Everything you read or hear about Arabella is true! You are greeted by friendly staff, and a gracefully arranged space. Arabella is extraordinary. I was referred to Beth Ann who I found to be an artful and effecient stylist. She pinpointed the ideas I had for my style and brought them to life in a pleasant and effortless way. The rooftop garden that everyone mentions is truely noteworthy. I look forward to making many more appointments at Arabella with Beth Ann and other members of Arabella's impressive staff. Arabella is a pleasant surprise amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This salon, located in a loft in NE Portland, not only stays current with the latest fashion but also is an oasis, with a rooftop garden and an elegant, yet funky interior design. Amanda Williams, the owner of this salon, has been cutting and coloring for many years. Shes usually the first stylist Hollywood calls, when a movie is scheduled for production in Portland. Her casual, friendly demeanor makes your visit pleasurable and unhurried. She uses great hair products, and you always come out looking fabulous (and it stays that way). Ive been to other salons in Portland, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Europe. I have to say, this salon makes me feel the most comfortable. (She even has a basket of toys for kids.) And I get exactly what I want. Thanks Amanda! more

Great Space, Great Service 7/5/2005

Yesterday I visted Arabella for the first time and words really cannot describe this salon. It is a very classy salon that does not make you feel uncomfortable for being in jeans and a teeshirt. I very much recomend BethAnn my stylist, she listened carefully to what I wanted and gave me the best scalp massage I've ever had. I have finally found my haircut home. more

Arabella is sanctuary. Beth Eyler has a gift for understanding both what hair needs and what the client needs to look and feel great. She genuinely listens to her clients, makes excellent suggestions that have proven beautifully and healthfully effective time-and-again, and, with remarkable skill, consideration, and gentility, delivers the best results. Beth Eyler sustains a congenial person-to-person communication with her clients that is a rare find these days. more

I was recently referred to Beth Ann who is a new stylist at Arabella. She really listened to my needs and concerns, and put me instantly at ease. Beth Ann gave me exactly the hair style I have been trying to get from other stylist in town for years. She has a bubbly and energetic personality which is a perfect contrast to the cozy and elegant salon. I highly recommend Arabella Salon and Beth Ann for your next hair style experiance! I look forward to every appointment I have at Arabella Salon. Amanda Willimas cuts and colors my hair and always does an amazing job. I look forward to my appointments and I not only enjoy how great my hair looks, but I love getting the opportunity to chat with Amanda and the rest of the staff at Arabella. Arabella is located in such a great space and the roof top garden is really something to be seen. I also recently started getting my brows waxed by Stephanie and she did a great job. I really appreciate being able to get my hair, facial and massage needs all taken care of in one place. Take the opportunity to stop by Arabella and I am sure you will love it just like I do. more

Everything I wanted and more!!! 6/21/2005

I loved this place! The stairway up is the most luscious,red you've ever seen in your life you know there is a secret at the top of those stairs! The door opens into the most amazing creative loft space ton's of light and a great down to earth staff. Everything is so sweet. Amanda did my color and hair cut nobody has ever got that so right . I already rescheduled because Amanda books up fast! Oh ya next time I go I am getting a spa foot bath on the roof top GARDEN and a facial made of fresh products formulated for my skin type on the spot by Stephanie. I can't wait! This is a girl's secret little hideaway! A relaxed, tranquil environment is fully equipped with great music, a rooftop garden with water features and eclectic furnishings is a perfect place to relax while your hair color sets! And speaking of haircolor, Amanda is a color tech wonder! She's also a fabulous haircutter and really understands how hair grows and needs to be cut. Highly Recommended 6/17/2005

I continually recommend this salon, and in particular, Beth Eyler, to many of my friends. The salon itself is a relaxing space in NE Portland with much character and inspiration. There is a beautiful outdoor patio with fountains and plants. A stylist at Arabella Salon, Beth Eyler, is a natural hair stylist. She has an ability to understand her client's hair and the cut that would work best. I personally have thin, straight hair, and it is difficult to find a stylist that understands what works best for my hair. I have been going to Beth for the past 3 years because she has such a great understanding of the cuts that make my hair look best with minimal styling. I would highly recommend this salon for its character and knowlegable talent. more

Perfection! 6/16/2005

I was amazed at this salon and it's seemingly secret location - I felt like a movie star having access to such an oasis... I even got to relax in their roof top garden. My hair was exactly what I had hoped for - healthy, amazing color & the cut made me comfortable in my skin for the first time in a while. Perfect brows too! I'll be back for a facial and massage. I recently went to Arabella Salon for a couple different services as per recommendation by my co-worker. I first got my hair done by Amanda, owner of the salon. She was attentive and listened to my wants and concerns. She colored my hair to perfection and the cut was the best I've had. She also started me on a new shampoo - Davines - smells and feels wonderful. My hair never looked better. Next, I went to Stephanie for waxing. She did my brows and brazilian. Stephanie wasn't shy and made me feel so comfortable. My brows are not too thin too - a common mistake I've had with other waxers. My "for my face shape" instruction worked! OH! and the artwork - cool hair art! So I had to write a review - something I've never done before - because my experience there was beyond fantastic. I'll be back! more

OH!! I could gush about Amanda's salon forever! I had a wonderful cut and color done and not only was it the most professional service I've ever had, but just the best style. She really listened and took my unique features into conderation. Plus as a surprising bonus Amanda boasts an impressive resume including television and film work. I know who I'm going to have for my wedding! The salon also has other wonderful amenities such as a massage, facials, waxing, manicures, and pedicures! more

Uh, Stephanie did my brows today and I can't believe how perfect they are... She is frikkin awesome! Plus now I know that she does other waxings, and facials... next time I get my bikini waxed I am SO going to her. Nice atmosphere too. I'll definitely be going back. more

ARABELLA COULDN'T BE BETTER! 6/2/2005

Amanda Williams, who is the creative mind behind Arabella, has been cutting/coloring/fashioning my hair for over 10 years and I've never been disappointed. This woman knows hair, as does the other staff at Arabella. You can't go wrong - a perfect haircut, color, style, etc, a fabulous massage, cleansing facial and all contained in a comfortable, urban atmosphere. They have a beautiful rooftop garden that lives in perfect harmony with the loft style salon. Don't just go for a haircut! Have your entire wedding party beautified at Arabella, or plan an evening spa event with your friends at the salon! I can't recommend Arabella highly enough, when you go there you will feel that you've found a secret gem in a city ridden with substandard salons. Enjoy! Treasure in the hood 5/27/2005

Arabella will shock you. From the outside it looks almost scarey, but once you climb those decripate stairs and enter the salon, IT'S AMAZING. The Staff is all so incredibly nice and so down-to-earth. I highly recommend this place for all your services whether it be hair, massage or skin. Oh, and wait until you see their back patio!!!!! It is hard to find someone who understands YOUR hair. How many times have you gone to a place and left feeling dissatisfied? Not at Arabella...
