There is nothing Superior about Superior Moving & Storage. NOTHING.
The owner, Mark, is a dick.
The guys he has working for him are great, wish I could work with them without having to deal with him.
Here's my story:
I hired superior movers to move me out of my house. They did a good - not great job. I paid upwards of $1000 (with tips) for 3 guys for 8 hours and I was all moved in. They were supposed to be at my place by 9am, they showed up at 10:30, but it wasn't a big deal as I dedicated the entire day to the move. Nobody on their team picked up their cell phones. I found it frustrating that I could not contact them to see where they were during the move, but it all ended up working out. Bill and his crew were good. I think it was expensive, but they did a good enough job.
The next week I asked them to move a pool table for me. Bill said that he had extensive experience with moving pool tables, so I hired his specific crew. I called in to schedule it and the owner, Mark, took the call.
Before he knew I was a repeat customer he was off and running with an overly aggressive and borderline sleazy sales pitch about why I should use his company. I let him go to see what he would say and at the end I said I'm a repeat customer, I want Bill and his crew for (this date) at 1pm.
He asked me how early I could have the move done and I told him 1. He said that earlier was better, but Bill's crew would be there by 1. I then called him two days later (a week before the move) and told him that we could do the move as early as 12:15. He said great, we're all set. I would have had them come in earlier, but the person who owned the table works on Saturday mornings.
On HIS WORD, I then scheduled two other vendors to perform services on my new home that same day, Both gave me windows that started with 3pm and I depended on them to have me and the pool table at my house by that time so I could let the other vendors (cable and security system guys) in my house.
The day of the move came around and 12:15 came and went with no movers. 1:00 came and went with no movers, 2:00 and so on. Around 2:15 I called back in (as I was about 30 minutes from my house) and asked where Bill and his crew were. After 15 minues on hold, I was told that they were scheduled between 1-3 and that A CREW (not Bill's crew) would be at the job around 3, maybe later.
I NEVER was told that there was a window. I asked for a SPECIFIC crew and was given a SPECIFIC time. Mark didn't care and scheduled another job for Bill that morning. That job took too long so they were late for me and then he lied to me about giving me a window. I had to cancel the move because I had other responsibilities that day and they were running over two hours late. I then asked for Mark, was told he was unavailable, and left him a message. I never heard back from him.
I would have been much less frustrated if THEY had PROACTIVELY reached out to me to tell me what was going on. They did not, I had to hunt them down with several phone calls to ascertain what the situation was. I found this very unprofessional on Mark's end.
I called back and eventually got him on the phone. He accepted no responsibility for the mistakes that he made and said that it was my fault that the move didn't happen. After some back and forth, he eventually asked what I wanted. I said I want my pool table moved already, but I'll take a discount for the frustration, inconvenience, and stress I had to deal with. He was unwilling to comply and I found another company that charges much less than he does.
My advice: save yourself the frustration and don't work with this company.
If you MUST use these guys, don't schedule anything else that day. They are not reliable enough to make other plans around.
