend were about this meal..... Pros: Looked pretty good on line Cons: Food was not good more

Avoid.... 6/15/2008

Where do I start.... The restaurant is jammed, tables one on top of another to begin with so forget an intimate setting. The service was HORRIBLE, we must have waited 15 minutes until the server even noticed we were sitting there. As for the food it was mediocre at best, though the Chip salad was actually decent. I would not reccomend this place. Pros: Valet Parking Cons: Ambiance, Food, Service...Everything more

Calimari is best around; Chip salad is # 1! 8/20/2006

This is the most fantastic little eatery I have ever been to. The service is always fantastic with a wonderful family atmosphere. My wife and I were recently there (without reservations) on a Friday night. We waited for about 45 minutes for a table (with our 5 year old). The staff was so kind that they even brought out a plate of french fries for our son while we waited. We have eaten there several times and I took my boss and potential new boss there for lunch and they were impressed. Pros: Food, atmosphere, staff Cons: Don't try to eat here on Friday or Saturday night without reservations. more

great lunch 8/22/2005

Three colleagues and I had lunch at this delightful restaurant in Little Italy, Baltimore. We shared a plate of Calamari for appetizer. The calamari was tender and the deep-frying light enough to preserve the taste; the marinara sauce was pretty good. For a main course three of us ate Antipasto Neapolitan with shrimp. The antipasto contained fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, capers and olives with a dressing of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It was excellent and the combination of antipasto and shared calamari was a perfect size for lunch. Lunch for 4, with service $70.00 Pros: Good food, good service, right price more

A Favorite 3/15/2003

This is a great family, neighborhood restaurant. The waitstaff has always been pleasant and the food has never been disappointing. Used to live in Little Italy and would always run down for their salad and bread to take home! We eat here at least four times a year, often with a large party. Pros: consistent, inexpensive more

Excellent Fettuccini! 2/11/2003

The fettuccini here is superb. Never had anything like it before...usually when I order this dish it comes out very heavy with too much cream. I appreciated the fact that this was on the lighter side. The salad was unique as well... I must say that the service was horrendous though. more

beware 11/19/2002

NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER BEEN SO INSULTED AS I WAS AT CHIAPPARELLI'S... I'm 23 years old but I often get carded for 18+ events... I look young, ok... but when I went to Chiapparelli's WITH RESERVATIONS, ON VALENTINE'S DAY with my boyfriend, they blatently put tables of older couples in front of us that had made later reservations. We waited for over an hour and then were sat next to the kitchen! I will never eat there again. Pros: location Cons: service, service, service more

going going gone 10/23/2002

As soon as you walk in, you just think to your self, why me? The staff is not only dum, but rude aswell. The Italian food you buy at your local market is five times better then the slop they call your entre'. If you want to sabotage a business meeting, take your clients here. Cons: big, old more
