Treats members like visitors and visitors like members! 8/25/2010

Can't be more frank but ever since Club Corp took over Barton Creek it is never been the same. I find it to be also racist to a point where I was sitting in the members lounge and witnessed two BC members quacking about how we are not supposted to be friendly or speaking with the hispanic servers. SHOCKED AND HORRIFIED. If you don't fit there Barton Creek mold there will do everything to make it worse for you to stay a member. I do alot of business there but moved my meetings to other downtown locations. I was a member and say goodbye to idiots who do not understand that some of there members are really racist and just bad apples in the group. They rid the good and keep the liars, scammers, creeps and racist. If you look around the club they have all white but hardly any blacks or Hispanics. Now that is racist! I love all people of any color race or religion and this is not a club it is a cult of hatred.Beware !! Not missing anything in this Club. more

Comfortable Stay and Average Service 1/2/2010

I have stayed at this resort a few times within the last year. I only come when they have specials because the rooms are average, nothing exceptional; however, they are clean and comfortable. The beds; however, are amazing. You will sleep like a baby in their beds, I hate to part when them in the morning. Their front desk staff isn't very friendly and they consistly provided me with incorrect information during my last stay. For them to be in the hospitality industry, they haven't quite mastered the hospitable part just yet. I had the bed and breakfast package and was very satisfied with the breakfast selections each day. Also, the waitstaff in the restaurant was exceptional. If all of their employees had the personality and attentiveness of the waitstaff, it would be a much more pleasant place to stay. My biggest complaint about this resort is the noise level. If the guests adjacent to you like to talk loud, you will be up all night. It's as if they have very little insulation in the walls. At times it can be rather noisy which makes it extremely difficult to sleep. Other than that, it's a nice place to stay. One suggestion for them is to come up with a loyalty program...preferrably like the Omni Hotels. The Omni Hotels loyalty program is bar none. It would be nice if they showed some appreciation for frequent visitors. For all the times I have stayed with them over the last year, I have received nothing...not even a Thank You or Welcome Back. During my most recent stay at the Omni in Dallas, the front desk staff sent me a bottle of champagne and they upgraded my room to a suite upon arrival...all free of charge because of my frequent stays with them. In addition to that, I get free WiFi, turn down service, free beverages delivered to my room each morning, free bottled water each day, free room nights...the list goes on. Barton Creek needs to show some appreciation for their loyal guests before someone else steals them away. Pros: View, Very Comfortable Beds, Clean Rooms, Balcony, Amenities Cons: Noise, Service more

Romantic retreat was exactly that 4/12/2009

For not having to go out of the country here it is: My wife and I had the greatest time this weekend. We played a round of golf at the famous Crenshaw course that bar none was as beautiful as it was a challenge to the amateur. Our dinner together was as fine as any restaurant in town with service that far exceeded most 5 star eateries. The room was impeccably clean and had a ""new"" feeling. The staff was happy to cater to our every want and need. But there were very few needs that weren't already thought of before hand. The grounds were beautiful and our naturewalk on Easter Sunday was delightful with the wildlife that habitats the Hill Country abounding the path. Breakfast was equal to our meal the night before. Simply topshelf service from a well run establishment designed to cater to a clientele that knows what service is supposed to be. Pros: 5 star service Cons: Not Belize more

Save yourself the time and money 2/15/2009

My wife and I first visited this hotel around November of 2007 and we loved our stay. I couldn't have said one bad thing about that experience. How things can change in a year and 3 months....we just got back from a V-day trip and will never be going back. Pros: View, view, view, location, comfy beds, nice bath products, decor, friendly dining staff Cons: Don't honor bed type and special requests, price, hotel management more

Terrible service, avoid for your vacation/event 1/16/2007

June 2007 update: After attempting to reach the manager of Barton Creek several times BEFORE our wedding, he finally called us AFTER our wedding. He was defensive and offered us nothing for our trouble. Be careful with this place... Pros: Hill Country setting Cons: Terrible service, inexperienced and rude staff, overpriced more

Not Country Club Atmosphere 10/22/2006

Unfortunately, I felt I was at my college gymnasium instead of a country club. The most relaxing part of the spa experience was my drive into the club. Alhough the massage was relaxing, the spa lacks a locker room attendant and is fairly outdated, making the country club price tag seem overpriced. Pros: Great Location, Same Day Appointment Available Cons: Ambience lacking more

Austin's Little Secret 1/5/2006

I had no idea you could go to the spa at Barton Creek Resort until I received a gift certificate for my birthday. This place is really great. I love the natural grapefruit stuff they use! Pros: location - it's quiet more
