Best

The food and atmosphere are great! Great for box lunches for all occasions. Highly recommend for board meetings and parties

Worst

The Bread and Company certainly has a wide selection of sandwiches and sides, but the price is high since no chips are included in the price. The Atlanta Bread Co. down the stree...

Quality gourmet bistro style cafe 8/23/2007

I disagree with the last members comment for this reason: Pros: gourmet food, not greasy slop food Cons: parking more

what next bread and company??? 8/22/2007

now they are limiting refills on those of us who bought their promo cups. promo cups were sold as buy one refill and then free refills for rest of the day. again, i understand cost, etc, BUT we are advertising for this company. come on Bread and Co. give your loyal customers some kind of break. Pros: convenient for my work, salads are good... pastries have gotten better Cons: prices, inconsistent food and service more

They raised their prices AGAIN!!!!! 6/14/2007

I can't believe how expensive this place is. Not worth it. I was shocked to find out my favorite salad went up by 2 dollars. Ridiculous!!!!! Won't be eating there anymore. Panera Bread here I come! Pros: good salads Cons: Insanely expensive more

Dirty, weird set-up 6/4/2007

Bread and Company was recommended by a friend. The food is good, but the restaurant was filthy beyond belief when we were there mid-afternoon on June 2. Every table was dirty, the floor was covered in trash and food, the display cases were covered in smears and fingerprints, the door was extremely dirty, the bathroom was not great. This points to an overall lack of attention to cleanliness, which concerns me regarding the kitchen cleanliness. The staff was not friendly and seemed to have an attitude. We had never been to the restaurant and could not understand how to order, and then had to stand around for 20 minutes for the order to be made. Very strange store layout, that does not make any sense at all. It would seem that this restaurant might benefit from studying the layout and ordering procedures of other bread-type stores such as Panera or Atlanta Bread Co. more

Terrible Service! Very unorganized! The food is good, but not worth the trouble. 4/21/2007

I used to really like going to the Green Hills location. I really like the food but I've decided not to go anymore. The service is very unorganized, and they make you wait in two different lines to get one sandwich. One to order, one to pay, and then back to the original line to pick up your order. The guy at the end of the sandwich line was very rude, and didn't have any time for me. But he had plenty of time to flirt with another girl who works there. I got an order to go, and had to ask for a bag to put it all in. He acted annoyed and threw it at me to bag myself. I don't need to pay $12.00, and wait 20 minutes for a lunch that I have to work so hard just to get home, sorry. I've started going to Kallamatas in Green Hills instead! The customer service there is much, much better! Pros: Good Food, Great Chicken Salad Cons: Not worth the wait and the attitude you get to deal with. more

Everything about the Restaurant was ""Over the Top"" 4/5/2007

I'm from St. Louis and was in Nashville for a Hockey Tournament and also spent time with a couple of clients. One of my clients suggested that we meet at the Bread and Company near Vanderbilt. What a great experience. My son, 14 had the HUGE Omelet while I had an egg sandwich, which was equally large. When I picked up my order at the back of the store, I passed one of the nicest looking Deli displays that I have seen. I love potato salad, so I had to try the ""Blue Cheese Potato Salad."" (What a Find!) Pros: Great Food Cons: For Lunch get there by 11:30 more

LOUSY Customer service they don't give a rip!! 3/30/2007

At 9:30 am, ordered lunch to be PICKED UP at 11am. They gave me a hard time ""Can't guarantee it will be ready, we'll try"". Jeepers. This was for a BOARD MEETING. I requested to fax the order so they wouldn't screw it up. Only ONE item (out of 6!!) had any variation from the standard menu. They don't take fax orders (this is proof they SHOULD). I picked it up and they ""inadvertently"" left off one persons lunch and the 6 cookies I ordered as well. When I called back, there was no apology, nothing. They offered to refund the $ on the salad, but nothing more. They didn't even ring up the cookies. Will NEVER order or eat there again!! They were RUDE both on the order call and when I returned to the office. Pros: Food is good if you can get it Cons: BAD customer service, snobby attitudes more

Don't Skip Breakfast 1/17/2007

I've never been a huge breakfast fan because I've always felt too rushed in the morning. But, being a new Mom I felt I needed all the energy I could get...recently I tried Bread & Company's omelets and now I indulge and have one every morning I can. I must confess I think I'm addicted. Seriously, if you love omelets go to Bread & Company over in Green Hills and have Chef Anthony cook you up something really good. They?re omelets are made to order and cooked up fast, even when I go in on a Saturday, and they have a nice list of ingredients to choose from, my fav is the mushroom, tomato and Monterey Jack, plus they?re HUGE. Really, these things are the size of those old cell-phones; you know the kind Zach Morris had on ?Saved by the Bell.? It?s funny now because I can?t see myself skipping breakfast, especially not when Chef Anthony is cooking. A New Mom needs all the HELP she can get!! Pros: Large, fresh delicious omelets...made to order. more

To die for! 1/4/2007

Wow...talk about making a girl happy! Whether I am having breakfast or lunch in the store or taking home bread and pastries to add a little something to our meals, Bread & Co is the answer! You can taste the quality in every bite! Pros: Everything I need in one spot! Cons: The 10lbs I gained from their holiday foods! LOL more

