After years of loyal patronage, my last meal from Cedars, ordered via GH, was disappointing. The lamb and beef shawarma combo was cold, and to make matters worse, the meat was fatty and left a rancid aftertaste. The Shekariya was arrived hot, but was bland, and although the lamb was braised well, it was fatty. The grilled veggies consisted mostly of tomatoes. Switching my allegiances back to the Nile, for good! more

I think I am addicted to their Chicken Shawarma. The lentil soup never disappoints either. Baklava is also very good. The delivery is super fast and the food is nice and hot and yummy. Would highly recommend. more

okay so i always go to Cedars but when i had it delivered the other night they screwed up royally.... stay away from the lemon garlic chicken... spicy wings get an A++ and i want to add that they did go redeem themselves and replace my food twice when they messed up. I like their food overall and I will order again! more

Don't Do It!!! 7/22/2009

I know others like this restaurant, but I had the worst experience there with the service! A friend and I went last night and waited for over an hour for food that when it finally arrived looked so unappealing I wouldn't have fed it to my dog. Our waitress was very inattentive and did not help the situation. Despite our inexplicably extensive wait, I had to raise my hand as if I were in the third grade just to get her to come over and refill my water. She brought me a refill, but did not bring my friend one even though she clearly needed one also. There were very few people in the restaurant at the time, so the long wait was incomprehensible and unjustifiable. Pros: Decor Cons: Service & Food! more

Poor Option for Delivery 2/16/2007

I placed a delivery order from Cedars a few months ago, and the experience was so bad that it still lingers with me. I placed the order at around 4PM, was told that it would arrive within 45 minutes. It didn't arrive until after 6PM! And only after I called them to ask about it. I had to speak with three different people to find out where my food was, and the manager was completely unapologetic. Needless to say, I have and never will order from them again. Cons: Poor customer service more

Awesome All Around 7/23/2003

This has got to be the best Mediterranean Restaurant I have ever been to. They have awesome food and phenomenal ambiance. Although it is listed here as Cedars of Lebanon the name has changed to Cedars Mediterranean Kitchen. As it should be since they have an open kitchen for you to see it all and a great brick fired oven to watch the pita bake and meats roast! WOW is the only way to desscribe this place! Pros: Inexpensive, Good Parking, Great Music more

You'll Be Going Back For More! 2/4/2003

This restaurant has gotten even better! They have relocated to 1206 E. 53rd St, and now have unlimited free parking. The restaurant appears as if it belongs downtown or trendy Lincoln / Wicker Park. Delicious Mediterranean food in an American bistro setting, especially with their exhibition theater-style open kitchen. May be a 5-10 minute wait on weekends. Service is not excellent, but definately above average. Really close to University of Chicago / Museum Science & Industry. Pros: Unbelievable Food, Open-Kitchen Ambiance, Unlimited FreeParking Cons: Weekend 5-10 min wait more
