I love this place!! 10/20/2003

At first we could not find it becuase it was located in a building of suites. Once we found it we walked up the stairs and rang the door bell. The lady that opened the door looked happy to see us. We sat down in the waiting area and were asked if we wanted to pay ahead and what type of tea we would like to drink. We were walked back into this gourgeous sitting area and given robes, slippers, and garment bags for our belongings. We were given foot bathes,tea, and a choice of aroma therapy scents. We then got our massages, mine from a lady named Tiffany. IT WAS THE BEST!! The lighting, music, and smell were great!!! The shower was fantastic, like a water fall. All the products were Aveda. We are going to go there at least once a month!!!! I felt like a queen!! Pros: professional, relaxing Cons: can't find it more

Wow! As a visitor from the East Coast, I can only say we have nothing like Aequis back there! Professionalism and talent abound with their amazing staff. I received a massage and facial and came out feeling so relaxed and pampered. Great atmosphere, peaceful. rejuvinating. Next time I am back in Portland, Aequis will be on my agenda first thing. Girls Night Out 10/15/2003

A few girlfriends and I just had the most wonderful time at Aequis. We received facials and massages and it was unlike anything we have ever experienced before. The sevice and staff were a 10. The services we received left us feeling relaxed and refreshed. I would like to personally thank the staff for customizing my facial due to my sensitive skin type. I was nervous going in and you knew exactly what to do! With the long list of services and wonderful smelling products we now know just exactly what to give for the upcoming holidays. Thanks. more

Brought me back to earth 10/14/2003

I've been under quite a bit a pressure at work lately and my wife thought I should take a couple of hours to relax so she sent me to Aequis for a Saturday am visit. The experience was the perfect escape! amazing what a simple massge can do to calm and relax you. I plan on going back at least monthly (maybe more?). Thanks for the centering :) more

Fantastic!! 10/13/2003

I've experienced a few body treatments at Aequis and have been totally blown away. The shirodhara treatment and the Goddess Bliss took me to another world and I will be back for more. The therapists were highly attentive towards everything I could possibly need. Thank you Aequis Spa! more

Best Spa Experience 10/6/2003

I had the Dakini Skywalking treatment and it was by far the best spa experience I ever had. The atmosphere is out of this world incredible. It felt like I was stepping into an inner sanctuary. After the treatment, they give you access to shower facilities because you are oily and washing off enables you to put your clothes back on. they rushed me out the door a bit when I was done. The only complaint I have is that they rushed me out the door a little fast before I was completely ready and this sort of jilted me back into the real world before I was ready. They were nice about it, but they wanted me out of there so they could deal with their next customer. That kind of makes you feel a little less special. Especially when you consider what you're paying them. Cons: No parking more

AEQUIS SPA RETREAT IS A MUST! 8/15/2003

I had the opportunity to experience The Aequis Spa. Let me tell you! There is no other Spa as unique and contouring to a woman's needs! I received the pedicure and facial done by Melanie, which was absolutely a euphoric journey. I cant wait to go back and highly recommend Melanie! She's the best!!! Pros: Best Pedicure Ever, Hours of relaxation, Best Facial Ever Cons: Robes are only XL, Dont serve Wine, Dont paint toes more

Gorgeous!! 7/11/2003

I received a massage and facial at Aequis and had an "experience" unlike any other. The therapists were intuitive and personable. The atmosphere was intriguing and incredibly calming. I needed the peace and quiet and the attention to my body. I received far more than I could have ever imagined. Thank you to the entire staff of Aequis! I will be back. Great value, wonderful staff. A very holistic approach to the individual. Calming environment. I received a facial and it included a foot wash/massage, my choice of ingredients & scents for my facial and a mini-massage/scalp massage. I highly recommend it! Best Birthday Ever 6/4/2003

I live in California, but was recently in Oregon to walk in the Columbia Gorge Marathon and visit with my dear friends Kathleen and David. My friends gave me a very generous gift certificate to your spa as a birthday present, and I have to say it was one of the most special, nurturing experiences I have had in a very long time. Everyone in the spa made the experience very special. I especially wanted to thank Miriam for the the beautiful massage she gave me. It was a truly spiritual and nurturing experience, and I could sense her healing and caring touch through out my entire massage. I went here with my bridal party for a pre-wedding get away; the enviroment was totally relaxing, my facial was OK but think next time I will for sure go for a massage instead! I would go back just for the enviroment; its amazing! Pros: enviroment, peaceful, relaxing Cons: very pricey more

So, so incredible 5/5/2003

Aequis spa is everything they said and more! I wanted to buy the robe, I wanted to buy the shoes! They are familiar to me, as a dancer for Alvin Aley, we visit spas including Oasis in Manhattan and Chicago. This was incredible, so so incredible. I cannot thank you enough. This kind of thing is not only a special treat it's a part of how we take care of ourselves when we travel. I just wanted to say thank you for the treat. My experience at Aequis was so good that I tried to get another dancer to cover a space at rehearsal to take their only facial opening available. I wanted to go back! My husband bought me a gift of the Dakini "Sky Walking" Treatment for Valentines day. I have never in my life experienced such a tactile and sensory experience as this one performed by Lisa. The ambience of the Aequis transported me out of the city the minute I walked through the door. I felt like a princess for the next 24 hours!!! I will be back!!! If I have to use grocery money, I will be back!!! Thanks!!!! Pros: magical, spiritual, worth every penny Cons: none, none, none more

Loved my experienence 2/12/2003

I used Aequis to get engaged and can tell you that this place is ane "experience". I was truely in the right spot. It felt as though I was in a different world. The place is secuded. and tucked away in a nondescript building in the Pearl. This made me feel good about using the spa. I am not the typical "spa" guy but the location and really unbelivable atmosphere made my once and a lifetime experience truely once in a lifetime Pros: enviroment, service, got what I paid for Cons: parking, ....it's the pearl more

The Majority Rules 2/12/2003

As a longtime fan of the impressive Aequis Spa, I have to think the review from "qualityseeker14" is either fake (a jealous competetor?) or the person is from another planet. I hope people will look at the overwhelming number of glowing reviews and know that there's something fishy with giving Aequis anything but a high rating. There's one thing undisputible about Aequis, the customer's comfort and preferences are always first. They treat every person like royalty. more

NOTHING SPECIAL HERE 2/10/2003

I went to Aequis based on the Citysearch reviews that were so glowing and high. Well, for the money spent, it was just nothing really special. Maybe I am spoiled, but the atmosphere seemed really forced and .....not real. The facial was ok, but I have had better in Portland, and the massage was average as well. So much for "you get what you pay for". I paid through the nose, and it was nothing special at all. Pros: None Really Cons: Parking in the Pearl more

Indulge Yourself!!! 1/23/2003

Reading the reviews I thought that this place was too good to be true. How could a spa be as majestical and sensational as everyone had said?? But to my delight it was that and more. The massage was incredible and the ambiance was calming and enchanting. What made it the perfect was the staff. They were perfect in everyway. They make you feel totally comfortable and relaxed and allow you to feel like a queen for a day. They are very intuned with your needs and are there to please.. I would reccomend every one to treat themselves at least once. You will be a better person for it. Pros: comfortable, relaxing more
