I wish I had read the reviews before I bought! 3/24/2009

I have never written a review on a company before, but then, I've never received such terrible service before either. I will never buy furniture here again! My husband and I ordered a dining room set through this store during a year-end sale. We were required to pay the full amount up front (by check, no credit cards) and were told the furniture would be delivered in 8-10 weeks. The check was cashed within a few days. Five weeks after placing our order the salesman called to tell us the fabric he'd shown us had been discontinued, and that we needed to select new fabric "right away" to avoid a delay. We dropped everything and got to the store within 24 hrs to select new fabric. Eight weeks after placing the order, I called to get an estimate on our delivery date. I was told that because we had "changed our minds" on the fabric, it was delayed by 2 or 2 1/2 weeks. Changed our minds? We had no choice! Four MORE weeks have passed, and we not only have no furniture, I can't even get an estimate on when we WILL have furniture. It took a week to get a call back from customer service (you have to leave a voice mail, even during business hours). When I finally got a call back, I was told that the manufacturer couldn't give them a date and that it would "probably be another 3 or 4 weeks." It took several more calls to get through to the customer svc manager, who told me that he couldn't do anything to help. I left a voice mail for the owner and after more thana week and a half, I still haven't heard from him. I called again today, and still, all I get from the manager is "I haven't had time to talk to the owner about this", and "I have no idea when you'll get your furniture." I left another voice mail for the owner, but I doubt I'll hear back. They have our money, that's all they care about. Pros: none that I can see Cons: horrible customer service more

The worst 12/9/2008

I'm having the same problem. I ordered bedroom furniture for our child at the end of Oct and was told it would be 3-4 weeks. Now here it is Dec 10th and they are telling me it is on back order and will be several more weeks at least. They have no real idea when it will be here nor do they seem to care b/c they already have my money. Their customer svc people are useless and I cannot get in touch with anyone who has any power to do anything about it. I will NEVER EVER buy anything from them again. They're just terrible. Terrible 12/4/2008

Sounds like things haven't changed there. I purchased a bedroom set for my son at Kids & Teens Rooms, which is a part of Carolina Dinette Co. I was told I would have it three weeks ago and I am still waiting. I have called four different people on at least 5 occassions and have not received return calls. I have to keep calling to get a response and then when they tell me that they will call me back they never do. Right now they still don't even have the furniture to send me and are waiting for the manufacturer to return their call from a message that they supposedly left for them yesterday. Meanwhile I have another retailer who has the items in stock and can guarantee delivery to me within 2 weeks, but I am afraid of not getting my money back from Kids & Teens. UGH! I also tried to speak to the customer service manager, but he is out for the day. So, I asked for the owner who is also out today. Per the customer service representative there is no other individual in the company that has any authority to resolve my issue. more

Terrible service 4/26/2005

My mom bought a dinette from them. It was delivered on time, but was scratched in numerous places and the table did not come together straight. They said they would come and get it and fix it. This was 4 months ago!!!!! When talking to customer service they were very rude and unapologetic. They didn't offer any concessions for the huge inconvenience. I would never recommend this place to anyone!!! more

Poor Customer Service! 3/5/2003

We ordered a dining room set of table & chairs. The table was delivered in 5 weeks as promised...we are still, however, waiting on the 8 chairs and it has been almost 3 months since we placed the order! The customer service dept has done nothing to help the situation. We were never notified of the back-order until my husband called the company to check the status. Over a dozen phone calls later (calls that WE had to place), we were told that nothing could be done about the back order. The chairs cannot be 'returned' because everything you buy from Carolina Dinette is considered a non-refundable special order. Unless you have months to wait for your furniture and don't mind being left in the dark about your order, we would not recommend shopping at this store! Cons: Customer Service more
