Best

This place is as authentic as it gets! Food is great, the service could be better, but definitely reminds you of home where the customer service experience is not what talks about...

Worst

Lots of potential here, but service is kinda scary. We have been a couple of times as we work close by, but you need to take at least 90 minutes out of your day.

Always packed full!!! But awesome! 12/18/2010

Yummm best ceviche in austin best tres leches in austin 4/29/2010

Go on the weekend their ceviche is the best. Everything on the menu is authentic and absolutely delicious. Be prepared to concentrate more on eating than on talking. This little spot outshines many of their competitors!! Pros: Location and food Cons: Could be a little prettier to match the great food more

Mmmmmm... Soooo gooooood.... 3/21/2009

Everything, and I do mean absolutely every item in the menu is great. Large portions and wide array of appetizers and deserts will ensure you leave this place packing several pounds. Be sure to try the juices and the Tres Leches. Pros: Everything on the menu is great Cons: Slow checkout more

Amazing food expect to have leftovers 7/23/2008

This restaurant is one of the best Colombian restaurants I have been to in Texas. The appetizers are amazing and really large, so big that last time i went I even debated if i wanted a main dish or not. The aborrajado,a fried mix of plantain and cheese, was my favorite. Both sweet and savory at the same time. The empanadas are large and with their homemade aji (spicy sauce) it made it a perfect beginning for the afternoon. The juices are also pretty good I recommend Maracuya made with water if you want a refreshing cold drink with a nice sour taste in the end. All the juices can also be made with milk instead of water making them a little bit thicker almost like a fruit milkshake. The main dishes are all delicious my favorite being the churrasco and the arroz con pollo (both also really really big). The desserts could be a little better but after eating so much food I never have any space for the dessert. The whole meal is really filling and i have never seen a table that did not leave without a take away bag. I hope if you decide to go you enjoy it as much as I do. Pros: Large portions, amazing appetizers, friendly waiters, friendly chef, small so personal service Cons: If packed plates take a little while more

Great food 7/10/2007

My boyfriend and I tried this place recently because it was close to my home and the menu sounded pretty tasty. I have to say that it was better than what I expected. Their soup of the day (I can't remember the name, it had a piece of corn on the cob in it) was amazing. He didn't care so much for the breaded steak but my arroz con pollo was really good. The relleno de papa is a must-try, as are the empanadas. Pros: The food. Cons: A little confusion with the bill (we used a coupon) but nothing that wasn't solved quickly. The Tres Leches wasn't what I am used to. It was dry. more

Mi Colombia 6/27/2006

I really love this place! The food and service are wonderful. I love to take my friends when they visit or just go have a nice lunch alone. I lived in Venezuela for awhile so the food reminds me a bit of the food there and it tastes just like the food they would make at our home, so even though you are going to a restaurant, you are still getting home cooked food. Pros: Food and the people more

This place is a new favorite... 5/20/2006

... A friend and I went last night. I was skeptical due to a couple of negative reviews. Let me tell you that the food was GREAT, the place had a great feel to it and our waiter, Felix (only his 2nd night on the job) was one of the best waiters I've ever had. Knowing traditional colombian food, I have a set of standards and this place met them. The chuleta valluna (pork tenderloin w/rice and plantains) was great as was the Ropa Vieja (yum). Also highly recommend the Maracuya (non alc. passion fruit drink). The yuca frita and the arepas were great as well. This is one of those places where I think I'll try something different every time.. Go to this place! Pros: Food, Waiter (Felix), Ambience Cons: Can get pricey, when you start, trying everything more

Service has improved and the food is always excellent! I give it two thumbs up more

Mi Colombia among my favs! 3/20/2006

Emilia's cooking is delicious! Regulars are treated like family. Small venue so it's not equipt to handle multiple groups at one time; however, I have had groups of 20 for dinner with no problems. Everyone was happy with service. Pros: Large portions, Reasonably priced, Good parking more

Wait Staff Needs to Improve 2/24/2006

Went with a small group for lunch , and was very disappointed with the service. We waited a little over an hour, and we never received our food. The reason why we hadn't received our food ? The waiter said that we had alot of people ( only 4 of us ), and that we had ordered alot of food ( we ordered the lunch specials ). Maybe in six months the kitchen/wait staff will get it together. As for now, I would avoid Mi Colombia until they can get their kitchen/wait staff coordinated. Pros: nice decor Cons: slow non-existent ser more
