Two of my favorite things in life. However, I can enjoy neither simultaneously. And it's the first of three reasons why I'm looking for another Pilates studio. Located next to Plainfield's Mayur Restaurant, wafts of Panch Phora break the mind-body connection, diverging thoughts from inhale/exhale to imbibe/devour. Next reason is the third floor mat class studio presents an awkward and restrictive space for groups larger than six people. Expect obscured views to your instructor and exchanging bumps with limbs belonging to your mat class neighbor. And finally if curry and crowded rooms don't deter you, than be prepared to bring your own mat. When I've been instructed to take the flight position (head on the mat, lifting your head slowly, feeling the space btwn your shoulders opening) I find it impossible to ignore the studio provided mats steamy stench of sweaty breath left behind by previous Pilates lovers.
Pros: friendly, location, group class schedule
Cons: space for mat classes, cleanliness/hygiene, ventilation
