Berenices

I write this hoping that the owner reads it and learns from it. I have been a Berenices customer for a year and I will not come back because I have had a total of 3 bad experiences in one year. None of the experiences were terrible, but collectively, I'm not willing to put up with the experiences. I am a generally understanding customer because I have worked with people a lot and I know it can be difficult. I find the staff at Berenices to be unhelpful. Particularly, today, the shorter lady at the front desk (working between 1-2pm on 4/10/09) came off as cold and rude - rather than listening to my needs she told me what she thought I needed. On a previous occasion I asked for help regarding makeup products. The lady that I talked to had no idea what to suggest and asked the lady that was tweezing someone's eyebrows. That lady suggested something without really listening to what I wanted. I got it and what do you know, I have used it once because it wasn't what I wanted. Also I got a really bad hair cut there when I couldn't see my normal stylist. The woman who messed up my hair should not have let me leave unhappy. It was obvious that something wasn't right and instead of making sure that I left happy, the stylist hurried off to the next customer. Nevertheless, instead of leaving and never coming back, I came back and let the owner fix it. I realized that I don't care that my hairstylist does a good job on my hair (there are plenty of good hairstylists out there), I didn't want to be in the same room as women that don't understand customer service and, at times, come across as cold and rude. A salon experience is supposed to be one where you feel welcome and pampered. I suggest that the owner be more careful in choosing employees so people like coming to Berenices. I've been to Berenices only twice, but I swear by the person who cut my hair. I was new to Denver when I first came to Berenices, but my hair stylist left such a good impression and fantantsic haircut that I had to go back. This is after leaving my hairstylist of 11 years. She gave honest advice and wasn't trying to push the recommended Aveda products. I chose this salon b/c it was convenient to where I live and glad I did. The atmosphere is lively but not obnoxious. My wait wasn't long. Plus they start off with a scalp massage, sometimes shoulder massage too. As a final result, I have been very happy with my haircuts and would recommend going there. The prices were expected since it's an Aveda spa. I would skip the Cherry Creek salons down the street for this place instead! Pros: Location more
