cheetah closing 9/5/2007

It looks like Cheetahs charged my account for the end of August. I called my credit card and dispute the charge since it is arguably fraud and they agreed to pro-rate the charge. I lost 20 instead of 140 dollars. give it a shot. more

Too small and corwded 11/28/2006

The only thing I enjoy about the gym is the locaion. The space is very small and you really need to watch every step not to run into someone or a machine. They have a towel service which you need to give a dollar deposit which you get back but the towels are often old or they don't have any available after 7pm. \r You have to wait for the cardio machines to use them. If you have another option I would not go to this gym. Too bad Cruch in North avenue is too far for me. Pros: Location Cons: Small, crowded more

Cheetah Gym in Wicker Park 4/10/2006

Overall, I have enjoyed this gym in the year or so that I've been a member. But it is very, very small. The space is vertical (four floors up and down) and very tight on each floor. Machines are extremely close together and there is little room for free weights, stretching or other exercises. The cardio equipment is good (if you're into treadmills and crosstrainers) and each piece has its own flat-screen TV. But there isn't a huge variety. I like rowing machines for a change of pace, and this gym has only ONE (and it's stuck between two crosstrainers in a cramped space). The clientele is uniformly young and attractive, which is nice, but darn it, they should have picked a bigger building. Hours are excellent - they are open til 11 on weeknights, which is great for nighttime exercisers like me. more
