I was very disappointed with the results and I did give it another try only to feel more disappointed. I got a very bad haircut & was a simple cut. My stylist was not friendly. I think all the great reviews were written by the owner himself or his friends and family. Pros: zero Cons: everything more

Best Stylist I have ever had 9/11/2008

I was new to Alante salon, and have had my hair hilighted at Jackson Ruis, Avante, and Brad's. I picked a salon on the drag thinking it was an Aveda concept salon. It was not what I was expecting, but in a good way. I was charmed into a highlighting service from Jimmy, even though he did not use Aveda. WOW!!! Unbelievable! I have been paying way too much at other Aveda salons. Jimmy expained to me that he used Wella, and I was blown away with the results. His teqnique was superb, and his work meticulous. Jimmy is the best colorist in Austin. 9/10/2008

I went to Alante after having several stylists at other salons give me unsatisfactory results. Jimmy listened to my request, and made me look amazing. It was exactly what I asked for, and Jimmy made sure I was comfortable avery step of the way. He and Christy (the other stylist) bare a match made in heaven. I will be coming here again. The salon had a very good vibe. I would reccommend them to any of my friends. Pros: NOT STUFFY , Relaxed environment, good people! Cons: n/a more

Best Haircut I have ever had 8/25/2008

I love the convenient location of Alante, and have been coming there for 2 years. Jimmy was a new stylist I had never had, and I was apprehensive at first. He honestly gave me the best haircut I have had anywhere in Austin. He will without a doubt be a great addition to the staff. Pros: great stylists more

Lets start out with that if you are ever scared to get your hair cut any where by any one there is no fear if you go to CAT! She is good at what she does. I have followed her every where she has worked at. I have been getting my hair done by her for years and i have referred so many people to her. She takes her time to listen to what you want and will explain the pros and cons of the hair cut. On top of her hair cuting skills she has a awsome personalilty! I highly recommend Cat! Cat (the best) 10/2/2007

I was devastated when I got a hair cut from someone at _____ she completely ruined my long healthy hair. Someone told me about Cat that she is the best so I thought I would go see. She completely knew what they?d done and how to fix it. I am so glad I found her and will never go anywhere else. THANK YOU!!!! Cat was amazing 8/29/2007

I brought in pictures of the haircut I wanted and she was able to cut it to fit me. The highlights look really great and she listened to me when I explained my request for ""low maintenance"". Not only that, but she recommended hair products and it was not a sales pitch. I love my hair ... thank you, Cat :-) more

Best Salon for Back To School Style! 8/16/2007

I just went to Cat at Alante for my back to school haircut, and I couldn't be happier! She really listened to what I was wanting and took the time to discuss my cut with me. During the cut, she continually told me what she was doing to my hair and why. Go see Cat! She's the best! Pros: Fun, talented staff! GREAT value! more

Best hair cut, color n conversation in Austin! 7/24/2007

Complements abound! Again I've had the BEST experience getting a cut and color from Donnie, who has been doing my hair for about 5 years, and every time I'm delighted! I've learned to give Donnie carte blanche to do what he will with my hair and color...and voila...the perfect do! While I may want a punky look one time and a more traditional look another, Donnie always comes through for me. And as a long-time hat wearer, I 'test' all his hairdos, whether short or long, with my collection of hats. Donnie has an eye for sizing up what looks good on me, and we work together to achieve my goals...one time it was a short haircut with a 'tail' in back following my natural hair growth--that was fun--other times it's working with longer hair. While conveniently located at 21st & Guadalupe, Alante Salon has a casual and relaxing atmosphere with great hair & styling products for sale, and always with professional expertise and consultation readily available. Alante is a great place to give your business, and for those of us 'urbanites', it's also on the bus routes! Pros: Nice people, nice atmosphere, professional cuts & color! more

I just got my hair cut at Alante Salon by Cat. She is friendly, professional and a fabulous hair dresser. I was not really sure what I wanted to do so Cat took the time to explain what would look best with my face and hair and she executed the cut wonderfully. For the past few years I have been to Alante and have had good experiences with a few stylist. I can't remember her name but I really like the new girl there. She gave me a card and I lost it.(sorry) I will continue to go there because it is a place I can trust. Pros: on campus and trustworthy more

Great Haircut 7/15/2006

I had my haircut by Donnie last week. I have very fine hair, the haircut I received added texture and volume to my hair like I have never had before. He also made product recommendations and showed me new styling techniques that have made my life much easier. Pros: Professional & Relaxing Atmosphere more

I have found my new Salon!! 6/6/2006

I began going to Alante when my hair stylest of four years, Donnie, began working at the salon. Donnie has always done an excellent job with colors/highlights, cuts, and styling! He listens to everything that I want done and the outcome is always exactly what I pictured. He is also very focused on the overall health of my hair as well, which is something that I feel is very important. On my first visit to the salon, I was very pleased with the atmosphere. I enjoyed going to a salon that wasn't in the mall or a crowded place. I actually got to relax while I was getting my hair colored and cut. The other staff was also very friendly and enjoyable to be around, and the price was very affordable. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND ALANTE salon to my friends and co-workers! Thank you Donnie! Coolest Place to get a cut 1/31/2006

I absolutely loved this salon! After having a bad experience at another salon, I was incredibly happy to find Alante with its talented staff. My hairstylist was absolutely wonderful and worked well with my curly hair. I have never recieved so many compliments for any other hairstyle.