Happy Office 1/4/2007

Almost everyday our office and its staff are involved in long, most of the time drawn out, meetings. I can?t tell you how many times I ate those nasty sandwiches from chik-fil-a, seemingly the only place close enough that one of our mail guys could go and get. Not ANYMORE! On Friday our accountant told us about ordering from Bread and Company, which everyone loved but never thought about doing. Sure enough, we called that morning and had a lunch order for around 20 people delivered straight to the office. Sandwiches, Salads, Soups, bread, we had a wide variety going on. If you are like us and it?s tough to get out, get a boxed lunch from Bread and company. Pros: Everything Cons: Wish there were more of them! more

Those heaters really work! 12/24/2006

At Bread & Company just because it?s winter time doesn?t mean you more

Finally found my spot? 12/20/2006

Being somewhat new to Nashville (2 ? years) I?ve been constantly looking for that perfect breakfast/lunch spot that I can call mine. Recently I found just that spot! A friend of mine took me to a place she highly recommended and told me before hand what great salads and sandwiches they had, she even went as far as to describe some of HER favorite sandwiches and the ingredients they had on them (sliced apples!). My initial reaction to the store was positive, the wood-grain feel, with the long bar down the center gave the store sort of a cozy feeling. Looking at the menu and being impressed with the massive amounts of choices to choose from (the sandwich selection had 20+ choices!) I actually chose not to take my friend up on her recommendation of the Almond-Tarragon Chicken sandwich and instead went with my gut (or stomach, I suppose) and tried what sounded the tastiest?and so begun my love affair with Bread & Company?s Fresh Mozzarella sandwich. Quite honestly I?d never tasted anything like it and was almost embarrassingly impressed with how great the sandwich tasted, I kept telling my friend, ?this tastes incredible!? I was also given the choice of ordering an apple instead of the kettle chips, which seems simple but meant the world to someone trying to do their best with their diet. Our service was friendly, the atmosphere was cozy and the food was incredibly fresh. Looks like I finally found my spot. Pros: Ambience Cons: None! more

Good but could be better.... 12/6/2006

I agree with what others have written about lack of staff, I go to the Belle Meade one often and they usually have only 2 cashiers...but other helpers milling about doing I don't know what. It's annoying to have a sandwich to go and get behind someone who's ordering loaves to be cut up and other special orders. This one is in a *prestigious* area of town and the staff sometimes acts that way too, which is way out of line. The food is good, and usually consistent quality. The sandwiches do appear to have gotten smaller in the past 3 months or so. They need to work on their soups, it would be great to find a place with really good soups to go and I have not found any in West Nashville. B & C's soups are too salty and don't have that homecooked flavor. Some of the desserts are very good, but many have that assembly line taste, meaning produced in large quantity and don't taste homemade. It never fails to amaze me how lacking Nashville is in great to go places. Bread and Company is very good and I know some think it's fabulous, but compared to other large cities and what they have to offer in the to go category, it's kind of laughable. Pros: good selection, quick eats Cons: slow service more

Working Lunch? Quality Box Lunches to satisfy all. 11/7/2006

My workplace often orders several choices of box lunches from Bread & Company. My favorite is the chicken salad on cranberry nut bread. The chicken salad is generous and perfectly moist containing sliced almonds and garnished with tomatoes and lettuce. Their mild meaty chicken salad complements the sweet nuggets of cranberry and the crunch of walnuts in the sandwich bread which is savory not sweet. Included in the box are chips, a cookie and extra mayonnaise and mustard (which are not needed as the chicken salad is impeccably seasoned). Being served from Bread & Company makes contented employees who are agreeable to working through lunch. Pros: Gourmet fresh food more

Best sandwich in town 10/26/2006

I love Bread & Company sandwiches and salads. They are always fresh and wonderful. I think their carry-out items are also very good. Try the pulled Turkey sandwich, it is excellent. It is always very clean as well. more

Great if you can take the crowd. 10/13/2006

I can safely say everything I've ever had there is excellent. Quality food expertly prepared. The staff is nice but spread to thinly. The problem is the patrons. The most snooty, entitled group I ever run into. It's safe to say I don't run in those hoity-toity circles, but when you get a good look you know why you choose not to be around them. Their entitled and they're in a hurry and they'll step right in front of you. Pros: delicious, delicious, delicious! Cons: staff overworked, patrons tick me off nearly every time more

Bread & Company is overrated 1/31/2006

Although the food is decent, overpriced. Not enough help, although most employees are nice, they are worked too hard. more

My favorite lunch spot! 12/10/2005

I am a huge fan of Bread & Company. The sandwiches are delicious, and the fruit tea is the best in town. Their breads are amazing and it's one of those places I feel just as comfortable eating by myself as I do with a large group. Quick, convenient, delicious...who could ask for more? Pros: delicious food, quick, convenient Cons: a little pricey, crowded at times more

TERRIBLE place! 12/7/2005

The wait lines are extremely long. The staff turnovers are incredible. The food is good but not good enough to pay the ridiculous prices. Shape up Bread and Company or you'll be out of business. Pros: okay food Cons: everything else more
