The MOST AMAZING hair color I have ever received! After a nightmare experience at the salon I normally go to, I went to Paul in hopes of having my orange-green hair fixed. He completely exceeded my expectations! Paul spent almost 4 hours with me, making sure that each and every mistake my former hairdresser had made was corrected. I absolutely LOVE my hair now! The color is rich and has dimension... the brassy orange hue is 100 % gone! Paul is truly the most talented and devoted hair stylist I have ever met, and he transformed my "ruined" hair into a stunning masterpiece. INCREDIBLE! 12/3/2011

INCREDIBLE! I hope Paul never leaves because it's taken me 18 years in Portland to find him! I've been to many 'good' salons: Blades, Tribe, Ward Stroud, on and on, but have not been happy with the cuts and color I've received, until now. I love my color and it lasts! Most amazing: Paul took a really terrible cut and transformed it into exactly what I wanted, in one appointment and without cutting my hair too short. I don't know how he did it. No so great! 10/29/2011

I made an appointment online, the next day I got a call from Ashley sayin I needed to rescheule . Ahsley told me the lady who had an appoinment before me scheduled online incorrectly therefore instead of rescheduling the lady who booked wrong Ashley made me reschedule. I did agree to come in at a different time as I still wanted to give the place a chance. I was the last appointment of the day and they acted I was inconveniencing them even though they rescheduled me. My haircut took a total of 15 minutes and was a trim even though I told Paul exactly what I asked for. I even showed a picture to Paul of how I wanted my bangs and walked out with completely uneven/chopped bangs. I will not be returning to this place nor will I recommend this place to anyone. Great Cut & Color! 1/20/2011

I recently had my hair cut and colored by Paul. He gave me a great cut and corrected my color so that it looks more natural. My husband was pleased! Paul provided me with tips on how to style my hair at home and suggested a nice lip and cheek color. more

My bad! I previously mistakenly believed that a hair-cutter simply cuts hair, and that a $10-20 haircut is as good as a $50-60 haircut at a prestigious address. I was WRONG! more

Paul has exceptional skill and makes my hair look FABULOUS!! I am always happy with the result, he is consistent -- if I want the same look each time I get it -- and when I was ready for a change he listened and followed through. Paul is friendly and genuine, and you can tell he really loves his industry. He is meticulous and detailed, giving 100%. His cutting skills are highly advanced, as is his beautiful color. Amazing! 11/12/2009

Just what i had been looking for a proffessional salon (the owner has over 30 yrs exp.) without all the pretention of your typical upscale portland salon. I had heard about them from a friend and decided to try them out, boy am i glad i did! I came to him with a horrible color job i had paid too much for at a pricy well known salon downtown. Paul(the owner and main stylist) knew exactly what tones to add to create a flattering color that i am constantly recieving compliments for. He was very fair and generous with his time, qualities which are sometimes very hard to find.I was told my hair would have to be stripped-which is extremely damaging- to achieve the color i wanted but paul was able to mix a beautiful color that was exactly what i wanted and after using a 4 part treatment system at no extra charge i left there with hair that has NEVER looked or felt better. Pros: Hollywood hair at a reasonable price Cons: none more

Awesome job! 11/5/2009

Ive been seeing paul at the blue chair salon for a few months now and absolutely love my hair each time i see him. I go to him because he has an opinion of how my hair should look in relation to my face shape and coloring instead of just asking me what i want. Often in the past when ive gotten a great haircut i am dissapointed when the stylist fails to recreate it the next time but pauls consistancy is on point and i am always thrilled with the outcome. I never have felt rushed and am always greeted with a friendly attitude. Paul obviously has a great deal of experience a takes pride in his work even going so far as to refresh my color in between touch ups at no extra charge. Paid too much, hair is uneven, hair is falling 11/3/2009

He said he would charge me $60, no first time discounts. He seemed like he understood what I was looking for so I didn't mind paying $60, when he actually charges $55. I have short hair and struggle to find a great stylist who consistently creates a great cut. I have been with Rachel for several years now after going to stylist after stylist. I could never get the right cut or color. The cut would either be bulky or frumpy. The color to bleachy. Rachel is PERFECT. I am a mom, so never want to feel frumpy. She always cuts my hair to fit my style, even when we switch it up a bit. You know a good stylist when you can airdry and it looks cute! She also does amazing color. My hair has highlights that never seem to look obvious when they grow out. AND, she styled my hair when I got married several years back, and does an awesome job with that too! I got a hair cut and color form paul and it is absolutly beautiful!!! I wasnt really sure what I wanted and paul worked with me and we figured out something fun and funky. It's the best hair cut and color I have ever had. The color is rich and bright and hasnt faded a bit since he did it! I have gotten so many compliments on it its crazy, even my boyfriend commented on how good it looks and he never notices though kinds of things! I have never felt so good about the way I look!!! Paul is such an amazing hair stylist he can work with any kind of hair, he has so much experience! and the enviroment was professional yet fun and they serve you beverages it is so nice!! They even have wine if you want it!! yummy... I was so relaxed and had so much fun being engaged in exciting conversation!! you have got to check out this salon!!!! Great Haircut! 4/6/2009

Paul is great!!!! I love my haircut! I brought in some photos of haircuts/styles that I wanted to achieve with my hair and asked him what it would take and if it was doable or not. He looked through it and assessed my hair and gave me the perfect haircut to achieve the look I wanted! I never thought I'd be able to get this style with my hair type because I have really thick, heavy hair and the look I was going for was romantic and wispy. I came to Blue Chair after an awful experience with a color correction at Bliss (this is when you screw up your own hair trying to be thrifty with home hair color and end up paying twice as much to have a professional fix what inevitably goes wrong.) My home hair color was live-able, just not what I wanted, but the girl at Bliss made it a LOT worse and then refused to fix it. Pros: Cuts, color, price, staff Cons: none more
